EDUARDO - CHAPTER 52

” It’s unfair that you would think she has an hand in what happened to Erduardo ,she loves him “Leonardo said as he stared at his father in disbelief . He had rushed down with his wife I’mmediately he heard what happened to Erduardo.

“What else am I supposed to do Leon ! Your brother could have died .Do you even know what his mom and I are going through right now “he bursted angrily and for the first time Leon felt his father voice out the fears he buried deep within .

” I know you’re hurt right now ,but how do think Camila feels right now ? her husband is in a critical condition and it’s our duty to protect her , giving her the assurance that r everything is going to be alright. ” Leonardo said as his eyes moved over to Camila’s direction as she cried like a baby .

” I would never think of hurting my husband. Yes we have our differences as a couple but I seriously don’t know why my Dad h@ťěd me to the point of wanting to end my life “she said as she took a deep breath in and out .

” Come here “the Godfather said and Camila walked over to him with baby steps . He pulled her into his arms and she burst out crying.

Leonardo didn’t know the cold-hearted man had that father figure inside of him .

” You should go home , freshen up and have something to eat dear . Right now what you need to do is rest. Erduado is out of danger and we won’t let anything or anyone hurt him “Leonardo said and she opened her mouth to argue but decided to let it slide .

Erduado would not appreciate it if he woke up and found out she had not been taking care of herself and the baby . She did not want to get into an argument with him when everything went back to normal so she gave a nod .

” Oh my goodness Camila “Imani said as she moved over to her and pulled her into a hug .

‘ I heard what happened, please be strong . Eddy is a fighter and would definitely get out of this strong ” she said and Camila smiled . Indeed she married a fighter ,many would have given up from the impact of the gunshots but he fought for them Imani held her throughout the time they walked back to the house.

” Come here baby girl “Scarlett his older sisters and as she pulled Camila into a hug. Being around his family just helped with handling the situation . She didn’t know how she would have felt if the case was reversed .

The next day she was at the hospital with Erduardo when the nurse said someone was here to see her. She stood up and walked out to meet whoever it was before stopping on her tracks when her eyes met with shuga.

The woman looked gorgeous in her black classy dress and heels to match . She has a fancy basket of fruits and lunch .

” I brought you lunch “she said and flashed her a warm smile that made her sigh softly.

” What are you doing here ? “She asked as she rubbed her forehead.

” I figured it was high time I stop pretending like I don’t need you in my life when I actually do “shuga said as she counted her words softly .

” I’m tired it hiding away and letting you build setting notions about me that are not true . I’m your mother Camila hating me won’t change that “she said and Camila bit her lower lip to stop the tears that thr_@tened to escape her .

” What am I supposed to do ? You can’t just walk back into my life and expect me to open mu arms to you it’s hard “she said as her voice broke at the edge.

” I know what I did was wrong , and I promise I’m willing to explain and be better for you baby “she said and Camila gestured for them to sit at the bench just outside his room .

” Well , The woman you thought was your biological mother for all these years was my older sister. Someone who made sacrifices for me , someone who cared deeply about me ….”She trailed as she went ahead to explain how everything had happened .

” Life hasn’t been Rosy for me Camila .. things only got better when Salvador came into my life ,I had been a lonely woman with all my wealth “she said and Camila stared at her speechlessly.

” I don’t know what to say , I don’t h@ťě you shuga. I just didn’t approve of your coldness towards Erduardo”she said openly.

” I was worried considering the fact that he is part of the mafia. Not just part of it ,but he plays a major role . Camila I saw you as someone who didn’t approve of the lifestyle and thought I could convince you to leave. Well you know what you want ,I sincerely apologise for the way I handled the situation back then ” Shuga said calmly.

” Give me a chance to be the mother you deserve “she said and Camila chuckled out tears .

” I don’t know what to say shuga “she said with a beautiful smile on her face as they hugged each other .

Erduado had been unconscious for a week and Camila spent the days with him , holding his hand and giving him her fill support .

Her mind went back to heated conversation she had with her father some days ago . Ignacio informed her the man was awake and she went down to the dungeons to see the monster for herself.

” Mila …my darling “he said as he stared her with chains tied around him . It was very obvious he was going to spend the rest of his life begging to die .

” These people are accusing me of something I know nothing about my dear ,I…. would never do anything to hurt you and you know this “he said and she just stared at him calmly .

” Yes I made mistakes ,but is it worth treating me like a criminal ? “He asked .

” Did you ever love me ? “She asked and he stared at her .

” Why would you even ask me such a stupid question .What nonsense have these Delgado’s instilled in your mind against your father “he asked and she chuckled bitterly.

” You never had time for me ,it was all business from the beginning but I thought it was because you were lonely and that you missed your late wife . But no , it was your selfish desires from the onset “she said as she burst out crying.

” You joined forces with Miranda to ruin my life and even ki||ed Zina , Someone who didn’t do anything to hurt you . Erduado is laying half dead in the hospital because of you … ”

” This hurts do bad because I still love you as a father , that’s what breaks me more. .. I’m supposed to feel happy that you will face your punishment but that’s what breaks me more. You have hurt me beyond repair and I h@ťě you for this “she said as she cried like a baby.

” Don’t blame yourself for my actions Camila ,if I could change the hands of time I will do the things I did . “He said without remorse.

” I wanted an heir not a woman “he said and that broke her further as she staggered backwards.

” You don’t fit into this lifestyle , supporting Erduardo is not in you Camila . You run away from situations and trust me it won’t be long before he gets tired of you “Mr Vasquez spat and Quinton moved into the dungeon .

” I think we should leave Camila , it’s not healthy to listen to anymore trash he has to say ” Quin said and she gave a nod .

” I’m glad you showed your true colors ,I’m glad you’ll find death and see it . I’m glad you will burn for freedom ….good luck “she said and he screamed laying curses as they left the dungeon.

Camila was sure he would die either from starvation or pain . She shut her eyes as she burst out crying Quinton held her in support.

Remembering those bitter memories made tears roll down from her eyes in the hospital room where she sat with Erduardo.

” I can’t wait for you to come back Eddy . Everything is breaking me beyond repair ..I …need you my peace . Please …. please….”she cried as her tears touched his hands she eventually fell asleep in the position .

Erduardo’s hands moved as his eyes fluttered open . The nurses came in to check up on him and raised the alarm. Camila woke up and Barbara held her hand in support as they checked up on Erduardo .

By the evening I of the next day he was fully conscious and sitting down on the hospital bed. Camila Walked as her eyes stung with tears.

” Bambi ”

” My Essence “they both said in unison and she burst out crying .

” I’m so sorry Erduardo…I truly am. I’m sorry for hurting you . I’m sorry for letting pride get the better of me ,I’m sorry for letting you fight for us alone . I’m sorry that my presence in your life came with so much pain ….I….I…”she trailed as she cried like a baby .

” Whoever said your presence in my life brought me pain ..?”he asked and she cried. He raised her face making their eyes meet.

” Get that thought out of your head Camila ,you’re nothing like your father. Yes we made a lot of mistakes and trusted the wrong people “”

” Yes ,you had your fears and I had my own issues but we can get pass them together baby . I’m ready to support you …I’m ready to do everything right he said softly and winced at the pain in his leg.

“I’m sorry ,does it hurt “she asked and he chuckled.

“A bit “he said and she kissed his hand .

” Let’s start afresh from where we missed it “he said and she raised her eyebrows.

” Where did we even miss it Erduardo “she asked with a chuckle.

” How about we renew our wedding vows ? A proper wedding this time around ,with a bride in a proper dress “he said and she burst out laughing as her mind went back to the crazy drenched dress .

” I don’t remember you asking me to marry you “she said teasingly.

” Will you remarry me my beautiful pregnant wife ? “He asked and she laughed.

” Yes my Mafia husband “she said and he chuckled.

She was willing to make this work with Erduardo , Willing to stand strong when hard times came knocking after all that’s what real couples do .
