EPISODE 5: THE DEAL

“We are here, baby bear” Mrs. West voice jolted Nadine from her sleep. She quickly opened her eyes and her heart skipped when she saw the school’s building looking at her. She inhaled deeply and dabbed her face gently.
“Mum, does my face look okay?” She asked.
Her mum gave her this weird look, which she understood immediately.
“I’m asking you this because I slept in the car. So, does my face look okay?”
“Sure thing” Her mother smiled.
Nadine nodded and got down from the car, and her parents both waved until they were out of sight down the smooth road.
“Hmphhh” Nadine inhaled deeply.
Luckily for her, she sighted Gigi walking into the school and a smile enveloped on her thin lips.
“Hey, wait up” Nadine said aloud.
Gigi who heard this strange voice, arched her brows and turned back to see someone running towards her.
“Who’s she? She looks familiar for some reason” She thought.
Gigi eyes widened when she got a clue of whom she could be.
“You’ve got to be kidding me” She shook her head. “The girl K!SSer??” She wondered.
“Hello” Nadine smiled at her.
Gigi eyed her for a moment.
“And you are?”
“Nadine West” She retorted.
“I’m new here, and I’m your classmate as well”
“Oh” Gigi muttered and started leaving. Nadine held the straps of her bag and followed her.
“So, What’s your name?” Nadine asked.
Gigi suddenly stopped and Nadine faced her, wondering what the matter could be.
“How may I help you?” Gigi asked arrogantly.
“Uhmm… Nothing. I just wanted to know your name since we are both in the same class”
“You…are not the kind of person that I would want to relate with. You must not know this but you really irk me, eww” Gigi uttered and walked out of Nadine.
Nadine stood there, numb, watching as Gigi swung her hips while leaving. Her eyes turned misty.
“What was I expecting?” She thought and slowly moved in.

Nadine stole a glance at Gigi, who sat at the front. She was laughing and discussing with her friends.
“Max baby” Gigi called with sarcasm.
Maxine who was asleep woke up immediately. Her shirt was unƁụťťoned, exposing her blue top which she wore in.
“Didn’t you hear the lady?” Mia asked.
Maxine sighed deeply and stood up. She was indeed tall. Her colored hair which dropped right on her shoulders fitted her oval face perfectly. She was slim and pretty, too.
“What’s it?” Maxine asked lowly after getting to Gigi.
Gigi smirked.
“You know right? I haven’t forgiven you yet”
Maxine crouched low and faced Gigi directly like she was about to K!SS her, so as Nadine thought. She was watching them, but she couldn’t hear what they were talking about. Nadine swallowed hard when she saw how their eyes locked and the way they faced each other.
“About what you did. You bullied me, dear Maxine”
“I’m sorry. I tried talking to you the other day, but you kept ignoring me. What do you expect me to do, huh?”
“What I expect you to do, huh? You can’t even possibly do anything at all. You can’t get me expensive dresses, cologne, jewelries if I demand for it because you’re freaking poor. You’re so useless, Maxine”
Maxine just ogled at her.
“Rue?” Gigi called.
“Yes?” Rue answered.
“Hope the video is still intact?” Gigi asked.
“Yeah. It’s still intact” Rue nodded.
“Nice” Gigi smiled.
“What video?” Maxine asked, perplexed.
“The video has you, bullying me. You slapped me and I fainted and not only that, I got sexually harassed by a girl because of you”
“Pardon?”
“That ugly feminine person K!SSed me, hello??” Gigi shook her head.
“I didn’t mean it to happen that way”
“Well, just get ready to leave this school after I show that video to my Dad. Bully!”
“I’m sorry, okay? I’m genuinely sorry. I really worked my Ɓụťť off to school here. I’m under scholarship and we know that. If I get expelled, where will I start from? I’ll be a dropout and I won’t be able to go to school again. I have no money and I want to continue going to school. I can’t afford the fees and you know. Please, Gigi… please. Consider me”
“Blah Blah Blah. All I hear is the noisy and irritating buzzing of a thousand flies”
Maxine felt her eyes soiling with tears. “You want dresses? I promise to get them? Colognes? Tell me, I’ll get them. I don’t care how expensive they are”
“I don’t want any of them. I can get them double if it suits me. Like I said before, you aren’t useful. You’re so useless”
“Then, what can I do, huh? Tell me. What can I do for you to forgive me just this once?”
“You’ll do anything?”
“Sure, I will! Anything, It’s a promise” Maxine answered quickly.
“Good then” Gigi smirked.
“You know that new girl. Did y’all say she’s Natalie, or is it Nadine? Well, I want you to take revenge on her for me”
“How? I don’t understand”
“That girl fûcking K!SSed me! Did she think I’ll let her go just like that? I ain’t no fool”
“So, what are you insinuating?” asked Maxine.
Gigi slowly brought her ear closer to Maxine’s face.
“I want you to K!SS her back. Then, send the picture or better still, send a video of the scene to me”
“What? I’m not gay?” Maxine shook her head.
“Hello? Do I look like I’m gay to you? Yet, I got K!SSed by an âss they call a mouth. You doing it or not?”
“But, how do I do it? I can’t just go to her and tell her that I wanna K!SS her or something”
“Well, that your problem. I suggest you think hard and be smart about this. So, you’re taking this deal or not? If you do this, I’ll forgive you right away. You won’t be in trouble anymore. Remember, my Dad is one of the higher ups and with just a snap of my fingers, I can get you out of this school. I can get rid of you, Maxine Wright”
“Okay, fine”
“Hmm…So, you doing it?” Gigi giggled.
“Yeah” Maxine nodded.
“Good. I’ll be expecting it then. Have a wonderful day, Maxine”
“But you shouldn’t hate her so much. She kind of saved your life” Maxine uttered.
“If I were you, I certainly won’t spoil my mood” Gigi frowned.
“Sorry” Maxine muttered and left.
Nadine watched as Maxine left Gigi. But it was strange… because she was moving towards her.
