What Is the LEGACY You Want To Leave Behind
Leaving a legacy is leaving a mark, a stamp, which will make people remember you. It can be a thing, a task, a title, fame, it can be anything, for the next generations in the family or for the people who know you to cherish, remember, and follow you.
What is going to be your Legacy?… What is going to be mine?… I feel I have not achieved anything yet which I want, to answer this question. If I had followed my instincts in time maybe today I would have been where I wanted to see myself and would have answered the question promptly.
I have a small inspirational story of myself which can be a lesson to my next generation as “How not to do a few things” 😉…
I was always a bright student. Not so troubling child. Everything was fine with me, but you see my luck wasn’t that fine. My father feels ‘my son is a go getter, but we were not equipped at some point to guide him in life and neither did he guide himself well. We are proud of him. Wh@ťěver he has achieved till now is with his hardwork. We wish he also had a tad bit of luck.” (I love my dad ❤️)
It’s not so bad though. I am who I am today, I worked hard personally and professionally. No regrets. 🙅♀️… I have tiny winy regrets, but if certain things haven’t happened in my life I would not have learnt valuable lessons in life.
If I can pass on these lessons and draft them for my next generations to refer and understand, that would be my legacy. My journal, my experiences. Whom to trust, whom not. How to utilize your time. How to find solutions. How to be street smart in certain situations. All the keys to all those locks, which I couldn’t open in time. The right way to lead life from my perspective.
It’s not necessary that my experience and learning can apply to them. Every person has a different life, different struggles, and a very different fate. In the chaos of their life or in the midst of feeling lost, if my journals or my books can be their go to guides, I would be smiling from heaven (I suppose I am going to heaven, hopefully 😊).
I have a very big dream of starting my own start up. Now I have no Idea when that dream will be fulfilled. I have made some plans but right now I have no funds. If I get into a job I desire and get the pay I am looking for, then slowly I may pave ways to start my own business. When that happens, I would pass on that to my children.
One important lesson I want my children and everyone to learn, “there are no free lunches in the world.” You have to work hard. Luck is a major factor, agreed. But if you work hard with the right attitude, you can turn tables. The only important thing is don’t waste time, not stopping at one option and one place. Keep moving and make your own road even if there is no road to travel to your destiny.
My legacy to my children and generations to come would be, some journals, hopefully someday some of my books published, my dream of a small business, some of my life lessons, if any heirlooms I possess over time, and lots and lots of love ❤️…
If the world can remember me for my good deeds, If my work and my experiences can be useful for people to learn and evolve, What else do I want? That’s what we are for on this ground, to hold it for ourselves, and to hold each other supportively.
Let us know what legacy you would love to leave behind for the future generations in the comment section.
