Andrian’s POV

I’m so nervous right now. I don’t think I’ve ever been as nervous as I am now.

Mason is my number one enemy in this world. He hates me for no just cause and it has made me really hate him too.

He’s my biggest rival among all the businessmen I’ve come across. He always tries to do whatever I do but still, I’m richer than he is and I don’t think he will ever be as rich as I am in ten years to come.

If I lose this contract to him now, he’s going to taunt me with it for the rest of my life and defeat is one of the things I hate most.

I shut my eyes tightly as I waited for them to announce the winner of the contract.

“We’ve decided to award the contract to M. A company”

What?!! I opened my eyes in shock to see Mason smirking at me.

Why do I have a feeling that something is wrong somewhere? I know how much effort I put into this contract so how come the contract wasn’t awarded to me?

I will surely get to the root of this matter and if I find out that bribery was involved, I will never have anything to do with this company ever again.

I stood up angrily and walked to where my car was parked when Mason suddenly showed up.

“Look whom we have here. The one and only Andrian Carter of C. A company.

Tell me how it feels to loose this huge contract”

“Just leave this place before I loose it Mason” I said through gritted teeth

“Or what Andrian? Are you going to beat me up because I won the contract?”

“I don’t have time to talk to a nuisance like you”

I got into my car and asked my driver to take me back to my company. This place is sickening

Skylar’s POV

I feel for my boss knowing he lost the contract and somehow, I feel like it’s my fault.

Maybe he wouldn’t have lost the contract if he had another PA that isn’t me, just maybe.

After few minutes of driving, we arrived at our own company.

Ahh lest I forget, the guy that won the contract looks like Mason but I’m not really sure about it because I didn’t see his face clearly.

He asked me out when I was still in highschool but I turned him down and he said I was going to pay for it.

I don’t know what happened but I know he left school before our graduation and I can say that’s what saved me.

Though all that is in the past now! I’m no longer that helpless girl that he saw me as. I’m now an independent lady that is struggling to make sure my sister doesn’t end up like me.

I learned judo and taekwando so I will be able to defend myself against any guy.

That aside, boss looks really angry and I just hope I don’t get fired at this rate.

Thankfully, he doesn’t have anything his schedule for today so I won’t really have any reason to go to his office again throughout today.

6:30 pm

Thank goodness I’m done for the day. The only thing left now is how I’m going to break the news to my sister, she’s going to be really sad but I guess I have no choice.

I picked my bag ready to close for the day when the landline rang.

“Meet me in my office in a minute” the boss said coldly and hanged up.

I’m fired! I know that already. Why did this have to happen on my first day of working here?

Wait! He said one minute right? I have just twenty seconds left!

I dropped my bag and ran as fast as I could. When I got to his office, I was P@ŋting heavily.

I knocked on the door and heard a ‘come in’ before going inside.

“This man will take you home now so take the few clothes you will be needing and make sure you prepare dinner before I get home. You can leave” he didn’t even spare me a glance till he finished talking

I’m definitely going to kill this guy one day. So he just made me waste my strength for no reason? It’s not his fault.

I left his office and went to my own office to take my bag before going to meet the man that is to take me home.

We arrived at my house after driving for about thirty minutes.

I quickly went into my room and started taking the few clothes I will be needing.

“Ella pack your clothes and books, we’re moving to somewhere else.” I shouted from my room

“Aunt Skylar are you kidding?” she asked when she got to my room

“I’m not kidding Ella. I will explain everything to you on the way, you trust me right?”

“Of course, you’re the only one I have in this world”

“Good! Just take the important things we will be needing, we don’t have much time”

“Okay sis” she answered and went to her room

We were on our way to sir Andrian’s mansion about an hour later. I hope things go well.

Mason’s POV

After I closed from office, I went straight to Skylar’s house. I’m sure she will be happy to see me after a long time.

We got to her house few minutes later and I adjusted my suit properly before getting down from the car.

I walked to the door and noticed it was locked. Huh? Is she not back from work yet?

I guess I have to wait for her.

I waited for about thirty minutes and she still wasn’t back. $h|t! Just when I was close to accomplish my mission.

“You guys should check up on her tomorrow. If she’s around don’t hesitate to inform me” I said to my guards

“Yes boss”

I took one last glance at her house before walking back to my car.

Skylar Brandon! You won’t be able to escape from me this time.
