Skylar’s POV
I stood at the door looking confused. I just finished cooking and I came to call Avery downstairs but what I heard made me stop.
She was threatening someone but who? I heard her talk about the kidnap so I think it’s Leah but I’m not sure about that.
What did Avery discuss with Leah that evening? If only I could know what they talked about, then I would have the answers to my questions.
I sighed tiredly before knocking the door.
“Come in” I heard Leah’s voice
“Dinner is ready, come downstairs” I said to her
“Alright, I’ll be there soon” she said not looking up from her phone
I stared at her for a while before going back downstairs. I just hope Avery knows what she’s doing because Leah can be very dangerous.
After we were done eating, I cleared the plates and washed them in the kitchen.
I took out my phone as I sat on one of the couches in the sitting room. I decided to check the latest news on Andrian’s case.
How is the public reacting to it and what are they saying? I know they will blame Andrian because of Leah’s fake tears and the thought of that alone made me angry.
The first video I came across was that of Leah. Is this where she lied to the public? I angrily scrolled down but I stopped as something occurred to me.
That wasn’t the dress Leah wore in the video I watched in Paris, has she told another lie to the public?
I scrolled back up and clicked on the video. If she does anything that will affect Andrian’s business again, I won’t just sit back and watch her.
I listened attentively to what she said in the video and I was beyond shocked.
She confessed to the public that all what she said about Andrian was a lie and she also apologised in tears.
I can’t believe this! How dumb can this girl be? After saying something to the public, she suddenly went back to say it’s a lie? Only fools do that!
“Andrian, have you watched the latest video of Leah?” I asked turning to him
“Yeah. I just watched it and I must say I’m really confused”
“You can’t be as confuse as I am”
“Why did she do that? I know she lied to the public to make me seem like a bad person and ruin my name but why did she suddenly confess again? Something seems fishy” he said and that was when my mind drifted to Avery
“Do you think this has to do with Avery? I mean, this happened just after she went to see Leah”
“You’re right about that. But do you think Leah will allow herself get used by a little girl?”
“Not if the little girl has an evidence against her”
“That’s true. If Avery has an evidence against Leah, then it’s possible she threatened her but what evidence could she have?” Andrian asked looking confused
“I guess we have to find out”
“We won’t be able to find out except Avery wants us to. You don’t know her” Andrian said with a sigh
“What do we do then?”
“We just sit and let Avery handle it”
“Okay then. I’m just too anxious to know the truth and what Avery is planning” I said focusing my gaze on my phone
Mason’s POV
I stared at the two videos Leah released in less than a week. This girl has completely gone nuts!
Why will she try to take Andrian down and still be the one to pull him up again? Has she finally gone insane?
I angrily smashed my phone against the wall. If she continues like this, then I won’t be able to have Skylar to myself and I won’t sit by and watch that happen.
Until I’ve had a taste of Skylar, she belongs to no one else but me and I’ll make sure I accomplish that.
I took out my other phone and decided to call her. If I want to win her over, I have to play my cards well. She picked the call on the third ring and I smirked before saying anything.
“Hello baby girl” I said sweetly
“Hi Mason” she answered tiredly
“Hey! What’s wrong?” I asked pretending to be worried
“I’m fine! How have you been?”
“I’ve been doing great. Are you sure you are fine?” I asked again
“I’m really fine Mason”
“Okay then, since that’s what you said. How was your honeymoon?” I asked mockingly
“It was great, just that we had to rush back because of Leah’s scandal”
“Was Leah really saying the truth about being pregnant for Andrian?”
“I don’t know too. Andrian said he’s yet to confirm if the child is his or not”
“Okay” I said with a nervous gulp
“Yeah! Gotta go now. Bye” she said and ended the call
What if Leah is pregnant for me? No, no! It can’t be! She’s not pregnant for me and I know that.
Although, she told me to sleep with her so she can pin the pregnancy in Andrian but she couldn’t have gotten pregnant. I don’t want to be a father yet.
Besides, if word gets out to the public then my image will be tarnished and my business will probably go down.
I sighed frustratedly and cleared the thought of my head.
Leah’s POV
After much thinking, I’ve finally decided to allow Avery release the recording. After all, she doesn’t know who I was speaking to that day and she doesn’t know who the real father of the child is.
If I tell the public myself, I will have no choice but to mention Mason’s name and that will be too embarrassing for me.
Besides, Mason might try to kill me for mentioning his name and I don’t want that.
It will be better for her to just release the recording. The whole word will hear my voice but they won’t know who I’m speaking to and that’s to my advantage.
I can always tell them a lie. I can’t believe I’m such a genius.
I took my bath and got dressed. I don’t have anything to do today so I think I should just go to any fun place.
After sitting in the car, I plugged in my headphone and turn on my data connection. I need to check the latest designs available.
I checked the new bags and shoes and ordered for the ones I like online before deciding to go offline but then, my eyes caught something.
There was a trending topic on net and it was about no other person but me. What is it this time?
I read people’s comment and I was beyond shocked. I almost forgot Avery’s threat but the truth is that I didn’t know she was serious.
“I don’t know who she was speaking to but it’s obvious she’s trying to pin her pregnancy on someone. Who knows if it’s our poor Andrian?” I read d first comment I came across
“I actually didn’t believe everything she said to the public, turns out I was right. She’s a model so what are we supposed to call her instead of a gold-digger? Women like her aren’t supposed to be in existence?”
Like seriously? All this because of the stupid record Avery released?
I swear if I get hold of that girl, she won’t leave to see the next hour. How dare her try to ruin what I built for years?
I need to do something real quick!!

Skylar’s POV
I listened to the recording posted by an anonymous person over and over again.
The voice clearly belongs to Leah and she was talking to someone else probably on phone because the other person’s voice wasn’t heard.
One thing is obvious in the record. She’s pregnant for someone but she’s trying to pin it on someone else.
Does this mean she’s pregnant for someone else and she’s trying to pin it on Andrian or she’s pregnant for Andrian and she’s trying to pin it on someone else?
Aish!!! I’m going crazy! If she had just mentioned someone’s name, then this puzzle will be solved.
Maybe the first thing to do is find out who posted the record. I’m sure the person will have a clue to what Leah really meant.
I stood up to go in search of Andrian but I stopped in my track when I remembered something.
Avery mention something about posting a record when she was talking to Leah yesterday so could it be this same recording?
Wow! If it’s the one, then things are getting really interesting. I have to find a way to ask Avery about it.
I decided to go to her room instead of searching for Andrian. When I got in, she was painting a drawing she made while Ella was reading a book.
“How are you doing?” I asked them with a smile
“Fine” they chorused not sparing me a glance
Looks like they’re really engrossed with what they’re doing.
“Uhhm! Ella, can you please step out for a while? I want to speak with Avery”
“She doesn’t need to leave. I know why you’re here and Ella knows about it already, so you can ask your question” Avery said still not looking up at me
Okay, this is creepy. How did she know why I’m here? I can’t believe this was the same girl that was scared of a gun.
“Alright then! Were you the one that posted that recording of Leah?” I asked going straight to the point
“What do you think?” she asked back
“Avery. What I need now is a yes or no. Were you the one?”
“Yeah!” she answered with an eyeroll
“Oh my goodness! Can you explain what Leah really meant? I’m confused!” I said truthfully
“You are confused? I thought you’re a genius sis Skylar, how can you be confused? I never expected that”
“I don’t want to jump into conclusions, I want to be sure”
“Fine then. Leah is pregnant for someone else but she’s trying to pin it on Andrian. I don’t want to know who she’s pregnant for, what matters most is that she has crossed the line” Avery said a little angrily
“Thank goodness! The pregnancy is not for Andrian, I’m sure he’ll be happy to hear this. Catch you guys later”
I blew them a K!SS and hurriedly left the room to see Andrian.
Leah’s POV
I was still staring at my phone when a car suddenly double crossed us. Huh? What is going on?
Before I could say jack, my driver was down and they dragged me inside their own car. They placed an handkerchief over my nose making me loose consciousness.
*Minutes later*
I opened my eyes to see myself tied up in a room. The room was a bit wide and it had a small window where the sun was coming in.
“Who is there? Let me go this instant!” I screamed on top of my voice but there was no response
Who the hell could have done this? I’m in good terms with everyone so why would someone kidnap me?
“If you don’t let me go now, then get ready to spend the rest of your lives in jail” I screamed again
Before I finished, the door opened and a man came in making me really scared.
“You’re too lousy Leah, don’t you get tired?” Avery asked coming in
What? Tell me she’s not behind my kidnap.
“I warned you, didn’t I? You thought I could do nothing. Well, I guess I’ve proven you wrong now” she said with a smirk
“What is the meaning of this Avery? Let me go now” I screamed at her
“I don’t plan to torture you but if you push me to the wall, I might have no other choice but to do that” she said smiling sweetly making me gulp nervously
“What do you want?” I asked through gritted teeth
“All I want is for you to confess to the world that the child you are carrying doesn’t belong Andrian. I don’t care if you disclose who the real father is. All I want you to do is tell them Andrian is not the father of your child” she said while I looked at her in horror
What the hell is she doing? How can I say it to the public that Andrian is not the father of my child?
“What are you talking about? Who told you Andrian is not the father of my baby?” I finally summoned up courage to say something
“Ohh! Really? Should I ask Mason to do it instead?” she asked while I looked at her in shock
How did she know?
“How did I know? Let’s just say I have my ways” she said with a smirk
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” I said looking away
“Fine then, Mason it is” she said standing up
I sighed and closed my eyes for a while.
“Wait! I’ll do it”
“Good! Let’s start now!”
She sat down with her legs crossed while the guards brought in the equipment to be used for the video.
“At the count of three, you start!” Avery said to me
She already asked the men to loosen the rope used to tie my hands and legs. Right now, I was currently seated before her.
“One, two, three!”
After she counted three, the men signalled me to start.
Avery already wrote the questions I’m to answer inside a paper. I’m to say everything in the order of the question.
“Good afternoon everyone. As you all know, I’m Leah Roger. I recently told the public that I’m pregnant for Andrian.
I want you all to know that it’s a lie! I’m pregnant but the pregnancy doesn’t belong to Andrian.
I was blinded by my love for Andrian that I was willing to go to any length for him. I never knew things would turn out this way.
Andrian is not the father of my baby and no relationship exists between us. We were never in any relationship, all those things I said then were made up by me.
I’m really sorry and I hope you can find a place in your heart to forgive me” I concluded and they cut it
“Are you happy now? I’ve done what you want so let me go!” I screamed
“You seem to be forgetting something. I’m the boss here and if I don’t ask them to release you, they won’t. So if I were you, I will just keep quiet and wait for my fate” she said sternly before walking out with the men
I was left all alone with just the ray of light that was coming in though the window.
Is this what they mean by nemesis? It’s just a little girl that isn’t up to fifteen years that is treating me this way.
I’m going to make sure I deal with Avery and make her pay for all what she’s doing to me even if it’s the last thing I do on earth.
I swear on my life!
