{NEXT MORNING}

Elena was woken up by a ticklish feeling that felt more like small kisses being trailed on her cheeks,lips and neck,she snuggled closer to the sheet trying to get away from the person disturbing her sleep but the kisses go even more intense,so she opened her eyes

“Good morning bunny”Diego whispered and picked her lips

she smiled and turned to the other side to continue her sleep

“Are you just going back to sleep?”He asked with a frown

“I love you but I love sleep more so stop disturbing me”She mumbled with her eyes still closed

“aren’t you going to work today?”He asked and her eyes flew open

“Am I late?”She asked and sat up

He chuckled,peaked her lips and went towards the window

“where are you going?”She asked and stood up

“Home I also need to go to work”

“Why are you using the window?you can just use the door”

“and risk seeing that your crazy maid…no thank you”He said,she moved closer to him and hugged him

“I’ll miss you”She said

“me too,I’ll pick you after work”He broke the hug and kissed her briefly before jumping through the window

Elena tapped her red cheeks and sighed before going to take her bath

Diego returned home and met Alex sitting on his bed

“What are you doing here?”Diego asked

“I was waiting for you all night,I didn’t know you were spending the night there”

“what did she say?did she believe you”Alex asked

Diego nodded and took off his shirt

“I didn’t know you would get a girlfriend before me”

“Leave I want to take my bath”Diego said

“I’m leaving,jerk”Alex mumbled and left the room

Diego took off his trouser and went into the bathroom

Elena was having another busy day and the hospital was so crowded

she was tired and hungry,she didn’t have time to go for lunch

Doctor Sergio was out of town for a while and she was assigned to another doctor

Doctor Martins,he was a middle aged grumpy man and he hand been putting a work load on her head

Twenty minutes to closing…she couldn’t wait to leave

Doctor Martins was approaching her obviously to disturb her little peace

“I need you to go to the blood bank and get me a litre of O positive”

“okay doctor”she gave a small smile and went to get it

she got the blood and went to the ward doctor Martins was treating a patient with blood tumor,he lost a lot of blood during the operation

she gave the doctor the blood and left

she went and began chatting with Brenda

few minutes later an angry looking doctor Martins marched towards then

He gave Elena a tight slap,Elena stood up and held her cheek that was throbbing

“This stupid girl,you gave me the wrong blood group”Doctor Martins yelled and everyone began starring at them

“I didn’t I checked it well before….”

“Stop trying to cover your stupid mistake we could have lost a patient because of you”

“I..”before she could finish Doctor Martins gave her another slap,tears rolled down her cheeks

Immediately another nurse approached them

“Doctor, she gave you the correct one it was your mistake you took the wrong one from the table”The nurse said

Immediately Diego approached them,he looked at Elena that was holding her cheek and tears rolled down her face,he had a sudden urge to rip whoever caused her to cry apart

“What wrong?”He asked her softly

Without saying a word she raised her gaze to doctor Martins

Diego traced her eyes to doctor Martins,he went closer to the man

“what did you do to her?”He asked coldly

“I…I didn’t do anything”Doctor Martins shuttered in fear because of the deadly stare Diego was giving him

“He slapped her for something she didn’t do”Brenda’s voice came

Diego’s eyes darkened and he held the man on the neck,choking him

“I’m…so…sorry…”the doctor shuttered in fear as Diego’s claws pierced into his skin

“Di…please stop”Elena ran to him,she was scared he was going to ki|| him

“Next time you touch her i won’t think twice before snapping your head,do you understand?”Diego asked and doctor Martins nodded

Diego threw him on the floor and some people rushed to help the doctor that was bleeding hard from his neck

“Di… why did….”Before she could finish talking Diego held her hand and pulled her out of the hospital

He led her to the car and they both got in silently

He started the car and drove off still not saying a word to her

She started at him while he drove silently with a cold look

“are you mad at me?”she asked when she couldn’t take the silence any longer

“why would I be?”He asked not sparing her a glance

“why are you not talking to me?you are making me fell like I did something bad”She said

He stopped the car and looked at her

his eyes fell on her red cheeks,he felt like going back there and ki||ing that doctor that touched his bunny

“Does it hurt a lot?”He asked and caressed her cheek

“yes”she mumbled

He kissed her on the cheek

“better?”he asked and she nodded and smiled

“maybe I should teach you how to fight so you can defend yourself”

“I don’t want to learn how to fight it’s too stressful”she said

“how are you going to defend yourself?”He asked

“I don’t have to worry about that because you’ll always protect me,I trust you”She said and rest her head on his shoulder,he smiled

“Why are you so cute?”He asked

“is that supposed to be a question?”she raised her brow

“yes I mean I’ve never met someone so cute sometimes I feel eating your adorable face”He said and pinched her cheeks

“stop that”she snapped his hand away

“am hungry”she pouted

“let’s go to a restaurant”He said and she nodded

Diego pulled his car in front of the restaurant,on of the biggest in California

As they walked in all the workers were bowing and greeting him

“Seems like they know you well,do you come here regularly?”Elena asked as they say on a private table

“I own the restaurant”Diego and and she gapsed

“I didn’t know, thinking about it I don’t know anything about you”She said and took a bite out of the chicken wing in her hand

“what do you want to know about me”Diego asked and picked his cutleries

“First about your family”she said and Diego dropped the spoon in his hand

Past painful memories came flooding through is mind

Memories he wanted to forget forever…
