A man sat comfortably on a chair with a stick of smoke between his lips. He has some dangerous tattoos all over his exposed arms.

A pair of dark shades were on his face as he puffed out smoke from his mouth and nostrils.

The fact that smokers are liable to d*e young doesn’t exist in his vocabulary.

Beside him was a glass of wine which he sips occasionally.

The room itself has a dark and dangerous aura. It has so many pictures on the wall, old and young, d**d and alive.

The man got up from his chair and walked towards the wall. He ran his fingers through some of the pictures with an evil smirk.

He picked up a marker and made a circle round some pictures and marked one which was the picture of a pretty girl.

“The game starts with you” he said with an evil laugh, his eyes darting to the other pictures.

A man came inside and bowed a little.

“Greetings boss” he said

“Eddy, what is it?” the boss said

“They are here” Eddy said with his head still bowed.

“What took them so long, they should come in” the boss said and Eddy left.

Three men and a lady came in afterwards and all bowed in respect to the boss.

“What took you so long, Viper?” the boss asked

“We didn’t want to get noticed father. Don’t you think we should call for back up?” Viper asked

“No. I’ll handle it. You all should eat something and rest for the meantime” the boss said and they all dispersed.

••LUKE’S MANSION ••

Olivia came downstairs dragging her luggage behind her. She has finished setting up her house to her standards and its time to leave.

“You are ready?” Luke asked from the stairs and she nodded

“I’ve been here for months and your mom hasn’t showed up. I guess i’ll forget about the surprise thing and call her” Olivia said

“You know how much your sister loves flying around the world” Luke said and they laughed.

“Let me see you to the door” he took her luggage from her walking towards the door.

He opened the door and saw Angel standing there about to knock on the door.

“Angel, nice to see you” Luke said and Angel smiled

“Angel” Olivia called and Angel looked at her without saying anything.

“Baby, I know I wronged you can you just give me a chance to make it up to you, please?” Olivia pleaded

“Angel please listen to her” Luke joined Olivia to plead

“I was thinking of coming to stay here since you are here too but she is leaving. I do not want to stay alone with her” Angel said

“Angel, you will go and stay with her so that you can bond faster. It won’t work if i’m there, I would distract you and I don’t want that. Besides, I want to invite my crush over” Luke muttered the last part.

“Wh@ťěver, I will think about it” Angel said stretching her phone towards Olivia “Your number”

Olivia took the phone from her and typed her number, and gave her back the phone with smiles. At least this is a good start.

“I’ll call you when I make up my mind. I want to take Beauty to buy Chocolates, she has been on my neck for a long time” Angel said and turned to leave.

“Stay safe, baby” Olivia said and touched Angel’s hair.

Angel smiled secretly and left.

••A ROADSIDE••

Angel stood on the road with Beauty waiting for a taxi when Beauty suddenly spotted her classmate and ran to say hello.

A car pulled up beside Angel and the glass went down to reveal Wyatt with Aria.

“Look who we have here. You haven’t changed much” Aria mocked

“Nice to see you again, you can hop in let’s give you a ride” Wyatt said and Angel rolled her eyes.

“Nice to see you too betrayers, and what’s with the mask, are you some sort of celebrity or what?” Angel asked

“Its none of your business” Aria said and Wyatt wore back his mask

“I hope you are happy that you got him” Angel said to Aria

“You will always be a loser” Aria said and they drove off.

Beauty appeared minutes later.

“Who were you talking to?” Beauty asked

“An old friend” Angel said

“Didn’t look like it” Beauty said and a taxi pulled up beside them. They entered and left.

••A STORE••

Beauty has been pressing Angel for chocolates and today, she decided to buy it for her. Wendy already received her pay so she got some money from her.

She herself has been looking for a job but haven’t gotten any.

Beauty started rushing to the chocolates and bumped into someone.

“Hey! Are you blinded by poverty that you didn’t see me?” the lady asked

“I’m.. Sorry ma’am” Beauty said

“Sorry for yourself. Poverty stricken f**l. Do you know how much my dress cost? Can your generation afford it?” the lady asked and Beauty looked up at her.

“I already said sorry, watch your mouth” Beauty said getting angry.

“Are you talking to me?” the lady asked

“No, she is talking to your shadow, Chloe” Angel said appearing beside her.

“Oh! I see, wretched people and their problems” Chloe said looking Angel up and down.

“Are you still working for Miles? Angel asked

“Of cos, what were you expecting? It’s a good thing he fired you. I never liked you one bit” Chloe said and Angel chuckled bringing out her phone. She sent a text to someone and dropped her phone back inside her bag.

“Mom, can we ignore this pest and get the chocolates already” Beauty said holding her mom’s hand

“Mom? You already have a child. I wonder who the unfortunate being is” Chloe said flipping her hair backwards

“Don’t worry, you will soon know who the fortunate being is” Angel smiled and Chloe turned to continue with her shopping but the entrance of someone made her stop.

“Best dad” Beauty rushed to Miles immediately and he carried her.

“Best dad, she has been pestering me and called me names even when I said sorry for bumping into her” Beauty complained pointing at Chloe who was dumbfounded staring at Miles and Beauty.

“Are you done getting what I asked you to? Miles asked and Chloe nodded

“Did she touch you?” Miles asked Beauty and she shook her head.

“What punishment should I give her?” Miles turned to Angel.

“I’m moving into my mom’s house tomorrow, she will come move our things there herself and alone” Angel said and Chloe’s eyes widened.

“You want to argue with my mom?” Beauty asked and she shook her head immediately.

“You heard her, first thing tomorrow morning, you will go and do as she says and you should be at the office before 9” Miles said

“But sir…” Chloe started

“You want to get fired instead?” Miles asked and Chloe shook her head holding her lips with her hands.

Angel smiled satisfactorily.

“Are you done with your shopping?” Miles asked Angel and she rolled her eyes walking away.

“We just arrived” Beauty smiled at Miles

•• DAYS LATER ••

Angel has been living with her mom and Beauty and both grandma and granddaughter has been best buddies.

They literally do everything together leaving her behind sometimes.

Angel prepared to go out in the morning after preparing Beauty for school.

Her mom would drop her off at school as she has insisted on doing and Miles would bring her back.

“Mom, i’m going to look for a job, I hope i get lucky today” Angel said

“Why don’t you just wait, I recently bought a boutique and I will officially be taking over today. You can manage it, if you want instead of working for someone else” Olivia said

“No thank you. If i’m not lucky today, I might consider your offer” Angel said and left.

••A BOUTIQUE ••

Angel came into the boutique looking scared and nervous. She doesn’t fit into the class of ladies that would come shop for clothes here.

“How may we help you” an arrogant looking staff walked up to Angel.

“Um mm, hi, I was wondering if there is a vacancy here for a staff” Angel said

“I don’t think so. This property has been sold and I doubt if the new owner would want more workers. So see yourself out when you are done admiring the place” the lady said and Angel bit the corner of her mouth.

‘Just what is wrong with me? How unlucky can I be?” Angel muttered still standing hoping that the owner would come and maybe take pity on her and give her the job.

She watched as people came in, do their shopping and leave. Then the last person she doesn’t wanna see came in.

Eunice Jones! Her step mom.

‘How bad can my day be?” Angel thought.

“So, its true. You know when Aria told me that she saw you I thought she was kidding but now I know she is not” Eunice said and Angel ignored her.

“When I talk to you, I need you to respond” Eunice said

“Were you talking to me?” Angel asked facing her

“The nerves of you” Eunice said and raised her hand to slap Angel but she caught it in the air.

“Even in your next life, don’t try it again” Angel said and released her hand.

“I guess your stupid mother didn’t teach you manners. I forgot she abandoned you, my bad” Eunice said and Angel moved closer to her.

“Call her stupid one more time and I will break my rules of not hitting an older person. Come on” Angel said staring into her eyes.

Someone burst into laughter behind them and they both turned to see Olivia standing there.

“You think you will intimidate her the way you intimidated me? Try harder Eunice. And for the records, I don’t want to see you anywhere around this property or I will have you locked up for trespassing” Olivia said and Eunice smiled.

“Oh, I never knew you work here, get ready to loose your job” Eunice said bringing out her phone

The manger came out few seconds later and greeted the two women respectfully.

“I want this woman out of here” Eunice said pointing at Olivia

“ummm… she is my boss” the manager said

“You boss” Eunice said in surprise.

“Get back to work” Olivia said to the manager and he left.

Olivia moved closer to Eunice.

“I found my daughter already and I am still coming for you” she whispered.

“You are thinking highly of yourself because of this store. I just have to drop a bad review and it will go down in minutes” Eunice said

“Try it and the whole world will know your darkest secrets” Olivia whispered and smiled while Eunice shivered in fear but was quick to cover it up.

“Watching you and your daughters go down will be best moment of my life” Angel said and went into the store completely. Since it belongs to her mom, she has equal rights now.

Maybe its time to get back at those that hurt her and she will be starting with Wyatt and Aria.
