Beauty got to school with Melissa and saw her off to her class before heading to her own class.

Miles made it a duty to be taking the both of them to school together. Over the weeks, he made sure to be a part of Angel and Beauty’s everyday life.

Taking Beauty to and from school, giving Angel flowers and her favorite chocolate ice cream. Helping Beauty with her assignment and taking the both of them on fun trips.

He never fails to bring Melissa along anyways. If only Angel would give them a chance to be a happy family.

She was stopped by a group of boys, definitely bull*es. She moved to another side of the way and they blocked her too.

“Move out of my way” she said as calmly as possible and the one who looked like the leader burst into laughter.

“The fact that you are friends with Melissa doesn’t give you the right to speak to anyone in this school” he said and Beauty ignored him moving to another side but the boy made a mistake of his life by touching Beauty.

She turned around swiftly and landed two slaps on his face consecutively and he fell. His friends ran away to avoid receiving their own slap.

“The fact that i’m in this school doesn’t give you the right to speak to me either. Stay on your lane” Beauty spat and left him on the floor.

She immediately sighted Dylan, Melissa’s crush and his friends not far away from their class and she scoffed.

“He’s not even that handsome” she muttered walking towards them.

“Dylan, right?” she asked Dylan nodded shifting back I’m fear. They saw what happened between her and the bullies.

“Come here, I don’t bite” she said and Dylan moved forward.

“The next time my sister skips school because of you, I will make sure you loose your front teeth. If she speak to you next time, you must respond. Am I understood?” she asked and Dylan nodded. She tapped his shoulder and walked away.

The boys released the breath they didn’t know they were holding.

••A BAR••

Chase sat looking at Luke and Miles twisting his lips. They have been here for almost an hour and the two kept looking elsewhere without speaking to each other.

“You both should speak to each other already, Angel is back, safe and sound, what else do you want?” Chase asked looking pissed

“He should stop seeing her, that’s my problem” Miles said

“What exactly do you want from her? And the audacity you have to ask me to stop seeing my own cousin, jokes on you” Luke said

“Your cousin? Angel?” Chase and Miles asked

“Yes, I just found out and that’s why i’m mad at him for treating my sister like trash” Luke said rolling his eyes at Miles.

“This is unbelievable. But even if she weren’t your cousin, he shouldn’t have treated her that way” Chase folded his arms.

Miles opened his mouth and closed it back not knowing what to say.

“Besides, I never had any romantic feelings for her, I just wanted to trigger someone’s emotions but I guess my thoughts were wrong” Luke said looking at Miles.

“What, why are you looking at me?” Miles asked

“You said you wanted to trigger someone’s feelings, who?” Chase asked and Miles gulped down his wine looking elsewhere.

“Your friend, I saw the way he looked at her the first time he saw her on the day they came for interview. He personally asked the manager to hire her” Luke said and Chase looked at Miles who was looking everywhere but their faces.

“How come I wasn’t aware of this?” he asked

“You were just too blind to notice it. And the day we went to have lunch with her, I knew he kept her in his office, I just didn’t want to stress it. What baffles me is why he burnt her belongings after she spent the night at my house” Luke said and they both looked at Miles waiting for his response.

“You both left me in the dark but that will be for another day. Care to explain?” Chase asked looking at Miles

“First of all, how did you know what happened in my house?” Miles asked

“Lucy. I called Angel but couldn’t get her so I had to call Lucy and she told me what happened” Luke said

“So why did you do it?” Chase asked

“I was jealous okay? I was jealous that Luke kept buying things for her and giving her attention even when she was carrying my baby” Miles said and the two guys blinked repeatedly

“Carrying your baby?” Chase asked

“How come?” Luke asked

“Story for another day” Miles said

“Okay, so jealousy pushed you to burn her stuff and what pushed you to send her out of the house?” Luke asked

“I never wanted to send her away. I wanted to give her and my child the best life” Miles said

“You are still not making sense” Luke said

“I had my eyes on her since the first time I saw her in a mall where she was working but I couldn’t go close to her. I masterminded her loss of job there and then I lost trace of her. When she came for interview, I had to tell the manager to hire her” Miles said

“You are really a jerk Miles. Why didn’t you just walk up to the girl and tell her that you love her. Why put her through that stress?” Chase asked

“I wasn’t sure of what I felt” Miles said

“What happened to the line that says love doesn’t exist, I will never be part of that illusion” Chase asked

“And from what you just said, you asked Ava to bring her to your house as a maid and then you used the opportunity to get her pregnant” Luke said

“No. Her coming to my house was a coincidence and she didn’t get pregnant when she was living in my house. It was before she came to my house” Miles said

“Before she came to your house? When?” Chase asked and Miles looked at Luke and he looked away.

“What I want to understand is why you sent her out into the streets with the pregnancy” Luke said stopping Miles from answering Chases’.question

“Like I said earlier, I wanted a stress free life for her and my child” Miles said

~FLASHBACK~

Miles has been pacing around his room when he heard that Angel was not yet back from work. He rushed to Ryder’s room and asked him to contact her since he didn’t want to and Ryder told him that she said she was coming home that night.

“I know she is with Luke” Miles muttered and scoffed

“What if she is with Luke, she is not your wife. Why are you so worked up over that? Angel needs to have a life outside you, her life doesn’t revolve around you” Ryder said

“You won’t understand. Ryder I need you to do something for me” Miles said and Ryder looked at him with a creased brow.

“When she comes back, I am going to kick her out of the house and burn her stuff. I h@ťě the fact that Luke bought so many things for her” Miles said and Ryder looked at him as if he has gone crazy.

“With all due respect Mr. Miles, have you gone bunkers? What has her stuff got to do with anything? And why will you kick her out of the house, where do you want her to go at this time of the night?” Ryder asked

“That’s where you come in. I know mom And Ava will support me kicking her out of the house. Then you get into an argument with them, when she leaves the house, I want you to take her to my house” Miles said

“Take her to your house? A house you’ve never allowed even your wife to visit. What is going on Miles? I hope you haven’t fallen in love with her, she has a boyfriend” Ryder said

“What boyfriend? The one that is cheating on her with her sister? I was even planning their break up. And about the wife you talked about earlier, it was a CONTRACT MARRIAGE. Get that into your head” Miles said and Ryder shook his head.

“You’ve finally gone crazy. Just pray your wife, sorry, your contract wife doesn’t find out, you will put the poor girl in danger. She already doesn’t like her” he said and Miles sighed before leaving the house again.

“The feeling is mutual, they don’t like each other” Miles said

~WINNIE’S PLACE~

“You’ve been staring at the door for so long, are you expecting someone?” Angel asked Winnie who kept looking towards the entrance.

“Exactly. I wonder why he hasn’t showed up here for some days now” Winnie answered absentmindedly.

“It’s a guy afterall” Angel chuckled and Winnie came back to her senses.

“Its not like that Angel” She tried to explain

“So you finally got over Finn, speaking of him, I haven’t seen him since I came back” Angel said

“I haven’t seen him in a while too. He used to come here frequently” Winnie said.

“I miss him” Angel said and Winnie sighed

“When are you going to introduce father and daughter?” Winnie asked

“I really do not know. Miles has been extra these days and Beauty just love him a lot even without knowing that he is her real father” Angel said

“That reminds me, how did she later recognize you. I remember you said something about her memories being wiped” Winnie asked

“That’s true. It escaped my memories. She said she never forgot me, instead I didn’t trust her enough” Angel said

“Beauty is an adult In a child’s body, you can’t convince me to believe otherwise” Winnie said and Angel smiled

“I really think you should give him a chance to explain himself. He might have a reason for what he did” Winnie continued and Angel scoffed

“What stup*d reason does he have to burn my things and kick me out at night? An to think I was pregnant with his child”

“A pregnancy you didn’t let him know about. I’m sure that he wouldn’t have done that if he knew you were carrying his child. Just give him a chance, for Beauty’s sake at least.

“I will try”

“And your mom too” Winnie said and Angel rolled her eyes

Just then a headline came on the news.

“There was a prison break and many inmates escaped”

“What!!!

Wendy’s call came in immediately and Angel picked.

📞Did you see the news?”

📞Yes, I did”

📞 You need to be careful from now”

“You really need to let Miles know about his daughter. At least, the situation now calls for it. He can employee guards for you and Beauty” Winnie said when Angel dropped the call.

“Maybe I should just let Beauty stay with them for now” Angel said

They went about their activities as normal and calm as possible but Angel’s mind was with Beauty all these while until she got to a table that has a man and a lady in mask, she got scared a bit.

“What do you want sir, ma’am?” she asked and they removed their masks.

It turned out to be Richie and Brandy.

“I saw the news, that’s why we are here to warn you. The underboss will stop at nothing until he gets Beauty” Brandy said

“There is and underboss?” Angel asked and Brandy nodded

“He wants Beauty, he has had his eyes on her for a long time before we came into town” Brandy said and Angel looked at her somehow

“Not what you think, he wants her to be his own personal cyber guru. He have heard how good she is” Brandy explained

Angel sighed, just when she thought she was going to have some peace.
