“Long time no see Damien”. Damon smirked at the Emperor who now stood opposite him. They were both stood alone in the wide walkway not far from the huge gates. Though the Emperor wore his normal royal robe, his mask was still on.

“What are you doing here? I don’t remember owing you anything. Emperor Damien said his gaze looking like he was already fed up and Damon scoffed.

“Of course you owe me something! First the bronze medallion and secondly my wife–

“We’re not holding her captive. If you wanted her back you should have just sent a note rather than assebling your entire—

“And the medallion?! You think the army I brought are for getting back my wife only?!”. Damon snapped loudly..

“What do you need the bronze medallion for? From the looks of things you already have the silver one. Or aren’t those the Asuras standing behind you?”. Emperor Damien asked and Damon smiled.

“So what? You won’t return the medallion?! You want to keep what belongs to the demon clan?! Should i just report this whole thing to old Shenge up there!!–

“It would be a waste of the army if you report it to father”. Jurin smiled appearing beside the Emperor and he faced her.

“Little Phoenix? Thought you died in the competition, don’t tell me Damien resurrected you for his own personal use”. Damon scoffed looking at the Emperor disgustingly and the Emperor frowned back, before facing Jade.

“Where’s she? Lets hand her over so he quits sprouting nonsense”. The Emperor asked and before Jade could reply Sindura walked towards them sighing deeply as she glared at Damon who smiled back at her.

“Zucchini! Go bring her here!”. Damon ordered and Zucchini bowed before walking towards Sindura but the moment he touched her hand to drag her to Damon, Sindura bit his hand and he groaned loudly in pains.

“What do think you’re doing?!”. Damon shouted at Sindura who folded her arms at him.

“I’m not going with you! Everyone loves me here–

“You’re mistaken. Nobody loves you here”. Emperor Damien cut Sindura off and she faced him with widened eyes.

“Dammy! Why say that to my face!!”. Sindura snapped hurtfully at the Emperor and both Jade and Damon’s eyes widened.

“Da-mmy?”. Damon stuttered in shock before laughing out angrily.

“No wonder you didn’t feel anything special each time I call you that! She already gave you the pet name before me?!”. Jade also scoffed in annoyance and the Emperor quickly shook his head negatively.

“It’s not that it’s just–

“Ofcourse it was that!”. Sindura said rushing to hug Emperor Damien’s arm and everyone including the Emperor’s eyes widened.

“Step away from him you ugly demon!!”. Jade snapped loudly, rushing to push Sindura away from the Emperor and she fell to the ground.

“Sindura!”. Damon called rushing to help her up.

“Go back with your husband! I regret befriending you!”. Jade snapped harshly and Sindura scoffed getting up to face Jade.

“You think I don’t regret it also! If i didn’t end up with Damon you think Dammy would be yours?!”. Sindura shouted back.

“Stop calling him that!! That’s the pet name i gave him!!”. Jade snapped pulling Sindura’s tight and Sindura pulled hers also.

“Her tempers still intact, she is truly my Jade”. The Emperor smiling as he watched the two women fighting but suddenly Damon griped his collar from nowhere and everyone’s eyes widened.

The noise from the fighting ladies actually gathered alot of guards and servants around the scene.

“Tell me where you knew Sindura from?! Why does she call you Dammy?!”. Damon glared tightening his grip on the Emperor’s collar and the Emperor threw him a sharp glare.

“Let go, you don’t want us to make a fool of ourselves infront of these people”. The Emperor whispered to Damon who scoffed.

“Like i care. They’re your people not mine!”. Damon hissed and the Emperor held Damon’s hand tight then forcefully removed his grip from his collar.

And Damon instantly unshealthed his sword pointing it at the Emperor’s neck but before he could even blink Jade pushed Sindura off her, running towards Damon she jumped and kicked the sword off his hand and pointed her own sword on his neck making both Damon and Sindura’s eyes widened.

“When did she learn such ski||?”. Damon gasped open mouth, same with the onlookers and Jade smirked at him.

“Take your sword away from him!!”. Sindura snapped angrily and Jade stuck out her tongue at her irritatingly.

“I’ll spare your life if you would please, take your wife out of my D’s life”. Jade uttered and Damon broke into laughter while Sindura frowned at her.

“Who are you to order me! I’ll take her whenever I want to—

Damon paused when Jade pressed the sharp edge of the sword closer to his neck and he let out a deep in spitefulness.

“Okay. She’ll disappear from your D’s sight!!”. Damon spat h@ťěfully and Sindura blinked in confusion.

Then Jade withdrew her sword from Damon’s neck, but the moment she turned to face the Emperor Damon stood up to attack with his sword and the Emperor pushed Jade out of the way to his side, then he used his hand to grab the edge of Damon’s sword which began cutting his palm as it began bleeding.

Kai appeared at the scene and pulled out his sword at Damon, immediately every other palace guards pulled out their swords at the demons also, the Asuras instantly pointed their spears and gigantic axes at the palace guards also.

Jade eyes widened seeing the Emperor’s bleeding palm as he glared angrily at Damon, she made to stop Damon but the Emperor held her back with his other hand.

Damon himself wasn’t ready to let it go, as he only tried harder to pierce his sword into the Emperor’s chest this time around.

Then Sindura ran to Damon holding him back.

“Let’s just go. We’re outnumbered! This is their territory, we can’t keep looking for trouble like this Damon!”. Sindura said.

“Just shut up, you can’t stand seeing your Dammy hurt right?”. Damon grinned turning to face Sindura, but by the time he faced the Emperor back, the Emperor had already broken his dark sword with his bare palms and Damon blinked in shock, but before he could even digest what happened the Emperor used his powers to push him away and he flew backwards landing heavily on the ground he glared back at the Emperor.

“Do you know how hard it was acquiring that sword?! It was my late grandfather’s Damien!!!”. Damon shouted jumping back on his feet and one of the Asuras threw him an axe as he began storming towards the Emperor but Sindura came right in from of him.

“Just stop this Damon! You’ll only put us in more disadvantage!”. Sindura said taking the axe from Damon who took her hand holding it tightly he glanced at the Emperor who glared back at him.

“If it’s the medallion you’re waiting for I’ve sent it to the fourth realms already, Shenghai should have it by now”. The Emperor said and Damon’s eyes widened.

“You bastard! Did I send you to give it to him for me!!”. Damon shouted.

“Let’s just go, at least he isn’t with it so it’s better”. Sindura said walking out of the gate and Damon scoffed watching her leave.

“She thinks she can leave and return anytime she pleases?”. Damon sneered before giving the Emperor one last glance and he walked out of the palace gates, the Asuras followed suit and everyone heaved a sigh of relief.

The Emperor looked down at his bleeding palm he wanted to heal himself but stopped and faced Jade instead only to find her glaring at him.

“Thought you said she was only a childhood friend? How cone she gave you a nickname and said you two almost got married?”. Jade asked her arms wrapped as she glared at the Emperor.

“You can see my palm’s bleeding why not take care of it first”. The Emperor said showing her his bleeding palm and Jade only scoffed.

“Go give your demon Queen to heal it for you!”. Jade snapped before walking away and the Emperor’s eyes widened asthey followed her.

“You’re just going to walk away?! What kind of a lady are you?! You know what? I want the dumb you back, so i know you refused healing me because you can’t!”. The Emperor shouted going after Jade and everyone including Kai blinked in shock. They haven’t seen the Emperor so playful and going after a lady like that.

<FORBIDDEN FOREST>

“Mother! Mother! I got us meat!!”. Bad screamed running into their tiny hurt and her mother jumped out of the bed running happily to hug her tightly.

She looked completely different and tattered from her former self. Her skin completely dusty and her dress looked like it was made with rags.

“That’s my girl! Let’s go sell it at the boarder, then we’ll use the money we gain from it to travel to my brother’s place, i wrote to him and he’s ready to receive us”. Mistress Soni said and Bae smiled widely. Mistress Soni looked older than her age mostly because of their misfortunes.

“You’re going to leave our husband just like that Soni?! Where was your brother when our lord gave us all the great standard of living—

“Yeri just keep quiet okay! Lani was his wife not us! Did he ever stand up for us when she always belittled us and called our children lowly born?! And besides aren’t you supposed to be mourning your own children?! Aside from Nazia’s death your Asa has become a servant at the palace! I don’t want to mourn my only daughter like you so it’s best we leave for my brother’s place at the third province, though he’s mere night watchman in his district but he earns a lot to feed his barren wife, he’ll take my Bae as his only child and see to it that she marries a noble to restore our image”. Mistress Soni said and Bae smiled hugging her tight.

“You’re the best mother! And besides father isn’t even mourning any of his children aside Jun! He only cared about his dead son and no body else! So why must we be selfless for him! Is it because he’s blind now!!”. Bae snapped and Minister Wang who sat on the sandy floor in the small wretched looking hut, began crying holding tight to his walking stick.

After the lightening strike he actually became blind.

“Did you have to shout it so loudly?”. Mistress Yeri snapped at Bae who rolled eyes at her, then Mistress Yeri ran to meet him.

“Honey! Stop crying! You’re not blind! You can see, you can see very brightly!”. Mistress Yeri tried consoling.

“Jun! I want my only son! Where’s Jun!!”. Minister Wang cried loudly and both Mistress Soni and Bae broke into laughter before going to sit at their own corner of the hut. Mistress Yeri felt betrayed and went to sit at a corner, staring at the whole condition of the family she began crying.

“My Nazia’s dead and Asa the only light in my world is a mere slave at the Palace. If only that witch Lani repented earlier–

“Just shut up you hag!!! My mother!! My mother wouldn’t hage done anything bad if you and the other prostitutes never stole my father from her!! She only did what she did to protect both i and my sister!! You all ruined our happy family!! You foolish lowlives ruined our lives!!”. Mina shouted from outside the hut. That’s where she was forced to stay since she kept raining insults on everyone.

Her legs were completely useless and were slowly decaying, she had actually received all the her strikes on her legs and they became paralyzed. She looked the most pitiful amongst the whole family members as her hair was completely bald, Mistress Yeri had helped her shave it completely being bald in only her middle head made it scary for everyone at night.

“How i wish my mother haunts you all in your dreams!! If only you all where the ones who died in her stead!!”. Mina shouted, but nobody replied them.

Then Cherry arrived from her long journey looking so tired and haggered, her long hair dirty and scattered and she held a black which looked very heavy, as she walked past Mina who glared at her and went into the hut.

“You’re back? Did you sell anything? All our jewels and clothes? Did you sell them all?”. Mistress Yeri asked and Cherry nodded smiling as she handed the huge sack to Mistress Yeri who smiled widely but opening the sack, she saw it was filled with stones, giant stones and her eyes widened as she offloaded the entire sack to the ground and immediately everyone in the hurt gasp.

“Where’s the money you earned from selling all our stuffs Cherry?!”. Mistress Yeri said and Cherry began crying as she searched the sack again.

“No wonder the merchant told me not to open the sack till i get home. He conned me!!”. Cherry said crying loudly.

“You mean you sold all our stuffs in exchange for stones?! Now tell me why you didn’t die with your mother!! You useless thing!!”. Mistress Yeri snapped kicking Cherry on the head and she began crying so loudly.

“Take it easy on her junior mother! She’s the only normal sibling i have remaining!”. Bae sneered from where she sat with her mother.

“Just leave them be, we’ll no longer be concerned with them by tomorrow”. Mistress Soni said and Cherry’s eyes widened as she ran to them.

“You’re leaving tomorrow? Please take me with–

“No, get lost!”. Mistress Soni snapped pushing Cherry away and she fell to the ground in tears.

“You won’t reach safely! As long as my mother remains dead you all shall–

Mina paused when she saw a dark shadow in the woods and she blinked frightfully narrowing her gaze to see who it is, only for her eyes to widen when she finally saw his face.

“The Emperor?”. Mina muttered under her breath staring at the shadow but suddenly it disappeared and she blinked profusely trying to understand what just happened.

<PALACE>
<SERVANTS COURT>

“You think your father’s status still matters in this city?! Breaking two crocks?! Do you know how expensive those are?!”. The head maid shouted at Asa whose head was lowered and all the servants present in the court, grinned in low voices.

“I’m very sorry”. Asa mumbled out and the head maid scoffed before pulling her ear tightly and Asa whimpered in pains.

“You think your sorry matters? Try to remember back then in your father’s mansion, do they take sorry as an apology?! No! Instead they make you oay for it and you will!! No food for you in this palace for a month! And you won’t get paid for a month also, now leave my presence!!”. The head maid said pushing Asa away and she landed on her b*tt on the floor.

Her eyes became glassy but she swallowed it as she crawled on her knees to where the head maid stood.

“What if I get you another pot? Would you pay me?! I really need the money, i don’t even have enough clothes in my wardrobe, amongst all the maids my wardrobe is the blankest and almost empty”. Asa pleaded holding the Head maid’s knees but the headmaid kicked her away and other servants giggled silently.

“No food or payment for a month!”. The head maid finalized before walking out of the court and Asa’s tears finally fell.

“Poor you Asa. You’re surely going to starve to death”. One of the servants said and others laughed.

Asa stood up on her feet and left the hall, walking down the hallway to her room, she was about going into her room, when Kai arrived from the opposite direction, with two heavy bags in his hands seeing Asa standing outside the door, his eyes widened and he immediately turned to walk away, but he didn’t really leave he only stood at the corner waiting for her to leave but Asa could still see his shadow reflecting on the floor and she wiped off her tears completely.

“I can still see you”. She said trying so hard not to make her voice crack and Kai slowly came out from the corner.

“The Emperor–I mean Jade, your sister told me to give you these”. Kai said walking to her as he avoided her gaze then he handed the two bags to her and turned his back on her.

“Tissues are in there also, with…socks incase you’re cold….and a few…soft sheets and blankets with–

“If Jade bought them, then how come you know so much”. Asa asked staring at his back and Kai only cleared his throat.

“I went to the market for her–

“You’re a grand guard and not a normal slave, not even the Emperor can send to go get flimsy stuffs like these from the market”. Asa sighed and Kai became short of words.

“I…I’ll relay your message of thanks to them”. Kai said bowing slowly even though he was backing her and was already walking away when..

“Thanks”. Asa suddenly said and went into her room with two bags.

Kai stopped on his track and turned to face her room door, he took in a deep breath breath and began leaving but he soon changed his direction to the servants court.

“He said a few…but isn’t this too much for a mere servant like me?”. Asa asked checking out the stuffs Kai brought for her.

The first bags were filled with tissues, socks, sheets and duvets of pretty colours, mostly purple her favorite colour and Asa blinked staring at it, not knowing how to react, then right underneath the same bag, varietes of perfumes, hair wash, body wash concoctions and scented candles were starked there and Asa’s eyes widened staring at them, before frowning.

“Is he trying to say i smell?”. Asa scoffed smelling the outfit she was putting on.

Then she checked the second bag and her eyes widened instantly, it was filled with lots of pretty robes and garments, she even recognized one of the undergarment as the same model as the ones she had back at home and smiled trying it on, then she got up to try it on immediately.

“He has great eyes! This suits me perfectly!”. Asa smiled happily then she wore the socks and continued ransacking the bag, she smiled when she saw a small basket of fruits was hidden underneath and she opened it and began eating from it.

“Can’t believe he was too shy to give me this. Was it because i told him to avoid me? He’s so clueless”. Asa scoffed, then slowly she smiled as she continued eating only to notice a tiny twinkle from inside the bag and she checked it, but her eyes widened instantly.

“This is my jewelries box!! How did he get this?!”. Asa asked hugging the box tight as she sat on her bed, then she opened the box to check if everything was still intact and they were, except that she saw a beautiful necklace she didnt recognize.

“When did I purchase this?”. Asa asked as she stared at the necklace, caressing it with her thumb.

NIGHT TIME..
<THE EMPEROR’S CHAMBER>

“Where’s she?–

“She refused coming to your chamber your majesty”. Kai cut him off and the Emperor who was pacing around faced him.

His white night garment shone brightly with the moon outside in the sky.

“Why?! Cause i had a female friend before i met her?—

“No because you said it to her face that you had a female friend and still didn’t deny the marriage allegations”. Kai replied cutting him off again and the Emperor walked to him glaring at him.

“You don’t have anyone you like don’t you? What’s with you acting like you’re not on my side–

“Of course I’m on no one’s side your majesty”. Kai replied and the Emperor knocked his head.

“Interrupt me again and you’ll be posted to the boarder!”. The Emperor thr_@tened.

“Sorry your majesty”. Kai apologized bowing slightly.

“You know I’ll be going to her room instead!”. The Emperor said and began walking out of the chamber while Kai’s gaze followed him, then his mind went to Asa.

‘Did she like them?’. He asked himself.

<JADE’S CHAMBERS>

“So he wouldn’t come if I refuse to go to him? No problem! Two can play the game!”. Jade muttered with a frown on her face as she began pacing round the room.

She looked immensely pretty in her almost transparent white night robe, her hair was loose and reached her buttocks, and her bare face looking as dazzling as ever.

“Jade, Open up”. The Emperor’s voice came from outside and Jade jumped in excitement running to sleep on the bed immediately not caring how the Emperor planned to open the locked door.

“Jade”. The Emperor called again and Jade rolled eyes closing her eyes on the bed, her long black hair occupying the other empty pillows.

‘Just come in already you slow thing!’. Jade scoffed in her head and the Emperor who suddenly heard it, smiled before opening the door effortlessly and walking in slowly, his eyes caught Jade’s angelic figure he smiled.

‘I heard the door creak has come in?’. Jade asked herself since she laid backing the door, she turned to check the door and almost flinched in fear when she saw the Emperor laying behind her, his gaze wide opened and staring affectionately at her.

“You scared me”. Jade said holding her chest tight and the Emperor moved closer wrapping his hands around her waist, placing his head on her neck, he sniffed in her honey scent.

‘I missed this’. The Emperor thought as he took in more of her scent while Jade only smiled, enjoying his perfect nose pressed to her neck skin.

“Why don’t you just tell me now”. Jade muttered and the Emperor faced her, their faces barely any inches away.

“Tell you what?”. Emperor Damien asked and Jade brought her face to his ear.

“That you love me”. She whispered and the Emperor grinned, while Jade blinked at him.

“You can tell my father but not me? Do you want me to force it out of you?!”. Jade sneered getting pissed and the Emperor only smiled widely, then suddenly his gaze diverted down to her chest and his eyes eyes git hoiked to them.
