“Sindu just come out now or do you want me to bring down the door?”. Damon asked his tone containing a great amount of thr_@t, as he knocked on Sindura’s door room door, but no answer came from within.

“Sindu? Sindura!!”. Damon yelled using his powers to burn down the door. Then he walked in, his gaze laced with anger as his eyes searched round the whole room.

“I’ve really been easy on you lately haven’t I?”. Damon smirked, going to check behind the bed only for him to notice the window was wide open and his eyes widened as he saw a rope tied to the window rails and down to the ground outside.

“That wrench”. Damon spat turning to go after her but Zucchini appeared in front of him suddenly going on his knees immediately.

“Your majesty. I just received news from the people guarding the border that they saw the Demon Queen jump over our Kingdom’s fence to the tenth province!”. Zucchini said and Damon’s eyes widened.

“What?!!”. He shouted.

“Get a troop ready!! I’ll be bringing back my wife”. Damon muttered deadly, his fist balled as he walked out of the chamber.

<FOURTH REALMS>

“What did you just say?”. Lord Shanghai asked with widened eyes as he walked towards Jade who gulped down nothing, then Lord Shanghai bent on his knees right in front of her just to have a closer look of her.

“I mean I’m Jade from the tenth—

“How have you been Jurin?”. Shanghai cut her off reaching to Jade’s hair and stroking it and Jade blinked in confusion.

“Ju-Juri? I’m Jade not Jurie”. Jade mumbled and Shanghai chuckled, getting up to his feet.

“It wasn’t easy making you this dumb but It’s worth it”. Shanghai replied walking back to his throne, then he sat on it and Jade only stared after him in puzzlement.

Shanghai sat staring at Jade like he had known her for a very long time, Jade only stayed on her knees staring back at him like a lost child.

“You may stand. You’ve never knelt in my presence before”. Lord Shanghai said and Jade slowly stood up.

“Do you want to know who gave me the name you and everyone else keeps messing up?”. Lord Shanghai asked, but Jade only stood staring lostly, wondering what he was talking about.

“It was you Jurin”. Shanghai stated and Jade blinked in daze.

“How? When did I–

“A very long time ago when you were still a little god. My name was originally Weijin, Lord Weijin meaning Great and Golden, but for some reason my little daughter had a problem with it and helped me change it”. Lord Shanghai said smiling lightly like he could still remember when everything had occurred.

Jade only blinked blankly, looking completely lost.

“How have your past lives been treating you?”. Lord Shanghai asked calmly.

“Past lives? You mean the one I spent in the tenth province. It wasn’t all roses but i enjoyed the little time i spent with Dammy–

“You don’t need him. Neither do you need the tenth province. I think you’ve learnt your lessons and should return back here immediately”. Lord Shanghai said and Jade’s eyes widened.

“What do you mean by” I can’t go back to my realm?”. Jade asked fearfully and Lord Shanghai stood up from his throne walking to her.

“Before you being Jade you are my daughter Jurin, the celestial princess of the heavens and god of war who got expelled and sent to the lower realm as a form of punishment–

“But I’m Jade the daughter of minister Wang and I’m really dumb also, Dammy says i can’t prounce more than seven al-pha-b-ets cause they’ll come out badly–

“Pronounce not prounce”. Shanghai corrected and Jade nodded.

“I made you that way. You were too bitter to be yourself, staying clueless helps you heal”. Shanghai said moving closer to her and Jade only got more confused.

“Tell me. Would you like me to return back the memories I seized from you?”. Shanghai asked.

“I lost my memory?”. Jade gasped and made to place a hand on her head, but she shifted back.

“I just want you to please help me reincarnate–

“You can’t! You’ve wasted all your chances! It’s high time you return back to the fourth realms where you belong!”. Shanghai snapped and Jade flinched fearfully.

“You’ll get an answer to your questions when your memory returns”. Shanghai said and before Jade could blink he placed a hand on her head and immediately a white light shone beneath his palm on her head and Jade’s eyes widened when the memories of her past lives and even when she was the god of war came rushing in her head.

Then Shanghai let go of her and her eyes shone gold instantly while her face formed into a frown, her fist tightened as she glared at Lord Shanghai who gave her a raised eyebrow.

“Don’t tell me you’re still so bitter Jurin”. Lord Shanghai glared back at Jade who scoffed.

“Bitter? Who threw me down from the lower realms just to please his people?!”. Jurin snapped back in anger and Shanghai’s fist tightened.

“You have responsibilities to take care of here–

“I have none. I don’t need you to send me back anymore, now that i have my memories I can just return back on my own!–

“Jurin!! You should know why you never got what you wanted! You kept acting rash and that was why you died tragically in the lower realm!!”. Shanghai sneered, then he began moving slowly round Jurin who held an angry face as her father stared disappointedly at her.

“In your first life you died recklessly because of how you wanted to make money so badly. You ended up getting ki||ed by a mere minister for stealing his precious jewel!–

“You made me a prostitute in that life! I only wanted to buy myself out of the foolish contract of sleeping with rich men. I took the jewel cause it was capable of setting me free from the torture i faced!”. Jurin glared at her getting red with tears.

“The second one? What happened then? ki||ing your father from that realm cause he arranged your wedding with a stranger–

“You know what truly happened Shanghai. The man you gave me as a father tried to rape me a night to my wedding, he had stared at me so toxically. I only ki||ed him to defend myself, but a servant found out and i had to get persecuted for it”. Jurin muttered and Shanghai sighed stopping on his track while standing next to her.

“I’m guessing you died unfairly in your other lives too?”. Lord Shanghai asked but no reply came from Jurin who looked like a whole new anger was building up in her.

“You should remember how you died in your fifth life then. Why did your Dammy ki|| you?”. Shanghai asked in a mocking tone and Jurin finally blinked for the first time since she regained her memory.

“You don’t know?”. Shanghai asked and Jurin kept quiet.

“I also don’t know. I thought you would know, but it seems Damien’s the only who holds the answer, but it happened in his past life so obviously he has no memory of it—

“Either way. I’m not staying here, I h@ťě your face and everyone else here that ever looked down on me! You should find someone else who would follow in your footsteps cause it certainly wouldn’t be me!”. Jade said and Shanghai frowned.

“Then it’s better you die then. Because my realm wouldn’t be in disarray when I have a daughter somewhere. It’s best I have none”. Shanghai said and Jurin nodded with a sad smile.

“Neither do I need you. I’ll be returning back to the tenth province as a reborn, not any daughter of a god!”. Jurin snapped and turned to leave.

“Without my permission you can’t get reincarnated you should know that–

“But you promised me she would return”. The Emperor’s deep voice said from behind them and Jurin’s eyes widened when she saw him. He wasn’t putting on his mask, neither did he wear his usual black, instead he wore his royal robe and his perfect face and sharp eyes were lost staring at her also.

‘She looks different’. The Emperor thought as he tried figuring out what exactly went wrong with Jade. He noticed the innocent and playful look and aura which Jade always possessed was absent in the girl before him, as she stood more confidently and smartly unlike Jade who was always clumsy with her standing posture. Then Jurin instantly removed her gaze from him and the Emperor’s mind was made up.

‘She isn’t Jade’. He concluded in his head his fist tightening and eyes turning red with anger as he walked towards Shanghai and Jurin. The Jade he knew would be happy to see he came for her, and would have been jumping excitedly but right now, the girl before him was all about avoiding his gaze .

“How did you get here Damien—

“Where’s Jade?”. Emperor Damien cut Shanghai off and Shanghai smiled before pointing at Jurin beside the Emperor.

“Has she gotten reincarnated already? For how long?”. The Emperor said ignoring where Shenghai was pointing and took in her lower lip.

“She’s standing right next to you–

“She’s not Jade! You’re not playing tricks with me right Shanghai because the girl standing right next to me isn’t Jade!!”. The Emperor made his anger visible and Shanghai smiled, while Jurin held her robe tight, then Shanghai faced her, his smile still so fresh on his face.

“Are you sure you still want to go back? He doesn’t seem to want you anymore”. Shanghai said and the Emperor frowned in confusion, as he glanced at Jurin who looked away from him.

“Is she really Jade?”. Emperor Damien asked his gaze not to leave Jurin for a split second.

“Yes…and No. She’s my daughter Jurin–

“You had a daughter?”. The Emperor asked in puzzlement not getting anything and Shanghai nodded.

“Yes, I have a daughter. A bright, smart and fearless daughter who went against our rules in the heavens and got expelled to the lower realm. Your realm Damien”. Shanghai said and the Emperor’s gaze on Jurin widened.

“The daughter you expelled, became Jade in the tenth province?!”. Emperor Damien asked.

“Cause i wanted her to. She was all proud and dominant about her powers so I made her the opposite of who she was. I transformed her into the dumb, carefree Jade she was—

“Nonsense. Shanghai I came here for Jade, go bring her out right now!!!”. The Emperor shouted.

“My father’s right. I am J–

“Shut up”. The Emperor cut Jurin off and she kept quiet as the Emperor’s glare met her.

“You sound nothing like her. You might have her face but you’re not her!!”. Emperor Damien said, staring at Jurin h@ťěfully.

“She’s the lower version of me Damien! Of course I’m her!!—

“I told you to keep shut, didn’t I?! Do you and father over here take lives in the lower realms as a joke!! You both think cause you’re gods you can do wh@ťěver you please!!!”. The Emperor yelled, facing Shanghai angrily.

“Damien–

“Expelling your daughter into my world and making me fall in love with her only for you to tell me she’s someone else?! You want a war right?!”. The Emperor thr_@tened and a tear fell from Jurin’s eyes.

“A war Damien? Because of a lady—

“No because you broke the rules of life!!! The rule of the heavens!!! And the rule of the tenth realm! You should have just ki||ed her if she offended you all, while sending her to reflect on herself in the lower realms?!! What privilege does she have over every sinner!! Is that how you send other gods who commit an offense to the lower realm also?! No right?! But because she’s your daughter the rules had to change!!—-

“Damien!!!!

“Bring Jade back or we’ll really settle this with a battle. The heavens deserve a better god and I don’t mind replacing you”. Emperor Damien thr_@tened darkly and with a final glare on dazed Shanghai, he turned to leave but Jurin held his hand and he turned to give a cold look.

“I-i want to come with you–

“Aren’t you dead? Didn’t your own father ki|| you in front of everyone? Is there a way you can go back?”. The Emperor asked in a ruthless scoff and Jurin gulped down as more tears fell from her eyes.

“Jade’s the one I ki||ed, not Jurin. I needed her here to take over from me–

“And you can have her. But be sure to send Jade back”. The Emperor cut Shanghai off.

“I told you she’s me. Why are you being so cold?”. Jurin asked but with no reply the Emperor turned his back on her and left.

“Can’t believe he thr_@tened me with a war. I really underestimated him and Damon”. Lord Shanghai scoffed in rage as he paced round his throne.

Jurin stopped crying as she wiped her tears with the back of her palms, then she faced her father.

“Goodbye”. She said and turned to leave.

“Wh@ťěver. Just prove to that stubborn Emperor you’re Jade and make him forget his intentions about weighing a war against us, unless he wants the whole universe to be destroyed!!”. Shanghai said sternly and Jurin said nothing as she began walking out of the large court.

<PALACE OF YONGXI>

Asa stood at the palace gates. The well at the maid’s quarters was under construction so she and the other servants came to fetch water at the well close to the palace main gates which was like twenty miles away from the servants quarters.

“I heard the civil service exams will be held tomorrow morning, did you apply? It’s our only chance of becoming a noble instead of being servants all our lives”. A female servant asked the other, beside Asa as they both fetched from the well, same as Asa.

“No, I didn’t send my form. I’m not smart enough to take the exams. I heard the Emperor will be setting it himself and that eagle-eyed Kai will be the only one invigilating the whole system. How do you expect me to pass without any help? ” The other servant said and every other servant smiled.

“That Kai can be really annoying at times. Just like when he pushed Mori because she was putting that proud thing in her rightful place!”. A servant scoffed glaring at Asa who was busy filling her second crock with water and the other servants followed suit in the glaring.

Because of the constant working under the sun, Asa had experienced numerous sun burns and her skin wasn’t like before anymore. Though she was still pretty compared to every other servant, she looked completely different from her past self.

“Well let’s keep that aside! At least we servants can still apply for the civil service exams to become ministers unlike someone whose family name has been wiped off the whole Yongxi register”. The same fat servant who had been warned against talking trash to Asa said.

“Poor thing..but how I wish she was a slave with no say at all, just like her family did to others”. Another servant said.

“Her innocent skin won’t be able to endure the harsh treatment”. Another servant said, expecting a reaction from Asa who ignored them.

Then Asa was done filling the second crock with water. She packed her scattered hair up in a bun, with a rope.

Then she raised up a crock of water over her head, and was already walking away with the hope of coming back for the other crock only for her to hear a crash behind her.

And her eyes widened when she turned only to see her second crock of water wasting on the sandy ground, the crock was already broken.

The servants then giggled annoyingly at her.

“Sorry the stone in my hand slipped and broke your crock”. A servant darker than the others said and the others laughed..

“Quick!! Come up with an excuse to give the head maid, we’ll back you up!”. The fat servant Mori said and the others laughed mockingly.

Asa glared angrily at them but turned to go and drop the crock she was carrying in the servants quarters.

“She didn’t react? Where’s she going?” The fat servant asked her fellow who gasped.

“What if she’s on her way to report us to Kai?!”. She muttered and the fat servant scoffed before moving closer to leaving Asa.

“You should know Kai is on a different level from you! He’ll surely grow more influential since he serves the Emperor so stop bothering him with your problems!!!!”. The fat servant shouted loudly for Asa to hear and Asa was forced to stop on her track.

But the moment she turned to face them, the huge gate opened wide and Jurin walked confidently in, her head up high, her pretty long black hair was tied in a very tight ponytail and she held a straight face as she walked. while Sindura walked beside her dressed completely in white as she used her scarf to cover her face while she stared around in awe.

Asa’s eyes widened instantly and the crock in her head fell to the ground and the content spilling while she stared at her in shock.

“Hey!! You’re in big trouble for breaking two crocks now!!!”. The fat servant yelled but seeing that Asa didn’t reply to her, she turned to where Asa was staring and in shock she fell to the ground.

“It’s the demon girl, she’s alive!!”. The fat servant shouted and everyone, even the guards, turned in that direction and their eyes widened also.

Jade saw Asa staring at her but ignored her till she walked past her.

“She just ignored me”. Asa muttered hurtfully.

‘Is she a servant now? Why?’. Jurin thought as she continued walking.

“Why are they all staring at you like they saw a ghost?”. Sindura asked as they began approaching the main palace.

“I am a ghost to them I think”. Jurin replied and Sindura nodded.

‘If I stay here Damon won’t be able to find me’. Sindura smiled to herself as she followed Jurin, then Jurin stopped walking to face her.

“Why don’t you look around for a little, I have somewhere to be at”. She said to Sindura who nodded and before Sindura could speak, Jurin walked away.

“That’s what happens when you befriend a stranger you met at the market”. Sindura sighed and began walking away.

<EMPEROR’S CHAMBERS>

“The questions for tomorrow’s exam”. The Emperor said, handing a scroll to Kai.

Though his head was clouded with what happened yesterday at the fourth realms he still had to set the exam questions.

Kai bowed and left the chamber with the scroll.

“You??!”. The Emperor could hear Kai gasping from outside and a frown appeared on his face as he stood up from his desk to the window, his fist tightening as he stared out of the window.

“What?!–How—-

“Can I go in?”. Jurin cut Kai off with a smile and then she walked into the chamber only to see the Emperor staring out through the window..

“You brought the demon Queen along?”. The Emperor’s cool but alarming voice asked and Jurin slowly walked to stand beside him looking out the same window, her eyes widened when she saw Sindura making friends with a lot of servants and the servants in return idolized her.

“You used to stare at her alot and it continues now”. Jurin scoffed lowly and the Emperor faced her instantly.

“How do you know that?”. Emperor Damien asked and Jurin took his right hand into hers, staring deep into his eyes.

“I told you I was Jade. I act a little different now which you’re not familiar with but that was because my father made me act all childish. Now I have my memories back but I’m still Jade”. Jurin said and the Emperor only stared at her for a while before returning his gaze back to the window.

“The old you was better–

“You found me annoying–

“Don’t cut me off when I’m talking to you. Plus…Sindura was a childhood friend–

The Emperor wasn’t done when Jade scoffed at him and his eyes widened facing her.

“You call her name so calmly, but you always shouted Jade! Jade! When it came to me”. Jurin mimicked with a frown.

“I always shouted your name cause you were always up to something crazy”. The Emperor scoffed back.

“Oh please spare me the long talk”. Jade rolled her eyes, but then she looked back at him smiling at him, he gave her an arched eyebrow.

“You’re very gorgeous without your mask on, and the royal robe looks so good on you”. Jade complimented her usual sheepish smile, and the Emperor looked away from her, clearing his throat.

Getting no reply Jurin walked towards the huge bed but the Emperor’s hand wrapped her waist from behind and he pulled her to him, making her chest hit his softly and their eyes locked.

“If you’re my Jade. Then prove it”. The Emperor muttered in a soft hush tone

His gaze then went down to Jurin’s lips, and before Jurin could blink the Emperor placed his lips on hers kissing her even more passionately than the first time they kissed, and Jurin shut her eyes close as she rested her hands on his chest.

And finally the long awaited sparks of light came, and the Emperor smiled happily as he deepened the kiss wrapping his two hands around Jurin’s waist, pulling her more possessively towards him.

The couple was forced to break the kiss when a very loud horn was blown from outside and they looked out the window, only to see Damon walking in through the palace Gates with his army and Jurin’s eyes widened while the Emperor’s gaze darkened.

Damon walked right into the gate, his presence screaming terror as everyone ran for their lives.

Then he scanned through the area with his sharp eyes though he saw no glance of Sindura he recognized her scent and he let out his usual charming smirk.

But then his sharp eyes caught the Emperor and jade who were staring at him from his chambers window, which was way high up and Damon glared darkly at them.

Though the main palace was very far from the main gates, Damon’s sharp eyes could still see them so clearly.

“Damien you womanizer!!!! Bring out my woman now or I take yours with me!!!!”. Damon thr_@tened loudly and the Emperor took Jurin’s hand, holding it tightly, he glared back at Damon through his window.

“Bastard”. The Emperor sneered…
