He had been always been a cold, dark, crazy, ruthless and mysterious vampire ever since his childhood. No one scares him.. just no one.

The moment Darko heard he now has a brother, it sounded like a thr_@t to him. But knowing that the blood of a human run through Logan, he persume the gods definitely won’t choose such a weakling.

However, reality punched him on his guts. His younger brother will be above him. The Shadowbrook he had dreamt of ruling will now be someone’s. That crushed and he h@ťěd Logan and his father from that day.

He saw how foolish Carson acted on saving his sweet little soul mate which cost him his strength.

Seeing this, Darko managed to manipulate the court to ki|| Logan but his father protected him and swore it was a human and that he’ll take him away. That fueled Darko, but the court agreed to make a test.

The result showed Logan was a completely human. He could remember the relax look on Carson as he stared at Logan with pure love.

Carson never look at him that way. He had always been a cold father and a cold bondmate to his mother. His mother left to marry another Lord after Carson found his soulmate.

Just everything destroyed because of Logan. His perfect ruthless family and dreams was destroyed by him.

“It seems you’re hiding something from me Darko?” Logan’s question snapped him back to reality.

The fact that he felt his word, got his head going wild.

“You’re overthinking Zarek. I’ve been with a woman who turned out to be a witch. I’ve loved her for many months before realizing what she is. A witch and a vampire cannot be together. The court won’t accept this…”

“Then f-__-k the court. Yunno, there are many things about what you and that white haired dude said about my past. About the human poisoning me and wanting to ki|| me.. it sounds like a f-__-king lie..” Logan spoke.

“She is getting into your head. I’m your brother, why should I lie to you? We are the same. I’m trying to protect you” Darko snapped. He lied but he had learnt the craft to control his heartbeat. One of the harsh training he recived when he was little.

“Then why are you so riled up? I can protect myself, you don’t have to worry”

“Hm” Darko shifted his gaze to Amelia who was quite in shock.

“Fine” Darko finally spoke after a while. He looked back at Logan. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you if things get messy while you have her around”

With this, he spun around and left with the guards.

(NEW YORK… TWO DAYS AGO)

Jasper and Charlotte walked into an apartment and spot a guy with glasses on, busy with his computer. His room was a bit rough with device all over.. he is a scammer.

“Hey sup, Benny” Charlotte greeted dropping her back walking towards him.

“Cool” Benny replied, adjust his glasses.

“So how is it going?” She asked.

“Just a minute” Benny stated as he continue typing furiously on his system. He tap the last button and sigh.

“Done, I found it”

Jasper stepped closer, staring at the screen.

“That’s so many f-__-king miles away” He mumbled.

“It’s Shadowbrook. A strong, dangerous city ruled by vampires. I wouldn’t have been able to gain access if it wasn’t for my father’s influence” Benny smiled eating an apple from the table.

“How do we get there” Charlotte asked dipping her hand into her jean trousers.

“I have a plan, but it won’t be easy, also it’s pretty illegal. But since I also have interest on going there, I’ll definitely make it work” Benny said. He is the last son of a famous Tycoon in the country. His father had some business with Darko once before. All he have to do is to bribe his father’s assistant and he’ll have a way to get to Shadowbrook.

“How do you even know that guy. He’s a f-__-king genius” Jasper said to Charlotte as he drives them back to the dorm.

“I saved him from some @$$h0les trying to mess with him. Ever since then, he’s my buddy. He kinda have a crush on me and will do wh@ťěver I ask” Charlotte replied pressing her phone and Jasper chuckled.

“I miss Amy” Jasper mumbled. “And Kali too”

Charlotte smiled and mumbled.

“I hope they are alright”

“No way” Charlotte lips parted staring at the city by the window. It was d@mn massive and beautiful.

Jasper was also stun too.

“This is crazier than I thought” Charlotte muttered.

“I know right?”

“Hey” Benny called glancing over his seat while his driver take them to their destination.

“This is a safe part of Shadowbrook. My father own a house here. We can stay in the same room Charlie” Benny winked at her.

“Eww no” She rolled her eyes and Benny pouted.

“Young master, your father is going to ki|| me once he find out I bought you here” The driver panic.

“You’re still going to die if you don’t obey. I’ll talk to my father and make sure you look innocent. I told him I’m on a vacation at Atlanta.. he do listen to me”

“It’s not about that. Just don’t wander around cus, humans are not treated well here” The driver said.

Jasper frowned at his word.

“I’ve heard you. I won’t wander around”

“Okay, what ever you do. Do not near the castle” The driver said.

“Why? What if my friends are in the castle?” Charlotte asked.

“Is your friend a vampire?”

“She is a human. Well another, he is an hybrid and last one. She is a pure blood Vampire”

“Cool, I can’t wait to meet them” Benny laughed lightly.

“Did you just say hybrid?” The driver asked.

“Yeah, his name is Logan” Jasper responded.

“There’s only one hybrid” The driver muttered. “A piece of advice little one. That your hybrid friend, do not go anywhere near him and as your human friend. I’m sorry but I don’t think she’ll still be alive. And as for the last one, a pure blood vampire. She is probably a noble one at the castle…”

“What do you mean Amelia might not be alive?” Charlotte freaked out.

“She is a human. If she is in the castle then, she is a slave. Please don’t near there”

Charlotte and Jasper exchanged a look.

Toby attire was soaked in blood, his face and body paled and filled with bruises. He could barely keep his eyes open.

“Look at you dog” Naomi’s voice sounded as she approached him. She raised his chin up so he could look at her.

“You look like a piece of $h|t. How could you defy me for that mere little rat who would soon be burn alive before the court” She sip her hideous claws in and Toby yelped in pain.

“How dare you call me a Ɓîtçh”

“Just ki|| me if you’re so upset I called you that” He choked and laughed lightly. “Or are you gonna miss my Ďïčk?”

Naomi dipped her claws deeper and Toby let out a groan.

“You must really think you’re so special. Let me guess, you’re the one who bought Amelia to this place”

“Are you scared of her?”

“Why should I be?”

“You should be scared Naomi. Cus once my Logan gets himself and realize what you motherf-__-kers had some to him. Hell will break loose”

“You’re wrong” A deep, powerful voice sounded by the entrance. Darko stepped in with a cold look.

Toby didn’t fidget in fear like he always do at the sight of him. In fact, he want this to end. He was glad Logan helped Amelia last night, that is a start.

Even if Logan didn’t interfere, he would have done wh@ťěver in his power and help Amelia out.

“Dog” Darko called tilting his head.

‘Dog’ Just how much Toby h@ťěd that name.

“My name is Toby Keith…”

He couldn’t finish his word as Darko dive a silver sprinkled knife to his stomach.

Toby eyes widened at the familiar hellish pain. No, not the f-__-king knife. The last time this happened, he almost lost his life to just one stab…

“You’ve been a bad dog” Darko whispered, drawing out the knife and diving it again.

Two stab? Toby gasped, blood spilling out of his mouth.

“A really bad one” Darko gave him another stab.

“Argh!” His cries made Naomi’s eyes flickered. What is this strange feeling.

“You left to bring that witch?” Darko growled into his ear as Toby shivered in so much pain.

He gave him to fourth stab and Toby got close in losing his conciousness.

When he stabbed Logan, he knew he one day pay for it. A painful smile spread on Toby’s lips. Is this the end for him? At least his friend and Amelia is alright. He could only send his prayers..

“Just what were you thinking defying me?” Darko growled and then the fifth stab came.

“That’s enough!” Naomi snapped behind and Darko slowly turn to look at her.

“We still need him. I hope you know what I mean” Naomi said trying not to make her voice tremble. She h@ťě the scene.. deep down, she doesn’t want Toby dead.

Darko eyes squinted as he drew out the knife from Toby’s flesh, blood followed the tip, wetting the floor. He unchained Toby and let his body fall to the floor.

“Very well then. If he survive then so be it. However Naomi, the next time you lie to my face again. I’ll forget the fact that you are my sister. I guess teaching you the strategy of controlling your heartbeat was a mistake”

Naomi froze on her spot as Darko walk pass her.

“Don’t even think of helping him” He warned and left.

Casting one last glance onto the vampire dying slowly, Naomi reluctantly left.

After several minutes, Nikita appeared and her eyes widened like that of the moon.

“Oh $h|t Toby!!” She exclaimed insanely.

“I..s he going to survive?!” Nikita paced around the room. She was freaking out and even crying.

Toby was laid in her bed with five stabs and his skin getting paled.

“This is my first time seeing your tears. Calm down Nikki..” Nkita’s friend, Moira assured.

“I can’t.. I can’t lose him okay. It’s silver sprinkled knife for heaven sake. Five stabs.. oh please, there should be a solution” Nikita yelled.

“I’m on it” Moira replied mixing some medicines. She is othe daughter of the castle physician, really brilliant.

“How did you even find him?” Moira asked curiously.

“It was a maid who surprisingly took me there. I think someone sent the maid but I don’t care to know who. I just want him to be fine”

Moira finally got the potion she need and pour it into Toby mouth. His color went back to normal but his wound didn’t heal.

“It’ll give us time. There’s only one way to heal this completely. A bondmate or soulmate’s blood, that’s the only solution for now, cus the wound is brutal for him”

“A mate blood” Nikita muttered. She immediately pull up her sleeve.

“Use mine” She offered.

“What if you aren’t his mate? It won’t work”

‘I want to sink my fangs onto your neck, will that be okay?’

Amelia’s mind lingered on Logan’s word. The fact that she was willing to offer her blood to him felt strange.

Will it hurt?

After finding out Logan was a vampire, she had made a small research about it.

They mark their mate by the neck with their fangs. Is that what he is going to do to her?

He want to make her his completely, that thought alone made her heart flutter.

She sat up on the bed wondering where he went to. She was missing him already.

Also Toby, she wonder if that bastard is alright. She had a glimpse of him last night, pointing his sword to the vampires that made to step forward.

She is glad that @$$h0le has changed for good.

Vampires see humans like a normal animal, simce compare to them. They are weak, vunurable and easy to hunt.

Feeling a bit bored, Amelia decided to enter Logan’s private room where his bathtub is. It was huge and water in it was enticing.

She recalled the first time she entered here, Logan had his head under a woman’s Břě@šťs. Jealousy crept into her but she was quick to shake it off.

She pull down her dress to the last one and slowly dip herself into the water.

“Nice” She muttered, settling completely in it.

“May I join?”

Logan voice sounded behind her and she instinctively covered up herself.

“When did you return?” She asked, her cheek burning in embarrassment.

“Just now”

“Where did you go? You left me in the boring room since morning, having the maids bringing me food”

“Sorry, I had to go somewhere” His face turned serious for a moment but it disappeared instantly. He began to pull his cloth and Amelia quickly avert his gaze.

“You’re seriously joining me here?” She asked.

“Yeah, I’d love to”

“Do you have your memories back?” She asked almost in a whisper.

It took a while before Logan replied in a low voice. “No, not yet.. can tell me what you know?”

“No I can’t, it’ll be dangerous. You have to remember yourself.

Amelia sighed but then felt him enter the water. His hand held her.

“What is the matter?” He asked staring deep at her.

“I.. I.. just missed you, that’s all” She admitted.

Logan reached for the hand covering her chest and came close to her until there was no space in between them.

He touched her face and smiled lightly. His lips met with hers briefly and they both felt the warmth they so much miss.

“Last night, you said you love me. Do you mean it?” Logan asked, running his finger on her wet hair.

Amelia was taken aback at first but then smile.

“I mean it. I love you Logan. So much, I can sacrifice myself for you” She whispered and Logan turned stun at her word.

But then, Amelia’s smile faded away at the strange feeling that suddenly washed over her. Her gaze immediately went down to Logan’s chest..

Could it be what she just felt?

His heart just stop beating!

“Logan are you alright?” She immediately look up to his face and saw it paled, his breath shaking as he slowly slump onto her shoulder closing his eyes.

“No! Logan!” She exclaimed.

“f-__-k!!”

“Wake up!!!!”

“Logan!!!”
