_______________
Jolene who heard the shocking confession froze and her eyes widened like the moon.
“B…big B..oss?” She stuttered, her face paled.
“Jolene?” Cassius voice sounded from her speaker. She had forgotten she had called the man already. “Is everything alright?” He inquired.
She couldn’t reply and just ended the call. Her hand trembling. She shook her head.
“That can’t be right” her lips trembled.
___
Meanwhile, the room turn dead silent after à word. One could hear a pin drop.
Mr. King!?
Cassius King?!
The father of her son?!
Tatiana felt the world around her slow down as Zero’s word sank it. Her mind in haywire, her face paled and her heart pounding hard.
Not Cassius of all people! He’s lying! Zero is lying!
“Your look shows you do not believe me–” Zero scoffed. “What did I expect anyway? Of course no one will believe the King that dominates will be a devil in disguise…”
“You’re lying” Tatiana retorted, her voice barely audible. She was tearing up already. This was just too much for her to handle.
Why?!
Why the hell would Cassius ki|| her sister and offered help?!
That doesn’t make sense at all.
“You’re lying” she whispered again, this time more audible.
“I knew you won’t be able to handle the shock. In the eyes of everyone, we see a noble man that rules the Industry but I see a devil…”
“You’re lying” A tear fell out of Tatiana’s eyes. She doesn’t want to believe this.
“How do you think he climbed up to his position in just a few years woman? How long have you known him?” Zero asked.
His questions hit her hard and the bile in her throat made it hard for her to breath. Come to think of it, Cassius knew Issabella before he met her.
Was the story he told her in the hospital a lie?
She barely know him for a month, could it be that she hadn’t seen the real Cassius?
So many questions flooded her my mind and more tears flowed down her face.
Zero released Stacy who was also in shock of what she heard.
“I’ll let you go woman. But next time, I’ll slice your throat and deliver it to the Wallington’s doorstep” he warned and face his men. “Lead them out”
___
“Easy Tatiana. We don’t know for sure. There’s no evidence” Stacy said as Tatiana paced around the area. They had pulled over at the front of Tatiana’s apartment.
Parker was stood with his hands tucked into his pocket, his eyes cold as he stared into space. “This is way complicated. We don’t even know our enemies or friend” he mumbled.
“You should talk to big boss first. Zero might be lying. What if he’s trying to get into your head?” Jolene added.
“What if he is saying the truth. Haven’t you consider that possibility? It doesn’t make sense, I know. Issabella is sweet gentle girl and there’s no sensible offend that would cost her life. Especially not Cassuis being behind it” Tatiana said. Zero had some point. She hadn’t known Cassius for long and his real self.
“So what are you going to do?” Stacy asked.
“I’ll talk to him” Tatiana declared, nervousness swirling in her gaze.
Jolene and the others nodded in agreement. They can’t jump into conclusion. They need to hear from the man himself.
“Talk of the devil” Stacy mumbled.
Tatiana and others looked back and saw Cassius’s car approaching. She gave Jolene a look.
“I had called him before hearing the confession” Jolene explained.
They watch Cassuis step down from the car, clad in a comfortable home wear. It seems he had rushed over.
His eyes darted between them and finally settled on Tatiana. His perfect brow creased slightly.
“Leave us” Tatiana asked the others.
“You sure?” Stacy whispered.
Their distant talk made the man’s brow creased harder.
“Go” Tatiana approached Cassuis, taking a deep breath to control her feeling.
He remain quiet until she got closer to him, her gaze fixed on his.
“Let’s talk” Tatiana demanded lightly and entered her apartment.
Cassius have the others one last glance before entering with her.
“Will she be alright?” Stacy mumbled.
“Yes she will. Big boss would never hurt her” Jolene responded.
Getting in, Tatiana faced Cassuis and took a deep breath. His eyes shows he was waiting for her to speak.
“Did he thr_@ten you? What happened?” He finally speak.
“Who’s Zero to you?” Tatiana asked trying her best to compose her voice.
Cassius stayed silent for a moment before asking. “What did he tell you?”
“Just answer the question please” she plead.
‘Please don’t be the one’ She thought to herself. Her heart racing harder as her anxiety grows.
“He’s an old friend. It’s pretty complicated” He replied and Tatiana frowned at his reply.
“Does he work for you?”
“Is that what he said?” His voice came a bit hard, but soon his face loosen up a little as if realizing something.
“You believed him?” He asked, his gaze slowly getting cold.
“I need to confirm if he doesn’t–”
“You think I ki||ed your sister?” Cassius took a step forward, his aura getting cold.
“He had a point. I’ve known you for barely a month. I don’t really know who you truely are. That’s why I’m asking. I don’t want to believe it–”
“But you did” He quipped in. And when she didn’t reply, he snickered. “Is that how you see me? A man who got to a high position by pushing others down? A man who destroy people just for his own good. A man who ki||ed your sister?”
Tatiana didn’t felt relief but a pang of guilt that struck her to the core. She tried to find a hint of deception in his eyes but all she saw was hurt.
“That’s why I asked. You don’t expect me to keep shut, did you? I wanted to trust you Cassuis, and I needed the truth–”
“Tssk.. you think a man like Zero would spill out his client name?” He asked, his eyes piercing into hers. And when she didn’t reply, her gaze confused on what she felt, he spoke again.
“I thought you were different but I guess you are just like others who thinks I’m a monster. A monster that ki||ed your sister”
“Cassuis–”
“It’s alright to think that way Tatiana” he cut in. ‘Tatiana’ and not ‘Little Rebel’. His voice sounded cold. It doesn’t sound right from his lips. “Everyone thinks that way”
As he turn to leave, Tatiana stood in her place not moving an inch. The hurt in his eyes lingering in her head.
___
Cassius’s car halt before a building after making several calls. The coldness and anger in his eyes enough to make anyone shrink as he cross the gate.
“Hey Mr…” One of the guard approached to stop him. “What’s your deal here?”
Cassius didn’t reply, but instead, hefty men marched in. His men. They were all built with guns and weapons.
Raising his gaze to the Zero’s guard, Cassuis warned coldly. “Move” his word laced with authority that forced the guard to get off his way immediately.
The guard finally recognized the man. Mr. King!
Cassuis stormed into the building.
“Zero! Get f-__-king @zz down here!” Cassuis roared.
As if expecting him, Zero emerged from room and chuckled when their eyes met.
“Old friend” He smirked as he descended down the stairs.
Cassuis watched him quietly, his both hands tucked into his pocket.
“I never thought I could actually force you to come. I’ve missed you, do you miss me?” He asked sarcastically. He stepped closer.
His remaining words went back in as Cassuis fist handed hard in Zero’s face. Fast enough to know he had been dying to hit him.
Zero’s jaw broke, blood spilling out his lips as he spun and fell to the ground.
“You’re running your mouth too much Zade.” Cassius called his real name.
Zero laughed even with the pain coursing through his mouth. He glanced over Cassuis.
“It’s been long have seen your Devil. What a fresh breath”
“You ki||ed Issabella Wallington. Why?”
Zero laughed harder. A laughter that made Cassuis’s jaw clinched with anger. He moved swiftly to grab his collar.
“Spill it out, Zade. You ain’t gonna like my next move” he growled.
“C’mon Cassuis, I know you well. Stop acting to innocent like you never got blood on your hands before…”
In the next moment, a knife was on Zero’s neck drawing out some blood.
“I don’t mind having another” Cassuis glared.
“You know so well you can’t ki|| me. I won’t spill it out even if I die. That’s how I roll”
“It must be someone pretty powerful huh? Or you’re just trying piss me off.”
“Both” Zero chuckled and Cassuis let go of him.
“Well that would pretty fun. Your death won’t be simple Zero. I’ll strip you down bit by bit and when your head is about to explode with frustration I’ll ki|| you” Cassius declared and made to leave.
“I was your friend Cassuis, the one you grew up with. Begged in the street with. We were brothers with the same f-__-king dreams. I helped you to that position of yours Cassius! I did dirty things behind your back to help you fight your way up there. And what happened when you have it? You pushed me one side like I never exist!” Zero roared, his eyes blazing with anger. Cassuis halt.
“I never asked you do dirty things for me. It was your choice” he glanced over his shoulder. “You and I are completely different. That’s why wh@ťěver that is between us was ruin”
Zero clinched his jaw.
Cassuis continued. “You want to see my devil, then I’ll reveal it to you”
With that, he left the building. He had thought of destroying the entire people in and around it but that wasn’t how he deal with things.
He love to watch his enemies suffer before ending them.
Zero laughed hard inside.
“I thought you don’t have a weakness Cassius, but I guess I was wrong. The Wallington’s daughter and the little bastard of yours” he mumbled.
___
Dylan just finished his breakfast. His around eyes was a bit worried.
“Father didn’t come home yesterday, is everything alright?” Dylan asked Butler Conrad.
“Yes young master” Conrad responded politely.
“I don’t really like the title, young master. I’m younger you know. Can I call you uncle?” Dylan asked.
“If the young master wish–”
Dylan blinked, pouting his small lips. Seeing this, Butler Conrad correct.
“Yes Dylan”
Dylan smiled. “Thanks for the meal uncle!”
Butler Conrad loved Dylan a lot. The aura around him is enough to make any sane person.
“You’re welcome Dylan” he smiled.
“About father, is he alright?” He asked worriedly.
“He’s fine, probably just busy. He’ll be back soon” he assured.
___
“He can’t divorce me”
“He can’t do anything to harm me”
“He just can’t”
Paisley kept on rambling those words as she sat on the bed, chewing on her fingers. She was shaking nervously, it’s almost two days.
“I’m the mother of his child. He can’t harm me” Paisley mumbled.
A doctor stepped pushed a medical cart in, a nose mask covering his face.
“Time for your shot ma’am” The doctor announced.
Paisley nodded and pull up her sleeve for it, however, she stopped with a frown.
“It’s not evening yet. Why am I taking a shot this early?” She inquired as she watched the doctor preparing the injection.
“The medical routine change. This is a shot you need to take after three of the burn” he replied lightly.
“Are you new here? I’ve never seen you here before. Why are you covering your face when I’m not smelly?”
“It’s just a professionism act ma’am, sorry if it might have offended you. Let me have your arm” he said and made to inject her but she stopped him.
“Let me see your face” she demanded and the man’s eyes flickered with something dangerous.
Paisley knew she wasn’t safe and she made to scream but he was quick to cover her face with a fabric and forcefully shove the injection to her arm.
Paisley scream rented the ward, bug it was for a second as the fuild injected into her began its effect immediately.
“Done” The man informed over the earphone and left the hospital.
Soon, chaos rented the hospital as Paisley was rushed into the operating room. Her life in danger.
___
After Tatiana visited Dylan, she didn’t set her eyes on Cassuis and was informed he wasn’t around since the time he left.
Her mind had been in sync ever since that day he left. Zero won’t mention who sent him, her work had been stressful, Dylan safety and the scandal around her.
Maybe she shouldn’t have stepped foot into this d@mn country. Her life was perfect in Europe with Catelyn and now…
She doesn’t even know what is going on.
A car suddenly appeared before her and she quickly hit the brake. The force made her hit her head on the steering wheel.
She bled from it since she forgot to putbon her seatbelt.
“f-__-k” she cursed when she saw the blood running down her forehead. Her sight blurry but she noticed a figure getting down from the car in front of her.
Perhaps he wants to apologize but it doesn’t seem like it. She sighted something that made her eyes widened. A gun.
She reached for her phone and quickly call the first person in her mind. Cassuis, with the hope of him picking up.
The door opened and she was dragged out, pulled by the hair.
Tatiana was forcefully pinned on the car, a grip on her neck that knocked the air out of her lung. The pain on her head hardened and eyes blurred even more. She was losing conciousness alright.
Her eyes locked with the dark figure all covered in black. Even with his face covered, Tatiana recognized him.
“Zero”
“Nice, you’re pretty good with recognization. Sorry baby, I won’t be able to keep the promise of letting you go. Cassius is busy dealing with my f-__-king empire, you and that little bastard of yours are the only one, I can use against him” Zero spat.
Bastard?
Tatiana eyes darkened. The pain she felt dissapeared, replaced with anger.
Her knees went straight to his groin, hard enough to make his eyes shift to the middle. A resounding cry left his lips and she used the opportunity to take the gun but failed.
Zero head spun in anger and forcefully pinned her harshly to the car. “Nice try” he growled.
His eyes spot Tatiana’s phone with an ongoing call on the screen, with the name ‘Mr. King’ on it.
“You called him?” He growled, fear glinting in his eyes. Tatiana slowly bought out a pen from her pocket. There’s no way he’ll let him take her.
“Your punishment just doubled woman. Do you think he’ll be that fast to come here to save you?” Zero asked but a cold deep voice sounded behind him, making his heart skipped a beat.
“I’m here already, @$$h0le”
