(TRICKED)

Newton parked the car in his parking lot and rushed inside the mansion. Joanna followed him.

“Listen, I didn’t know that you two were brothers! I swear!” Joanna said, but Newton didn’t respond. He just kept walking.

“Please, just listen to me!” Joanna pleaded, and Newton finally stopped.

“I didn’t know he was your brother. We just happened to bump into each other one day, and we exchanged contacts. That’s all,” Joanna said.

“I’m not mad at you. I’m just angry with him,” Newton said.

“But I thought you were mad at me. You didn’t talk to me during the whole drive. I thought you’d gone back to your old ways,” Joanna said.

“No, four eyes,” Newton said, and Joanna smiled.

“Should I get you some warm water?” she asked, and he nodded. She then walked to the kitchen.

Newton gulped down all the water and Joanna took the empty cup from him.

“Let’s play a game to distract you,” Joanna said.

“What game?” he asked, and she pulled him to sit on one of the couches. She took a game controller.

“You know how to play this?” Newton asked. Joanna nodded.

“My sister isn’t home often, and novels can be tiring, so I play the PS5,” Joanna said.

“Oh,” Newton said, taking another controller.

“I’m sure I’ll win,” Joanna said, and Newton chuckled.

“C’mon.” Newton said. They started playing. Soon enough, you could hear laughter and joy coming from them.

MOORE MANSION**

Leo stormed into his room and started throwing things around. He broke a flower vase, scattering the petals everywhere.

He kept hitting his hand on the wall until blood began to ooze out. He broke everything he could find.

He h@ťěd the fact that Newton kept taking everything from him: first the company, then the woman he’d developed feelings for.

Even though it was love at first sight, he still loved her. Love at first sight wasn’t a crime. But what really got to him was when Newton took his father away.

FLASHBACK TWELVE YEARS AGO**

Everyone was in the dining room – Leo, Aunt Dorothy, Newton, and Piper – but no one could eat. They were all waiting for one person.

They were waiting for their father. Finally, the door opened, and he walked in.

He was holding a gift in his hand and he walked over to the dining table.

He took a teddy bear out of the bag and handed it to Piper, who kept giggling. Then he pulled out a tablet and gave it to Newton, who smiled.

Then, he pulled out a phone and handed it to Leo.

“Dad, I don’t want this! I want the tablet you gave to Newton. It has plenty of games, but this is useless,” Leo shouted.

“You need to calm down,” Harry said, trying to defuse the situation.

“Calm down, you say? Why did you get me this useless thing? I won’t accept this trash until you get me a tablet like Newton’s,” Leo said, turning to face his mother.

“Mom, do you see what Dad did? He prefers this worthless son over me,” Leo said. Dorothy walked over to him.

“Calm down, Leo, or you’ll ruin my plan,” she said. Leo sat down, glaring at Newton with hatred.

FLASHBACK END**

Dorothy, who had heard the shattering of glass, walked into Leo’s room and closed the door behind her.

His eyes were bloodshot red.

“Mom, why won’t you get rid of Newton? He’s always been an obstacle in my way,” Leo said, and Dorothy walked over to him.

“I sent you to London, hoping your hatred for Newton would fade. But you still h@ťě him,” Dorothy said.

“Do you think I’d love him when Dad gave him my company, which was rightfully mine? Do you think I’d love him after I found out that he’s married to Fairytale, the girl who stole my heart at first sight? Do you think I’d love him when he stole my dad away from me? Trust me, I’ll steal everything from him, and he won’t be able to do anything about it,” Leo said.

“You’re going to ruin my plan if you act like this,” Dorothy yelled.

“What plan have you been planning? You promised to give me the company, but your plan hasn’t come to fruition yet,” Leo said.

“Don’t forget that you were the one who stole everything from him, Leo. Don’t forget that,” Dorothy said.

“Wow! Is it because we have the same…” he started to say, but was interrupted by Dorothy.

“Enough. You want the company, right?” Dorothy asked.

“I don’t just want the company, I also want his wife,” Leo said.

“What?” Dorothy’s eyes widened.

“Yes, Mom. I love his wife, so you need to give me both his wife and the company,” Leo said.

ANGEL APARTMENT**

“So this is where you live?” Jimmy asked, and she nodded.

“It’s nice,” he said, and she smiled.

“Thanks for dropping me off,” Angel said.

“It’s nothing. Bye,” Jimmy said, and she waved as she got out of the car.

“Bye,” she said, he watched her walk into her house, then he drove off.

MOORE MANSION**

Piper came out of her room and went downstairs. There, she saw Aunt Dorothy.

“Good morning, Aunt,” Piper greeted, but her aunt gave her an evil glare before responding with a smile.

“Good morning, how was your night?” she asked.

“It was beautiful,” Piper replied with a smile.

“Aunt, guess what day it is?” Piper asked

“What?” Dorothy asked, confused.

“You forgot? I’m taking my test today,” Piper said.

“Oh,” she said, surprised.

“No ‘good luck’?,” Piper asked.

“I’m really preoccupied lately. But, good luck on your test,” she said, and Piper giggled.

“Did you pack my backpack?” she asked.

“Seriously? Should I still be doing that? We have maids, for crying out loud,” Dorothy said.

“But you used to pack it,” Piper said.

“That was before. Not anymore,” her aunt said, and Piper looked at her.

“Miss Piper, here’s your backpack,” the maid said.

Piper smiled and took it from her.

“Thank you,” she said, then turned to her aunt and gave her a peck on the cheek. Then she rushed off.

Once she was gone, Dorothy wiped the spot on her cheek that Piper had kissed.

“I’m tired of pretending. Let’s get to action,” she said, a slight smirk on her face.

NEWTON MANSION**

Joanna came down the stairs with her phone in her hand and sat down on one of the couches.

She looked at the phone and wondered if Newton had eaten breakfast or not. He was such a workaholic.

Just then, a call came in. It was her sister.

She accepted the call and put the phone to her ear.

“Hey, Jo,” Jarvis said, and Joanna almost choked.

“Hi,” she replied.

“I’m calling to let you know that I’m returning soon, and you should be ready to leave so I can take your place,” Jarvis said.

“What?” Joanna asked, confused.

“Why are you surprised? That was the deal. Remember, I said I’d be back in one month’s time, and it’s been two weeks already. Don’t tell me you want to stay with my husband forever. Even if you do, I won’t allow it. Remember, it’s me that Newton loves, not you,” Jarvis said.

“But…” Joanna tried to say.

“No, but I’m coming to take my place. And that place is mine, not yours,” Joanna said, eyes growing wider by the second.

“Ohk.” She said.

“Bye,” Jarvis said, and hung up. Joanna slowly took the phone away from her ear.

Her sister was coming back! Joanna knew she had to stay away from Newton so her feelings wouldn’t grow stronger. If she didn’t, it would be her downfall, and she would only cause herself pain.

Tears started falling down her cheeks.

MOORE GROUP OF COMPANY**

As Newton was in a business meeting with a client, all he could think about was Joanna.

Why hadn’t she called him? Didn’t she miss him?

The projector turned on, and the client faced him.

“Mr. Moore?” they called, and he snapped out of his thoughts.

“What were you saying?” he asked.

“Should we begin the meeting?” his client asked, and he slowly nodded.

“If our businesses merged, it would be easier to launch the collection,” they started….

S•K•J HIGH SCHOOL**

Piper was walking through the halls with her eyes on her phone when she bumped into someone. She nearly fell, but someone’s soft hand wrapped around her waist.

She looked up to see that it was no one other than Senior Kiss. She smiled.

He slowly released her and she smiled at him.

“Senior, I’m about to take the test. You should wish me good luck,” Piper said. Kiss put his hand on her head, ruffling her hair.

“Good luck to you, my headache,” he said, and Piper giggled.

“Thank you,” she said.

Kiss put his hand in his pocket.

“You’ve only got five minutes. You don’t want to miss the test,” Kiss said.

“You’re right. Bye,” she said and ran off. Kiss watched her go until he couldn’t see her anymore.

As Piper was walking through the exam hall, a 9th grade student stopped her.

“Senior, can you help me find my necklace? It’s from my mom and I don’t want to lose it,” the girl said. Piper stared at her.

The thought of her mother always brought a weakness to Piper. She never got to meet her mother while growing up.

“But my test!” Piper said, and the girl gave her a pleading look.

“Please, senior,” she said.

“Okay, I’ll help you find your necklace from your mom,” Piper said, and the girl smiled.

Piper walked to the school storeroom and opened it. Though it was dark, she used the flashlight on her phone to see. She entered, but someone locked the door behind her.

“Thank you,” said the person who sent the girl to Piper. The person gave her some bundles of cash and then the girl ran off to class.

The person smirked and said, “Let’s see who’ll save you now.

Inside the dark room, Piper kept banging on the door, but no one came.

“Help me, please! Help me!” she screamed as she banged on the door. Her body was drenched in sweat.

Then, smoke filled the room, and Piper inhaled it. She lost consciousness and collapsed.
