(GALA PARTY SAGA)
“She gulped down her own emptiness”
“He’s so d@mn hot,” she thought to herself.
Newton caught Joanna staring, and he couldn’t help but smirk. He walked up to her.
“Enjoying the view, four eyes?” he asked, playfully.
Joanna bit her lip, caught red-handed.
“I wasn’t staring,” she said, and he laughed.
“You’re a terrible liar,” he said, and she rolled her eyes.
“Fine, you caught me! Go get dressed, dinner’s ready,” she said, and rushed out of the room before he could say anything else.
“What was that?” She thought to herself. “Why was she staring like her life depended on it?” She asked herself, laughing.
“My husband is perfect,” she thought, as a warm feeling grew in her chest.
A few minutes later, Newton got dressed and walked to the dining table. Joanna served him some food.
“There’s a gala happening tomorrow night. You’re coming with me because you’re my wife,” he said, then took a bite of chicken.
“Oh! I’ve never attended something like that before. I’m feeling nervous,” Joanna admitted.
“You won’t be alone. I’ll be there with you, so don’t get nervous,” Newton said, and Joanna’s anxiety ebbed a little bit.
“So, how’s the food?” she asked.
“Delicious, as always. You’re the best, Jo,” he said, and she smiled.
Newton moved closer to her, removing a strand of hair from her face, then gently undoing her hair tie.
Her heart was racing because he was so close.
“You look pretty when your hair is down, reaching your waist,” he said, making her blush.
She looked at him, and he looked back, smiling. She returned the smile, her heart racing five times faster than usual.

NEXT MORNING**
The sun shone through Joanna’s window, and she lifted her hand to block the light. Her messy hair was all over the bed.
She sat up, pouting her lips. She knew that Newton wouldn’t be home, because he would’ve left for work by now.
She stood up from the bed and walked downstairs, where she found Alison.
“Good morning,” Alison greeted her, and Joanna smiled.
“Morning, Alison,” she said, then walked into the kitchen, where she poured herself a glass of milk.
Milk was her favorite drink. She couldn’t go a day without having a glass of milk.
“Refreshing,” she sighed, taking a sip, then walking back to the living room.
“What should I make for breakfast?” Alison asked.
“Anything’s fine, Alison. I want to eat with you, so make enough for both of us,” Joanna said, and Alison chuckled.
“I’ll be back in a bit. I need to take a bath,” she said, and ran upstairs.
Alison walked into the kitchen, grinning from ear to ear.

A HOTEL**
Leo turned over in bed and reached out, but instead of feeling the empty space next to him, he felt something soft.
He scrunched his face in confusion and pulled the soft body closer.
The figure woke up, and smiled.
“Last night was so amazing, you kept th-ru_sting like a pro. I didn’t know you were so good in bed. But anyways, I want more.”she said.
Leo’s frown deepened.
He stood up, ignoring his nakedness, and walked towards the bathroom. The girl watched him, but he didn’t seem to care.
He turned on the shower and did his business. When he was done, he put on a towel and walked back into the room.
“I need more of you, Leo, f–k me so hard that I wouldn’t be able walk.” The girl said seductively.
Leo wasn’t paying attention to her, though.
He picked up his phone and checked his message, wondering why Joanna hadn’t replied to his message.
He threw the phone across the room, frustrated.
Then, he walked towards the girl, grabbing her waist. She smiled, thinking he was giving in to her advances. He didn’t say a word before th-ru_sting into her, hard.
“Oh, o-h,” she Mõ@ɲed, eyes rolling into the back of her head

ANGEL APARTMENT**
Even though she was upset with her boyfriend, she still cared about him. She paced back and forth, clutching her phone.
She wondered why he hadn’t called her, especially since he’d said such awful things to her yesterday.
Finally, she put her pride aside and called him, but he didn’t pick up.
“What’s wrong with him? Why won’t he pick up?” she wondered aloud.
“Come on, please pick up,” she said as she kept trying to call him, but to no avail.
Just then, the doorbell rang. She looked at the door, curious.
“It must be Mikel,” she thought, rushing to the door and throwing it open.
“Mikel!” she exclaimed, only to find it was a delivery man.
“Are you Miss Angel?” the delivery man asked.
“Yes,” she said, nodding.
“There’s a package for you,” the delivery man said, and she nodded, accepting the package.
“Ok, Thanks,” she said.
“Can I have your signature here?” the delivery man asked, and she scribbled her signature on the form.
The delivery man smiled, then got on his scooter and left.
Angel closed the door and looked at the package. She opened it with glee.
Inside, she found a shimmering red gown with beautiful designs, a pair of high heels, and a matching bag.
Her face lit up with a smile when she saw what was in the package.
She grabbed her phone and called Jimmy, who picked up on the first ring.
“Hey there, beautiful, why are you calling?” He asked.
“I just wanted to say thank you for the dress you got for me.. ”

S•K•J HIGH SCHOOL**
Piper sat on the garden bench, a book in her hand, but she wasn’t really reading it.
She was lost in thought, thinking about the kiss she shared with Kiss the day before. She couldn’t get it out of her mind, and she didn’t sleep at all that night.
She was so deep in thought, that she didn’t notice Nelly and Lovie coming to join her. They were shocked to see her reading.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me, Piper is reading. I never thought I’d see this day.” Lovie said, laughing.
“What’s wrong with that? I’m reading so I can do well on the test,” Piper replied, a little annoyed.
“But why?” Nelly asked. She was still angry about what she’d seen yesterday, and now she was starting to feel jealous.
“I’m trying to do well on the test so Senior Kiss will ask me out on a date. That’s why,” Piper said, smiling dreamily.
“Have you lost your mind? You’re way too young to be thinking about these things. All you can talk about is Senior Kiss this, Senior Kiss that. Just grow up and get over him. He doesn’t even notice you.” Nelly said.
Piper stood up, staring at Nelly.
“Who do you think you are, talking to me like you’re my mom? You’re out of line, you know. And besides, why is it any of your business if I’m in love with him or not?” Piper said, frustrated.
“Because I’m also in-,” Nelly began, but Lovie stood up.
“Can you guys stop? I just remembered something. Piper, the principal sent for you,” Lovie said, interrupting them.
Piper gave Nelly a cold stare, then stormed off, grumbling under her breath.
“What was that about?” Lovie asked Nelly.
“Ugh, can’t you see how irritating it is? All she can talk about is Senior Kiss. It’s driving me nuts,” Nelly said.
“So you wanna tell Piper that you’re in love with Senior Kiss,I’m telling you to stop being obsessed with him? That doesn’t make sense. I’m just trying to help you see that he’s never going to return your feelings,” Lovie said.
With that, she also left.
Nelly kicked an empty can in front of her and ran her hands through her hair.
“No, Lovie, you’re wrong. He’s mine, and nobody else’s, not even Piper’s. I’m not going to let anyone take him from me, even if it means…” She trailed off, her eyes bloodshot with anger.

INSIDE A BALL ROOM**
Billionaires, models, politicians, singers, actors, actresses, and even bloggers had arrived.
The black Ferrari came to a halt, and Newton stepped out. Cameras flashed from every angle as the paparazzi swarmed him.
He walked over to open the door for Joanna, and she stepped out.
She wore the pink Barbie doll dress that she’d gotten from the store a few days earlier. She’d practiced wearing heels until she was an expert.
When she looked up, she saw dozens of cameras pointed in her direction.
🎙Woah, that’s Mr. Moore’s wife!
🎙She’s even more beautiful than I thought!
🎙She’s like a goddess!
🎙Her dress must’ve cost a fortune!
🎙Man, Mr. Moore really hit the jackpot. She’s such a badass beauty!”
Joanna was already feeling nervous. She wasn’t used to being in such a big crowd.
Seeing Joanna’s nervous expression, Newton linked their hands together, giving her a reassuring smile.
“Let’s walk the red carpet together, wifey,” he said, as they slowly walked down the carpet.
The flashing of cameras made Joanna nervous, and she tried to smile.
Finally, they were inside, and Joanna looked around. The hall was crowded.
Jimmy and Angel were there, too, and they were wearing matching outfits.
Flynn was there, as usual, absorbed in his phone.
A waiter came by to serve them glasses of wine.
They clinked their glasses together.
Joanna was the first to sip from her glass. The nervousness had left her throat dry.
Joanna noticed that Angel was staring at her phone, and she walked over to sit beside her.
“Why aren’t you drinking?” she asked, and Angel looked at her.
“I’m just worried about my boyfriend. He hasn’t picked up his phone since yesterday,” she said.
“But I thought Jimmy was your boyfriend,” Joanna said, confused.
“Fake boyfriend. ” Angel corrected her.
“Oh. That’s… unexpected,” Joanna mouthed, surprised.
Just then, soft music started playing, and Newton walked up to Joanna.
“May I have this dance?” he asked, holding out his hand.
“Of course,” Joanna said, and he led her into the dance floor.
The lights dimmed and turned purple, casting Joanna and Newton in its glow.
Though they weren’t the only couple dancing, they were the most captivating.
Newton pulled her closer, his hand resting on her waist. She smiled and her breath caught in her throat as their lips nearly touched.
She placed her legs on his leg and they began to dance, moving in sync.
“Don’t they look good together?” Flynn asked, and Jimmy nodded.
He looked over at Angel, who kept frowning. He walked over to her.
“Come on, let’s dance,” he said, and she stood up and followed him to the dance floor.
Flynn looked to the right, then to the left.
“Guess my friends ditched me for their partners,” he muttered.
“I would’ve introduced you to my dad, but he canceled our meeting today. He had to fly to Spain for a business meeting,” Jimmy said to Angel as they danced.
“No worries. There’ll be another time,” she said, and he smiled.
A few minutes later, the song ended, and Joanna found herself standing alone. Newton had left to go talk to a client.
Angel was busy talking to Jimmy, smiling at him. She sighed, then her eyes met Leo’s, who was smiling at her.
He walked up to her and pulled her into a hug.
You weren’t replying to my messages for a while. I thought we would never meet again,” Leo said, and Joanna broke the hug.
“I didn’t see your messages,” she replied.
“Anyway, that’s besides the point. I want to introduce you to someone,” Joanna said.
“Who is it?” Leo asked. Joanna kept looking around the hall, scanning the crowd for a familiar face.
“Your husband?” Leo asked, frowning.
“How did you know?” Joanna asked, shocked.
“Well, your wedding ring kept shining on your middle finger,” Leo said with a smirk.
Just then, Newton came up behind Joanna. She smiled at the scent of his cologne and turned to face Leo.
“Leo, meet my husband. Newton, meet my…” she started to say, but once again, Leo interrupted her.
“It’s nice to see you again, dear cousin-brother,” Leo said, smiling mischievously.
Newton balled his hand into a fist.
