She made a mistake. She realized as she stood inside of the office, looking at Dee, with De_ra on top of his laps.
“Whoa! I didn’t know you and De_ra are a thing.” She asked, not really sure of what to say.
She was angry. He never told her that he’s seeing De_ra again, after all they went through last year because of her.
To crown it all, she slept with him last night. She had high hopes for him and this is how he pays her back? She was wrong to think about them being more than just friends.
“Diane, it’s not what you think.”
“We’re a thing of course” De_ra snapped and she shot her an angry glare. “Did he tell you about our company merger? Oops, that’s going to be a hot gist soon but…”
Company merger? Dee never mentioned that to her. She turned her gaze to him while he avoided her eyes, meaning that, what De_ra is saying is the truth.
“…don’t tell me that he didn’t tell you,” she gasped and cupped her lips, “Dee, you didn’t tell her?”
“De_ra stop! What’s wrong with you? Why are you doing this to me?”
“I’m sorry I came over last night and…”She said but he interrupted her;
“No, you can’t be sorry. This is De_ra and you know how she’s like.”
“Yeah, and that’s why you ignored me all morning isn’t it?” She snapped, really pissed off. Yeah, she knows, he doesn’t love her but aren’t they best friends? Why didn’t he tell her anything?
And why De_ra of all people? Company merger? Ridiculous!!
“Diane…”
“I was just curious. That’s why I followed you. I’m sorry for doing that.” She almost broke down in tears.
” But, you should’ve explained things to me clearer yesternight so I won’t…I won’t make a fool out of myself”she mumbled out.
“Thank God you know, that you’re always making a fool out of yourself” Diane replied, glaring daggers at her.
She clenched her fist. It’s not her fault. It’s Dee’s who…such a jerk!
“Uhm, I thought Jeff was bad but…you’re the worst!!”
“Diane”
“Oh, I know. You pity me and want the best for me too. I understand, so, I’m sorry for what happened between us last night.”
“Last night?” De_ra asked while Dee finally pushed her off coming close to Diane.
“Diane, I’m not sorry”
Feeling more irritated, “But I am! It’s irritating for finally f-__-king my own best friend!”
“Don’t say it like that”
“So how should I say it? That we were both horny and we went for it?”
“Diane, I know you’re angry but…”
“I’m not angry. I’m just a little bit confused. You’ve been keeping me in the dark”
“If it’s about De_ra…”
“Just stop. And don’t you dare tell Jeff that I fuvked you”
“Fuvk? We didn’t…”
“I don’t want Jeff to hear about it”
“Wait..what…why? You told me that you’re done with Jeff for good”
“Couple fight actually”
He held her arm, “why are you doing this? I’m sorry if…”
“Why are you sorry? You shouldn’t be. Not like we love each other.” She turned to go while he pulled her back.
“Please don’t do this”
She breathed hard. She wanted to scream as much as she wanted but she restrained herself from doing that.
“I will see you later Dee. Maybe you can tell me about anything later”
“You’re meeting Jeff right?”
“I need to make up with him. He’s still my boyfriend, no matter what”
“You can’t do that!” He pulled at her, “he keeps hurting you!”
She peered into his eyes, she almost hit his face, “And don’t you think you’re hurting me too?”
His mouth fell open, “Diane I…”
“Oops! I guess you’re worried that I’m gonna follow you around like you’re my savior. Like I will keep running back to you like a lost puppy?”
De_ra cackled while the two turned to look at her, she shrugged.
“Look Diane. Dinner at my place. How does it sound?”
“Annoying”
“C’mon Diane”
“It sounds annoying”
De_ra applauded, “You’re so smart Diane. As if you knew that I had a date with him tonight”
A date? The two of them? How much she doesn’t know.
“I need to go” she mumbled but he held her by the shoulder.
“Don’t mind her. I am not going on a date with…”
She wriggled out of his hold,”I will see you tomorrow. Enjoy your date” she walked out.
$h|t! Fuvk! What has he done? What just happened? Gosh! He felt his chest tightening. He felt a hard lump forming around his chest.
“Get out of my office now!” He yelled.
“No”
“Guess you didn’t check your email. I have an appointment…”
He grabbed her arm and dragged her out of his office. He slammed the door behind him and rested on the door.
What has he done? What…it was working out fine until De_ra ruined it. He reached for his phone and dialed Diane’s number.
“Diane…”
“Why are you calling me?”
“Listen…”
“I don’t want to, I am with Jeff now.”
“Jeff? Did you even think this through?”
“I still love him. At least I feel at ease when I’m with him”
He can’t believe he screwed up again. What’s he gonna say now?
“Diane, I’m sorry”
“It’s fine. Don’t beat yourself up about what happened.”
“I’m not talking about last night”
“If we’re not talking about it then, there’s nothing left to say.”
“I don’t regret last night.”
“I know.”
He felt elated, “You know?”
“Yes, you never regret it because you want me to feel better”
His relaxed expression disappeared from his face, “That’s not true”
“Talk to you later”
“Wait…”
“What is it again Dee”
“There’s something I want to tell you”
“And what is it?”
“That I love you”
“Dee…”
“I really…”
“You sure knows how to make me feel less sympathetic…”
She hung up on him.
