She blink her lashes, “K…I found out that my brother is having a thing with your sister. They’re in a romantic relationship, I tried talking to him and he doesn’t wanna listen to me, I tried to make him understand the consequences of…..” She paused.
“This relationship, but he doesn’t wanna listen to me.” She said. “Wow, so all these things have been happening, and I didn’t know. Simi.” He mumbled and get down the bed.
“Where’s Derrick?” He asked.
“I locked him up.” She replied. “Why?” He asked.
“He wasn’t ready to listen to me.” She replied, looking away from him. “Babe, he is still your brother, I will talk to him and make him understand. I will get him out, tomorrow morning.”
“But…No buts” He shut her up, placing his finger on her lips. “I will handle it.” He whispers and kissed her cheek. “Let’s get some sleep.” He whispers.
NEXT MORNING
Very early in the morning, Kunle left the house for the police station. He was able to bail him out, He talked to him, telling him the consequences of their relationship, but Derrick was still standing on his words.
“I love her. The same way you love my sister, why’s mine different. You can’t anyone understand what am going through.”
“Derrick, I understand what you’re going through and I want you to understand, that something bad might happen to you or her. What if in your relationship, Simi dies, God forbid, but am just askin. Or you? How will you feel? How will she feel?” He asked.
“I want you to understand, love is a beautiful thing. But this one, I can’t handle it. We will talk about this later, please understand.” He said.
“Fine.” Derrick said. “Let’s go home, I’ll take you home. I know your mom must be worried.”
“Okay, how’s my sister doing?”
“She’s fine.” Kunle said. “Please tell her, that I’m sorry for yelling at her.” Derrick said.
“I will. Let’s go home.” He said, they got to the car and drove out of the station. Kunle took him home, his mother in law was happy to see him, she thanked him. “I will have to go back, because Amber was sleeping when I left.” He said.
“Alright, my dear please take care of yourself and her.” Helen said, smiling. “I will, mom. Derrick!”
“Yes..” He replied. “Take care of yourself.” He said and left, he used same opportunity to go see his mom, she was happy to see him. They talked about some things and he asked about Simi, he was told that she has left for lecture. He didn’t want to hide anything from his mom, so he told her everything. She was shocked and disappointed.
“Why would Simi do something like this? Ehn?” She asked, disappointed. “Mom, don’t worry. I will take care of it, I will talk to Simi and I believe she will listen to me.” He said.
“Kunle, please do. I don’t want something that will bring disgrace to us, kids of these days don’t understand anything.” She said, worriedly.
“Mom, I will. Okay.” He said, softly. “What about Amber?” She asked. “She’s fine, I will get back to you.” He said and left the house.
