Francis is now constantly coming around Rose but Rose is not giving him much attention because she is scared of what Gift will say and what other people will say too.
Francis quit understand what Rose is scared of, he knows that Rose likes him but scared of admitting it.
One day Gifts mother came to Rose house and told Rose she wants to speak with her, Rose was a kinda scared thinking if Gifts mother wants to caution her about Francis.
Rose obeyed and sat down, then Rose mother went to bring kola for her visitor.
Gift’s mother held Rose hand and started admonishing her…..
My daughter, I know that Gift my daughter is your very close friend and both of you are like twins. You are also my daughter and I won’t see a wrong thing and do to you because you are also my daughter that I love so much
To cut the long story short dear, in regards to Francis and you, if Francis comes to you for marriage, if you love him don’t shy away because of your friend Gift and miss your opportunity, don’t mind Gift and her attitude, I have tried as a mother to teach her the right way but she has refused and choosed her own path
So Rose please don’t look at her at all in terms of Francis, that’s all I have come to tell you
Rose thanked her and told her that she have heard all that she said.. Rose mother also thanked her for her advice and encouragement towards her daughter and escorts her home
Francis was building a magnificent house in his village but made it a secret so that people will not know that he is the one building it, but except his mother and few people in the village.
People are really commending and praising the person that is building the house due to how fast it is on going…it has reached roofing point in a space of four months
Francis was with Rose one day and he gathered courage and pronounced his love for Rose, he told her that he loves her and would want to marry her that she should please not turn him down
But Rose politely told him that she likes him too but she is not ready for marriage yet, she told him that she wants to concentrate on her education before thinking of marriage but if it is the will of God, they will be together in due time but if not then your own wife will come.
Francis was speechless for some time before he speaks again.
Rose are you sure you are not rejecting me because of my poverty and what your friend told you…or are you afraid of Gift?
Rose smiled at him and held his hands, Francis please I know that you might be poor today but I know that tomorrow will be better, but I just told you my points now, but if you don’t want to believe me so be it.
Okay, I believe you Francis told her, but I will be traveling back very soon so I will like us to be communicating with you, so can you give me ur contact? Rose agreed and they exchanged contacts.
Francis and Rose now talks frequently through air because Rose told him to reduce his visit to her village, he agreed but he never stops calling her.
Some times they will speak up to 20-30 minutes even an hour a times…. Rose always wonders how Francis gets the money he used to call her so lengthy but never mentioned it to him.
Francis house was soon completed in the fifth month but he handed it over to one elderly man and his family, his mother’s papers were ready and he planned to travel to Lagos on Saturday, then from there to London so he decided to pay Rose one last visit before he travels to the state.
Then he called Rose and told her that he is coming over, Rose was with Gift at that time so She told her and Gift was very surprised at her
Hmmm! so you still see that futureless tøut son of a nobody, you are trying ooo! good luck to you but believe me I will never attend your wedding I promise. Rose said nothing but just smiled at her friend.
Common Gift, why is your blood so hot about this guy, why do you h@ťě him with so much passion? Come to think of it, he never deed you any wrong and he is not God that made him to be poor at the moment.
Remember tomorrow is pregnant and nobody knows what is bringing forth so stop downgrading and down casting people because you are not there God ooo!
Please, Rose leave that one jare, my annoyance with that guy is that he is too handsome and fresh to be that poor and wretched now, maybe he is a playboy self or he has sugar mommies who is taking care of his needs in Lagos while back at home he has nothing to show forth even his poor mother self should be enjoying his wealth by now, but nothing to show forth
He is just a fine boy without cash…. Abeg me no wan suffer for life oo lie lie! so I no go chop Fine boy nah money I go chop ooo!
Rose just shook her head and laughed.
Gift you won’t seize to amuse me, you know that you are my only friend and I won’t advice you wrongly so you better slow down on material things and bring your self and eyes down so that you won’t make mistakes in life ooo.. I don tell you my own ooo as your bestie.
Rose let me hear I am not a kid anymore and I have my choice to make and my life to live, ehe! that reminds me, I heard a rumor that a magnificent building was erected in that pauper Francis village
Rose my friend, I wish I knows the guy that mounted that elegant building there I would have try to make him catch my eyes if he is still single (she smiles dreamily)
Gifty take things easy ooo good things no dey finish ooo maka ndu gi ooo(because of your life oo)
Then they sighted Francis coming, Gift frowns her face while Rose beams with Smile….. So Francis got to the spot… Gift gave a very audible hiss and walked away angrily without even greeting Francis or saying goodbye to her friend
