Gift left without informing Rose, Rose felt bad about that and decided to go after her friend, she walked very fast until she gets closer to gift, she called her but Gift still refused to answer or talk to her, then Rose ran to her front and double crossed her
Why are you not talking to me, did I do something wrong to you,then tell me I am willing to apologize, but gift looked at her and said
I am angry at you because as my friend, you was supposed to force me to put on that socks but instead you just put it back into your bag when I said no,and for that reason I was punished twice and you once, she hissed mtcheww!
Rose laughed and clapped her two hands together, I know that must be why you refused talking to me but I only say let me confirm incase if there is any other thing that I did wrong to you but thank God there is none
Besides I offered to give you my socks and you refused, am I supposed to wear it on your leg forcefully?
I am even the one that’s supposed to be angry because you are the one that made me run late and was punished for that but I am not and you are here angry at me for your own fault, at least I have cleared my conscience jare, I didn’t do anything wrong to you so bye bye.
Rose walked away leaving Gift standing there speechless.
Later in the evening, Rose took her pot of water and decided to go to the stream, she decided to go and call her friend gift, when she got to her house, she was surprised that Gift has already gone to stream according to what her mother told her, she felt really bad and left to stream
She met Gift on the way, she is already coming back from the stream, she tried to ignore her but her heart can’t let her.
Gift, so you came to the stream without informing me, I went to your house and your mum told me that you have left already.
Gift only hissed and walked past her, then said, when you left me and went home what do you think eh?.
Rose: are you not the one that left me in school before I met you on the way.
Gift: biko hapum aka ooo, gawakwara onwe gi oooo (please leave me alone and stay on your own ooo).
Rose: Anyi ana esesi okwu ? (are we now quarreling?).
Gift: eehh gawara onwegi (yes stay on your own).
She carried her water and left, smiling at her self because she knows that Rose will come back again so that they will make peace, she has always apologize to her even when she is at fault, Rose don’t like keeping malice, she Smiled and turned back to know if Rose is still standing there but she has left already.
Rose was angry at Gift’s attitude, is it because I don’t like keeping malice with her, I will always apologize so that peace will reign among us that’s why she is always behaving like this, I won’t ever apologize to her this time, I won’t
She fetched her water and left, on her way she met gift coming to stream she just pretended that she didn’t see her and passed her.
Gift was surprised at Rose’s action and turned back and was looking at her until she was out of sight, she murmured to her self, anu la taa, echi wu nta (if animal excape today, tomorrow is another hunting day)
This simply means that since Rose was able to ignore her today, it won’t last for long and she will come back seeking her face and friendship again, Gift said as she moved further towards the stream.
