Two days later they went back to school, luckily they still stayed in the same room and the same class but in ss2 they changed classes Rose choose science class because she wants to be a doctor while Gift choose art class because she wants to study mass communication.
They barely see each other during school hours unless they both came back to their rooms.
Gift behaviors was not as before any more, she now talks anyhow and sometimes she Sneaks out in the night with some friends, they will jump the school fence or sometimes bribes the gate man, and in the early hours of the morning she will sneak back into the hostels.
Rose kept warning Gift about her bad and wayward life that she have chosen to live but Gift always ends up snubbing her or calling her names like mgbe eke, juu girl, etc.
Sometimes she will tell her that the only thing she can do is when they get back to the village you will tell my mama about it. Rose continues to warn and plead with her all fall in deaf ears
Gift has thrown away her virginity, she has two boyfriends outside which she normally sneaks to at night and in return they will shower her with money and gifts.
She had tried in many ways to lure Rose into following her but Rose always refused and warns her never to tell her such things again.
Rose stopped collecting things from her friend, even if she is dying of hunger she will still refused to collect things from her., Gift was not happy because Refused to join her and she envies her a lot because she is still a Virgin while herself is no longer a Virgin
She tried all her possible best to lure Rose to break her virginity too so that they will be the same but Rose didn’t yield to Gifts pressure and this triples her envy and hatred towards Rose
She started keeping malice with her and will always mock and ridicule Rose when ever she passes but Rose never gave up on her friend, some times she will write words of advice in a $h|t of paper and secretly put it into Gifts bag
Gift always reads it and will shun Rose not to put rubbish in her bag, but her treats and warnings never made Rose to stop reaching out for her friend.
One day as usual Gift sneaked out through the fence with some of her friends not knowing that the principal saw them, immediately she woke all the teachers and they started searching room to room to know those that are not in their rooms, at that time
Rose was awake reading and she immediately noticed what is going on, she quickly rushed to Rose bed and sets pillows like human being then covered it with the blanket, then two teachers came in to survey their rooms, they counted them and also count the pillow that Rose arranged as a student that was sleeping, Rose thanked God that they didn’t find out about her friend.
Early the next morning the students sneaked in not knowing what really happened, although they heard it through rumors some thought it was just students prank and did not take it very serious.
In the assembly ground that morning, the principal after giving some advice to the students, then he started calling out the names of those who were not found in their rooms last night, Gift heart was beating so fast and she nearly urinate on her body when they called a name that is similar to hers, Gift okoro,
Gift let out a long breath she was holding due to fear and did sign of the cross five times when the principal finished calling the names in her list.
Those that were caught were expelled from the school according to the rules and regulations of the school so as to serve as a warning and lessons to the other students. They were asked to pack their bags and leave the school before 30mints.
Gift was short of words after hearing from their rommies what Rose did for her, she was really ashamed of herself for all the insults and ruthless words she said to Rose
Out of shame and gratitude she thanked Rose for serving her, Rose hugged her and told her that she is the only sister she have here in the school and will never let her fall into trouble.
They embraced each other and Gift promised to turn a new leave.
