Theodora could feel the guilt burning in her. If not the knock hadn’t distracted, she was going to tell him everything about the beast.
She wiped her both cheeks with her palms, sniffing hard.
When she recalled his statement to her, « I will ki|| everyone who serves my brother, and you are no exemption.» the tears rolled out the more.
” No, I can’t. I can’t anymore.” She wept bitterly, her hand on her chest. ” But, you made me this way.”

Holland ran to the chief maid, who was talking with another maid. ” As from today, you will be Theodora’s new maid. Understood?”
” Ma’am.” She interrupted.
” Holland, not now.” She ignored her.
” Please, before she leaves I wish to say something to you.” She pleaded.
She rolls her eyes. ” Fine, I’m listening.”
” Can I… can I be Theodora’s new maid instead? I mean, I would heart fully accept to do that.”
The woman stared at her, then at the other maid, then back to her. ” And why should I do that?”
” Because…” She took seconds to think of what to say.
” You want to be close to the royal line, isn’t it?”
” No, it’s not why I wanted the duty.” She looks at the other maid. ” Prisca prefers the laundry duty.”
The woman gave Prisca a questioning look. Prisca slowly nodded her head.
” Fine. You two can switch.” With that, she left them.
” Thank you.” She thanked.
” It’s nothing.” She left too.

Holland exhaled heavily. She knew this would be her only opportunity to get more closer to Theodora and explain things to her.
But when she walked into her room, Theodora’s countenance was obviously clear that she wasn’t in the mood to listen to anything she’s got to say.
” If you’re here to lecture me on what’s right and wrong then please, do me the favour of leaving. ” Theodora sternly said.
” Your decision has nothing to do with me. I am only here because the chief maid sent me. ” She lied.
” Better. ”
Holland requested for the change of duty because she found it was a good means to talk to her and get her understand that she was taking the wrong decision.
But seeing as her attitude is, she changed her mind.” I am not good at the royal styles, so I’m pretty sure you know what to do. ”
Holland nod her head. ” Sure, I do. But first, you need a shower.”
Theodora silently watched as she walked into the bathroom. She could hear the sound of water.
The new room Kaleb had given to her wasn’t as the previous one which had a bathtub in it’s bathroom.
This was totally different. It had a pool in it, which normally contains cold water.
But Holland turned on the hot tap while the water runs into the cold water to make it warmer.
She hung the towel on the hanger, then she drops red roses into the water before leaving the room.
” Your shower is ready.” She informed.
Theodora came back from her thoughts. She stood up, walking into the bathroom. She shuts the door behind her.
While she had her shower, Holland searched for a new cloth. She was still worried why Theodora would be such gentle to let Kaleb into her life.
Why would she believe in his riches and fake promises?
If only she can let her explain, Theodora needs to be talked to.
This isn’t love he plans to give to her, this was the only way he could make her life miserable.
This wasn’t the first time he made such promise to a woman. He has always promised women who were weak to his beauty.
But somehow, his promises to Theodora seemed different from the other women.
She sat on the water, her hands playing with the red roses. She loved everything about the room.
She smiled.
Soon, she would become a queen. But unfortunately, her parents, Camila, Mrs Greene and Miss Meyers won’t be able to witness it.
She sighed heavily.
She should be happy. She knows she should but… she isn’t. Getting married to her enemy, to the very one she wants dead?
Would it be necessary to get married to him when his death is right before him?
What will be her fate after his death?
A queen without a King? How is she to rule a thousand people when she knows nothing about royalty or politics?
But… Is it also necessary to be concerned about that? After all, he has promised to ki|| her alongside his brother.
Which means, there will be no King and definitely no queen at all.
She was done bathing, she walked out of the shower with a towel tied around her chest.
Holland was testing each dress she brought out on the dummy stand.
” I want the red one.” Theodora said from the bathroom door.
Holland turned to look at her. ” Okay.”
She took the dress off the dummy stand, taking it to her. Theodora unfolded the ends of the towel, letting it drop to the ground.
Holland assisted her with the dress, and her hair too. ” Least I forget, his highness wishes to have dinner with you tonight. ”
Theodora stared at her from the mirror. ” Thanks for letting me know. ”
She nodded.
Holland left the room for her. Theodora watched her until she was out of the room.
She knows Holland did cared but… right now, at this few period she’s got, she has no choice.
He made her this way. He changed her. She always cared but… Not anymore. She loved life, but he made death safer for her.
Who’s fault? Probably not hers…
