Now she doesn’t know who to believe, who to give her hope to. But d@mn no, Kaleb doesn’t worth it. He deserves to die more than anyone else.

She laid on her bed, letting sleep take over her.

She woke up, but still laid on her bed. What happened last night kept on ringing in her head.

While she left to the kitchen to get the prince’s meal, some maids marvelled to see her still alive because they had thought alpha Kaleb has ordered her dead.

She acted not to have noticed them, taking the tray of food with them to the prince’s room.

” Sir, your breakfast is ready.” She informed as she drops it in the table.

He did not reply.

” Sire?” She called again, turning to look at him, he was asleep.

She didn’t want to bother him, she quietly arranged his room not wanting to wake him up. After she had dressed up his room, she left.

” Van Amstel!” A voice called, and she stopped to answer.

She turns to see the girl who had sided her the other day from the accusation.

“Hey,” she said, surprised to see her.

” Hi.” She was breathing heavily from the run. ” I have been searching every where for you. I thought prince Kaleb locked you in the dungeon until I heard the other maids saying they had seen you earlier. Guess you stay in a different room now. ”

She smiled.

” Don’t worry, I’m not a gossip. ”

” Yeah. He said he didn’t want any more complain about me. ”

” No offense I’m asking you this but… does he, you know, have interest in you? ” She asked, to be sure.

Theodora shrugged her shoulders.

” Oh. ” She nods. ” I get it now.”

” Get what?” She asked, confused.

” Why they desperately want to have you dead because they envy you. You know, you just came two days ago and boom, his highness picks you as his maid. It’s surprising you know. ”

” Not like I really wanted it at the first place. ”

” Come on, who would love to serve him apart from those useless girls. ”

” You don’t like him too? ”

” Don’t say that loud but yes, I don’t. ” She sighed. ” Well, I just came to check on you. I’m happy you’re alive. ”

Theodora smiled. ” Thank you. ”

” It’s nothing actually. See you around then. ”

” Yeah. I mean, hold on. ”

” Yep? ”

” I don’t even know your name yet. ”

The girl smiled. ” Holland. Holland Skelton. ”

They exchange smile.

” See you around. ” She waved

” See you around too. “They went to their separate ways.

” Theodora. ” Called the beast.

” What now? ” She snapped.

” I want you awake tonight, I’ve got something to show you. ”

She rolled her eyes. ” The flower again? Geez, I don’t think I’m interested in that anymore. ”

” I wasn’t thinking of showing you the flower. ”

She stopped walking. ” If you’ve got something to tell me, then at least you should give me a hint. ”

” I prefer to keep my stuffs a surprise. ”

” That still doesn’t change the fact that you’re gonna have me dead one day. ”

He growled.

” That doesn’t scare me. Look, I’m only listening to you because you’re in my head. I wouldn’t have been waisting a second of my time for all this piece of shits. ”

” I’m happy you know that already. Tonight, I’ll be visiting. ”

” Do I have time to expect you? Maybe before then, I would probably get some rest. ”

” I don’t know time, I come whenever I want. ”

” Yeah, guess I totally forgot that. ”

” Mmm. ” He left.

” I just wish there’s got to be a way to get this thing off my head. I can’t believe you’re becoming a lot more annoying than your brother. ” She scoffs.

” I just wish I were dead already. All these are becoming more scary to me. ” She continued her way.

The night approached faster than she expected. Theodora woke up from her twenty minutes sleep, her eyes glaring around the room, stuffs after stuffs, patiently waiting for his voice.

Even at that, nature couldn’t give her the break she needed. Her eyes blinked ten times every seconds.

She stood up from the bed, walking towards the window. She pulled it open, staring out. The wind was calm and cold, definitely not helping matters at all.

” Come on, already.” She grunted, impatiently.

” I am here. ” The voice sounded much like it was just right behind her. She turns, ” Where? ”

” I’m in your head. I don’t have much time with you, I need you to focus on my words. ”

” You’re not mind controlling me again, are you? ”

” Do you ever have to quit asking questions? ” A hint of anger sounding in his voice.

” Do you possibly think I’d let you have control of my head without my permission? I think I should know why you want me? ”

” Like I said earlier, I have something to show you. ” He replied. ” No more questions until we get there.”

She wanted to ask another, probably the last one. But since he wasn’t entertaining any further questions, she decided to be quiet.

But inside her head, the questions kept repeating itself. « What if someone walks in and doesn’t find me, how can I explain myself? »

” You are not alone.” Was the last thing she heard, and everything…. went black.
