βNah. I can handle it by myself.β She replied.
________
βAre you sure you don’t need us to come with you?β Delphine asked.
Lilith shook her head as a no.
βYou girls don’t have to. This is my problem and I want to face it alone.β She said.
βThat’s offensive, Lilith.β Lou frowned. βWe are your best friends and it is normal that we share your problems with you. If any of us was in this situation that you are in, you would have done the same.β
βI know you all care about me and regardless of how I treat you girls sometimes…β Her voice trailed off. It was so out of her character to say what she was about to say. However, it felt like the right thing to do at that point so she didn’t hold it back like she usually does. βBut always know that I care about you all as well. Which is why I ask you to take a step back and let me deal with this situation myself.β
Lou, Delphine, and Calliope exchanged looks of surprise. Neither of them expected Lilith to get so emotional and kind with her words. It was so unreal and… amazing.
βIf you ever need our help. Don’t hesitate to call out to us. Because trust me, we shall run as fast as possible to you.β The three girls at the same time.
Lilith smiled and nodded her head.
βI think this is the time we hug.β Lou reasoned, wiggling her brows.
βLou is right.β Delphine agreed.
The four friends found themselves in each other’s arms and in a group hug, laughing.
βWait, why does this feel like a goodbye?β Calliope asked out of the blue, pulling away from the group hug. βOr am I the only one who feels that way?β
βIndeed, you are the only one who feels that way.β Lou stated, earning giggles from Lilith and Delphine.
βOh…β Calliope exclaimed softly and slightly shrugged her shoulders.
A comfortable silence fell between all of them until Lilith spoke up, transforming into her demon form.
βWhat are you doing?β Delphine asked.
βWhat kind of a question is that? I am leaving.β She answered.
βLeaving to where?β It was Lou’s turn to ask.
βArgh.β Lilith groaned, getting fed up with their countless questions. βWhat were we discussing before it got all emotional between us?β
βWe talked about you going to meet the old witch. But we never said you should go there right now.β Delphine responded.
βWhy do I need you girls’ agreement?β She shot at them.
The atmosphere immediately switched up from an emotional aura of best friends telling each other how important their friendship is, to something completely opposite.
βOkay, can we all calm down?β Calliope cut in, staring between Lilith and Delphine. βNow is not the right time for us to fight each other.β
βWe are not fighting!β Lilith and Delphine said in unison.
βThen what is going on here?β Lou questioned.
βListen, I am not ready for this much talk. I need to leave right now.β Lilith scoffed, spreading open her bat-like wings.
βYou can’t leave right now, Lilith. What do you think the king will say or do to you if he finds out that you ditched school again?β Delphine queried.
βMy father has no right to question me for the choices I make. If he had simply told me the truth from the get-go, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now.β With that said, she flew away from the rooftop, away from school, and away from her worried-looking friends.
Delphine, Lou, and Calliope kept watching the figure of their friend until she zoomed out of their sight.
βWould she regret this choice?β Lou asked no one in particular.
βI hope not,β Delphine muttered with a sigh.
βI don’t know why I have a weird feeling about this departure. Why does it feel like this will be our last moment with Lilith?β Calliope thought to herself, biting her lower lip.
βLet’s go to class.β Delphine said, already heading for the rooftop exit.

βShe is skeptical of us,β Dahlia pointed out the obvious. βShe knows for a fact that we are keeping a secret from her.β
Graham simply nodded his head in agreement, cupping his forehead and leaning his elbow on his knee.
βWhat are we going to do about it?β She asked, watching her husband closely. βBecause we can’t just sit back and watch her look around for answers that will lead to her doom.β
βYou think I don’t know that already?β He seethed, groaning at the back of his throat while coming up to his feet. βI am worried that things will south for us.β
βI don’t want to lose my only daughter, Graham. I am scared of fate taking its course. I don’t think I can live without Lilith by my side.β She remarked, almost at the brink of spilling tears from her eyes.
βNeither can I.β
βOh, please!β She snapped. βYou can’t compare yourself to me, you know?β
Graham raised a questioning brow at her.
βWhat do you mean by that?β
βIs that even a question?β She slowly got up to her feet, standing directly in front of the king aka her husband. βYou have two other wives who have birthed enough children for you. But as for me, Lilith is my only child. My only blood!β Black tears started rolling down her face. βYou better do something to protect my daughter because if anything happens to her, I will wreck this world.β She intentionally brushed off his shoulders and stormed out of the chamber.
Graham was lost for words to say. He just blankly stared at the closed door.
βBut Lilith is my favorite child and I care about her more than anyone else. Why would Dahlia say those words like I don’t care about our daughter?β He asked himself in a whisper, a deep frown plastered on his face.

Carmen entered her room, looking so pissed off.
At that moment, someone barged into her space without having the decency to knock.
She whipped her head around and found her twin brother standing by the door with his hands shoved inside the pocket of his pajama pants.
She shot a hard glare at him, balling her fist. She knows exactly what brought him here and that made her blood boil uncontrollably.
βCan’t you knock!?β She screeched.
βWell, I can. But I didn’t want to.β He answered nonchalantly. βAnyway, we need to talk.β
βHell no. I have absolutely nothing to discuss with you, Camden. Get out of my room. I need to sleep.β
βWhether you like it or not, Carmen, we are going to have this conversation.β He told her, stubbornly.
βListen, if you are here to question my behavior of earlier ago in Esme’s room. Don’t even think about it. Because I don’t want to have that chat with you.β She spoke.
βDon’t you feel bad?β Camden asked quietly, furrowing his brows.
βFeel bad?β She scoffed. βAbout what exactly? Let me guess, about telling Esme the piece of my mind? No, I don’t feel bad about it. Are we done? Now, kindly leave my room.β
βSometimes I wonder what kind of a human being you are. Do you even care about your family at all? What matters to you in this world, Carmen? Huh? I am really curious to know.β
She pointed her index finger at him, βDon’t f-__-king do that with me. Don’t make me seem like the bad guy here because I am not.β She paused. βAren’t you tired? Why must she always act like this? Why? You know what? Just leave my room. I have nothing more to say to you. Get out.β She rushed to her bed, pulled the duvet over her body, and closed her eyes, not minding Camden’s presence.
A few seconds later, she heard the sound of the door opening and closing.
Carmen opened her eyes and let out a deep breath, tears rolling down her face.
βI was so scared. I thought something bad had happened to her. Why would she scream like that for no reason?β She muttered under her breath, crying silently under the duvet.

Esmeralda was already prepared for school as she descended the stairs, petting Chucky who was snuggled in her arms.
She saw Carmen in the living room, seated on the white and gold couch as she climbed down from the last step.
Carmen was busy with her phone and didn’t acknowledge her sister’s presence until she heard a soft bark.
She unhurriedly raised her head up and her gaze met that of Esme.
βGood morning, big sis.β Esmeralda greeted, trying to sound as cheerful as possible but the look Carmen gave her made it impossible for her to keep the cheerful act on.
βWhat is good about the morning, huh?β Carmen rolled her eyes, standing up to her feet while holding her glittering gold handbag. βI’m off to school.β
βWait, aren’t you going to have breakfast before leaving?β Esme asked, worriedly.
βSeeing your face made me lose my appetite. Tell mom I already left because I’m not hungry.β She said rudely and walked out of the mansion.
Esme thought of crying but it was pointless doing so, so she decided to go to the dining room and eat her sadness away.
It is normal for her sister to h@Ε₯Δ her. Like seriously, who would like to have a sister like her? Definitely no one. She doesn’t blame Carmen for feeling disgusted whenever she is around because truth be told, she sometimes feels disgusted with herself.
Her life was a complete mess.
How she wishes things could take a sudden and unexpected turn.

Beverly winced in pain, squeezing her head in between her palms.
βAre you okay?β Mrs. Chester asked, watching her daughter closely and carefully.
βMy head f-__-king hurts. I can feel it splitting up.β She cried out, massaging her temple.
βCan you take a good look at yourself? What were you thinking drinking yourself to oblivion? Come to think of it, aren’t you too young to go to clubs and drink alcohol?β
βMom,β She glanced up at her mother. βPeople say I look older than my age. I guess they are right.β She smirked and immediately regretted that action because of the pain that shot up in her head. βOh, f-__-k.β
βAnd you are fine with people saying that to you?β Mrs. Chester asked in surprise.
βWhat? Of course not. I made sure I dealt with them. Next time they will be mindful of their words.β She sat down on the tiled floor and leaned her head against the cool couch. βThe hangover is ki||ing me, mom. Please do something.β
βI’m coming.β Mrs.Chester hurried to the kitchen and then returned with a glass of black coffee and painki||er drugs.
Beverly collected it and swallowed the pill instantly before taking a sip of the black coffee which she spatted out without hesitation.
βWhat the hell?β She glared at her mother. βWhat the f-__-k is this?β
βBlack coffee. What is it? You don’t like it?β
βAre you seriously asking me that? You of all people should know that I h@Ε₯Δ coffee. Why don’t you think with your brains? Gosh!β
βI’m so sorry, dear. Let me go and get you some water then.β
βJust leave it. I don’t want you to give me poison again.β She heard honking from the compound and immediately knew who it was. βHere,β She handed over the cup of black coffee to her mother and rose to her feet, grabbing her bag. βI’m off to school. My boyfriend is already here to pick me up.β
βAre you not going to drink water first or better still, have a bite of food?β Mrs.Chester asked.
βNo need for that. I’m sure Brent has a bottle of water in his car and as for food, I will eat on my way. See you in school.β She gave her mother a tight smile and went out of the house.
β’β’β’β’
βHey, baby.β She greeted, jumping into the black Range Rover.
βHi, sweetheart. How was your night?β He smirked, planting a soft kiss on her lips.
βMy night was awful!β She grunted. βDo you have water in this car?β
βOh, yes.β He snatched a bottle of water from the back seat and gave it to her. βHangover?β
She nodded her head as a yes, taking a sip of water.
βHow do you feel now?β He asked after a moment of silence.
She shrugged.
βNot bad. Mom gave me a painki||er pill. I will feel better soon. I miss you.β
βI miss you more. Should we have a quickie before leaving for school?β
βI love that idea but I have an even better idea.β She winked at him.
Brent chuckled, knowing what idea was running in her head even without her saying a word.
βThe school driveway, huh? I’ve got you covered, honey pie.β
βOf course.β She giggled.
Brent started the car and drove out of the compound.

Camden walked down to his locker and caught up with Harley.
βHey, Cam.β She greeted with a smile on her face, waving a little bit.
He simply nodded his head in reply.
Harley furrowed her brows, studying him closely.
βAre you okay? You don’t look like your usual bubbly self. What is wrong?β She asked.
Camden exhaled deeply, leaning back to his locker and crossing his arms over his broad chest, staring at his best friend.
βI think I need a good f-__-k.β He said playfully.
βWhat the hell?β She punched him softly on his shoulder, laughing. βI don’t see anything stopping you from f-__-king, Cam. However, I know that isn’t what’s bothering you. Come on, talk to me.β She urged.
Camden hesitated for a few minutes before speaking up,
βSomething happened last night…β He began. βThe whole house was asleep when we were awakened by Esme’s terrifying scream. Everyone rushed out of their various rooms, scared that something bad had happened to her. We entered her bedroom and found her crying on the bed while rubbing her hands together, saying blood. At first, I thought there was a thief in her room but it was stupid of me to think that because there is no way a thief will evade our house security system. Mom and I were willing to listen to Esme and understand what’s happening but Carmen on the other hand,β He shook his head. βShe was not having it at all. She was so upset that she spoke rudely to Esme, disregarding her feelings. I didn’t know what to think at that point about my twin sister. I mean, why would she not care about our little sister? It doesn’t make any sense, right?β
βWhat if she cares?β Harley asked.
βI doubt it because her behavior is giving her away.β He said.
βWell, I don’t know what to say. But why was Esme crying and rubbing her hands together, mumbling blood?β
βShe had a horrifying nightmare.β He answered.
βA nightmare?β Harley repeated with a deep frown. βI’m sorry but, isn’t she old enough to know that nightmares are not real? Like come on, she is a big girl.β
βWell, we wouldn’t know how terrifying the dream was for her unless we were in her position. You will only feel the pain of someone if you are in their shoes.β He stated.
βWhat are you two gossiping about?β Ricco asked, stopping in front of them alongside Oscar.
βNothing important. Where have you both been?β Harley questioned.
βDon’t mind Oscar. He was still sleeping when I got to his house to pick him up.β Ricco said, throwing a glare in his friend’s direction.
βOh, come on, I said I’m sorry. I overslept.β Oscar let out.
βNow I see why you always have a wet dream.β Camden mocked, earning loud laughter from Harley and Ricco and a hard glare from Oscar.

βAhh, f-__-k.β Beverly MΓ΅@Ι²ed, rocking Brent back and forth, her arms wrapped around his neck.
She squeezed her eyes closed, her head falling back as she could feel him getting bigger inside her.
βYou are f-__-king beautiful.β Brent praised, moving upwards to follow her fast pace.
βI love you, Brent. f-__-k!!β She mewled to his ear.
βI love you, baby.β He caught her lips in a heated kiss, gripping her b*m and intentionally rocking her on himself.
Suddenly, they heard a knock on the window, it was a teacher.
βWhat are you both doing there?β He asked them.
Brent didn’t stop driving his ΔΓ―Δk in and out of his girlfriend while Beverly didn’t stop MΓ΅@Ι²ing his name, ignoring the teacher who felt embarrassed and walked away.

βHow long are you going to stand out here seeking answers?β The old woman who physically looks like a woman in her last eighties asked, stepping out of the small hut.
βFor as long as you will grant me answers.β Lilith responded.
βHmm. Be careful of what you seek, child. Not every question deserves an answer.β The woman warned, going back into the house. βCome in.β
Lilith entered the house and shut the door behind her.
βChange into this after transforming to your non-demon form. I can’t have a conversation with you, looking that way.β She retorted and went further into the house.
The hut was in a spell. From outside, it looks like a small hut but as soon as you walk into the hut, it is big with different large corners.
There was a black cat seated on a cradling chair. The cat had large green eyes and it was staring directly at Lilith.
Lilith transformed into her non-demon form and wore the old clothes the woman got for her.
She sighted the cat and smiled. Lilith has always been a cat lover but as for dogs, she h@Ε₯Δd them with passion.
βAre you done?β The woman’s voice rang from the compartment she was in.
Lilith immediately walked down the path, leaving the cute cat behind.
βWhat kept you?β The witch asked as soon as she felt the demon’s presence.
βI love your cat. How old is it?β Lilith asked.
βI didn’t know you were here for my cat.β The woman rolled her eyes. βSit down.β
Lilith did as the woman asked her.
βSo tell me, what answers do you seek?β
βWhat’s my fate? Am I connected to the human world? What doom awaits me in the human world? Why did I have a dream when I am not supposed to? There is a burn that appears from nowhere on my back, why?β She asked all at once.
βCuriosity ki||ed the cat,β The witch told her.
Lilith smirked. βWell, good thing I am a succubus demon.β
βI’m sorry, but I have no answers to give to you.β
βWhat? Why not? Did my parents put you up to this? Did they warn you against telling me anything?β
βThe King and queen didn’t warn me about anything. But the answers you find will cost you a lot. Are you ready to pay the price for it?β
βAnd what’s the price?β She asked.
βYour soul.β
βWhat?β
βGain one, and lose one. You know what I mean, right?β
βBut losing my soul means going to the world of the void and nothingness.β
βYes. Are you ready to pay the price, Lilith?β
It was silent for a few minutes until…
βYes.β
βYes?β The witch repeated, looking surprised. βYou want to give up your soul for answers?β
Lilith nodded her head, giving the woman a look of determination.
βYes.β
