Chapter Fifteen
Louis took his car keys. Running out of his room while he kept on calling Rose.
She must still be at school, he thought as he ran out of the room only to meet his mother.
“Where are you off to?”Geraldine asked.
“I will tell you later”he said trying to walk past her when she pulled him back.
“Are you kidding me. Don’t you know it’s dangerous for you to go out at night?”She asked
“It’s not going to be a full moon tonight, so am still safe”He said as he tried to walk past her again but she pulled him back
“It’s still risky for you. I don’t want your life endangered”She said.
“I will come back home safe but if I don’t go to her then my chances of becoming better is slim”He said
“What do you mean? Who are you going to meet?”She asked looking worried.
“I will tell you everything when I come back”he said as he quickly left the house.

Rose opened her eyes, feeling a bit dizzy and sleepy. She tried getting up but she couldn’t. Her body felt weak and it was hard seeing.
The last thing she remembered was talking to Louis before she was drvgged by someone.
“What should we do with her?” Rose heard a voice. A voice she recognised as Miranda.
“Lock her up?”Another female voice suggested. Definitely Miranda minion.
“Or we should beat her up. Am in the mood to beat some one up”The other minion said.
They didn’t know she was up already cause if they did. They wouldn’t be talking, implicating themself more. It was frustrating that the drug they used on her hasn’t wear off yet. It made her derilious. she couldn’t see their faces. She could only hear their voice.
“Let’s hear what she has to say?”Miranda said as they all kept quiet.
She didn’t hear a thing for a while but she could tell that they were four in number because she could only see their leg while laying on the cold floor.
“We should start a fire?”Miranda asked a while later.
“I don’t think that will be a good idea”one of her minion said again and they all went quiet again.
“I agree too. It would be too risky. What if she dies?”Miranda said this time.
“You will take responsibility for it?”One of her minion asked
“Fine. As long as you are willing to take responsibility for it. Then we will go ahead with your plan. You rule the school anyway. The bullying of the scholar student all started because of you” Miranda said to someone Rose haven’t still heard her voice.
“We will get to work and don’t worry. There won’t be room for mistake” the minion said and as one of them turned to leave.
Rose grasped her leg. “Please. Help me”She begged as she felt more dizzy.
The girl pulled her leg away and left the room. While Miranda and her minion started the fire.
Louis got to school only to hear the fire alarm ringing out loud.
The only thing he could think of was Rose who might be inside.
“What’s going on?”He asked as he went towards a guard.
“The basement is on fire. It’s a real mess in there”The guard replied.
“Is anyone in there? Do you know if someone is there?” He asked.
“We don’t know about that yet but we doubt it. Everyone left already” the guard replied.
Louis was about asking when he saw Miranda and her minion running towards them.
He quickly went to them. Obstructing their path. “Where is Rose?”He asked.
“What do you mean? We have no idea where…..” Miranda stopped when he pulled her roughly by her uniform.
“Where the hell is Rose?”He yelled at her.
“She is…. She is in there”Miranda said, Frightened by Louis angry look.
“If anything happens to Rose. You will pay with your life”He thr_@tened as he run into the school, heading for the basement. Not listening to the security guards who were calling him back.
Rose woke up. Coughing due to the smoke around her. She wasn’t feeling dizzy and she was strong enough to stand.
The whole room was on fire. Just like they planned. They burnt the room. Rose thought as she walked towards the door. Trying to open it but it didn’t budge.
Her phone was laying on the floor and quickly she went to it, calling Louis but there was no reception.
She tried calling again but it gave her the same response. The fire was now getting worst and the smoke was choking Rose so much.
She knelt on the floor, coughing and hoping that someone was on their way to help her.
She couldn’t die like this. She still have a lot of things to do. A lot of things to achieve. She thought as she stood up again. Moving towards the window. She tried to open it but it was locked too and it was hot to touch.
“Rose!”She heard her name being called by a voice she knew so well.
“Louis! Louis! Am here. Am right here!”She yelled out with the little strength she had left.
Thinking he didn’t hear her. She began to hit the window. Not caring that it was hot. She kept on hitting until he came towards it.
“Help me”She begged even as the window separated them.
“Move back!”his muffled voice said and she did as he said. Stepping back while he used something to smash the window. Shattering the glass.
He got in through the window and immediately she went into his arms. Feeling safe and secure.
“Let’s get out of here”He said as he helped her out through the window. He followed suit and once again embrace her into his arms.
“Thanks! Thank you for saving me”she said weakly.
“You can thank me later but first we need to leave here”he said and as they both turned to leave. Her legs went weak. Stopping her from walking and he carried her in his arms.
Rose layed in his arms, starring at him and feeling glad that he had come to her rescue.
Tightening her hold on him she lost consciousness again.

“How is she?”Geraldine Finnegan walked into the room starring at Louis and the girl who layed on the bed unconscious.
“Fine. The doctor says she will survive”Louis replied as he stared at Rose.
“Was it because of her that you chose to leave knowing it could be dangerous for you?”Geraldine asked.
“Yes”he replied.
“Is she your girlfriend?” She asked.
“She’s not. Just someone I have to have close to me”He said.
“Why? Why is she someone you have to have by your side?” She asked and he turned to stare at her.
“It’s because she is my cure”Louis replied.
“Cure? What do you mean?”
“She knows of my real identity mom and before you start talking about getting rid of her. You should know that she has agreed to keep it a secret for me. You know that once I change to vampire. I only get to become a human again when a certain time has pass?” He asked and she nodded.
“If am around her. That doesn’t happen”He added.
“I still don’t understand?”She said looking at Rose sleeping form on the bed and also at Louis.
“What am trying to say is that when I turn into a vampire. I immediately become a human If she is around me.”
“Do you know what you are saying? It doesn’t make sense!”She said as she walked further into the room.
“I thought so at first but then I tried it out for the second time and I can tell you with all sincerity that when am around her. I don’t get to be a vampire”He said and although Geraldine still found it unbelievable. She knew it could be the truth.
“Do you know why it’s happening? I call her my cure because this is the first time that something like this have happened. Do you have an idea of what’s going on?” Louis asked.
“I don’t! But all I can tell you is that if she is really your cure then keep her close to you”She said
“I have every intention of doing so”Louis replied.
“That’s good. I will leave you two now. I still have something to do”She said as she began to leave in a hurry when she stopped by the door way.
“One more thing”She said claiming his attention.
“Don’t get too close to her. She is someone you are meant to get close to but she is also someone who you are meant not to get close to. So don’t get too close to her”Geraldine said and when he would have ask her more on it. She walked off knowing that he would heed to her warning .
