* Two weeks later *
Zavier has been skipping classes for the past two weeks. Their exam started today so he’s in school.
“Hey buddy!”Noah waved from his seat as Xavier walked in. The hall is already filled up.
“Was thinking you’d skip today”Mimi who was seated behind Noah said.
“Wanted to”he muttered.
“You’ll seat accord to your partners!”a lecturer walked in.
“Was expecting this”Noah muttered.
The lecturer began rearranging. Xavier and Finch sat together.
“Heard about June”Finch muttered.
“You don’t miss her like I thought”Xavier said.
“You can’t tell”Finch muttered.
“Let’s talk after this”Xavier said as they stared at the laptops in front of them, waiting for the right time to start.
“Begin!”the lecturer said and they started. The hall became silent immediately, only the tapping of the keyboards could be heard.
It took just thirty minutes for Xavier and Finch to round up. Both walked out afterwards.
“What do you wanna talk about?”Finch asked as they got out.
“Her reply”Xavier said.
“Reply?”
“You said you’d tell her about how you felt and hear what her reply would be so you would know where you stand”Xavier said.
“Rejection……”
*Flash back*Finch and June last conversation*
“You may say it’s not possible but I like you…..no I love you”Finch said, maintaining eye contact with Finch which she didn’t cut.
“I wanna know what you think”he added.
June brought out her phone and put on the app translator.
“Fish, you know say you nice…. the first day way I come this school, na you first talk to me as better person. You be better person but see ehn, our age too far, I no fit like you even if age no dey there. you still get many things to do for this life, so forget about that thing”she said.
His eyes on her. Tears already filled up in his eyes but he kept fighting it, not wanting it to fall. He faked a smile but she held his hand.
“I know say you no dey happy so no try to smile. I go remember you everytime so no think say I go ever forget you….”she said and the tears falled.
He couldn’t hold it anymore. Even though he heard when Xavier asked her the day he took her away in the cafeteria, she said she only likes him as a friend but hearing it directly from her to him hurts badly.
June dropped his hand but hugged him. This wouldn’t be their first hug but this is surely gonna be the last maybe.
He couldn’t hug her back so he only stood while she hugged him.
*End of flashback*
“I thought seeing her the next day wouldn’t make me stop having feelings for her, but I heard she’s gone”Finch said.
“Mom found out about my feelings for her and sent her”Xavier said and Finch chuckled.
“It’s really not funny!”Xavier snapped.
“You expression is”Finch finally laughed.
“Talking to you was a mistake!”Xavier started walking away.
“I’m gonna tag along on the trip to meet her friend!”Finch said and Xavier turned but Finch already ran off. Slowly, Xavier smiled.
“The both of them look cute”Mimi giggled. She and Noah has been watching them.
“I’m still his best friend!”Noah groaned and Mimi laughed.
“I can sense jealousy!”Mimi giggled as she walked ahead.
“I should be, he’s my best friend”Noah followed.
“You like being straight forward”she said and he smiled but shaked it off.
“You like it?”
“No!”she said and they he frowned.
They finally got to the cafeteria but Xavier isn’t seen.
“He went home”Noah said.
“Oh, let’s eat”she sat down.
A girl walked to Noah and sat next to him.
“Wanna meet in the restroom?”the girl whispered while Mimi scoffed.
“Now?”Noah smirked.
“I need it badly”she smiled and he stood up along her.
“You’re not planning on ditching me right?”Mimi said.
“I’ll be back”he said.
“Remember, you’d do anything I want, so tell her to leave”Mimi said.
“Mimi….”
“You accepted”Mimi snapped.
“Listen Mimi, beings friends doesn’t mean you have to order him”the girl said.
“Who the hell do you think you are to get in a couple conversation!”Mimi sprang up.
“You’re both dating?”the girl faced Noah.
“Tell her”Mimi said.
“Yeah, my mom….”Noah was still talking when she slapped him.
“You f-__-king played me!”she shouted.
“You aren’t a toy”Mimi said.
“I’ll be happy if he does same to you!”she said and walked away angrily while Mimi sat down and started eating.
“Mimi!”
“Just h@ťěd the sight of you both, you shouldn’t flirt with another girl when your girlfriend is there, sorry fake girlfriend”she said.
“Let’s not talk to each other!”Noah said.
“Oh really! Let’s do that!”she said and he walked away.
“What does he take me for, can’t he stay a day without doing that thing!”Mimi snapped.

* GARDEN
Finch met Gold there already.
“Hey!”he sat beside her and she smiled before pecking his check.
She has been doing that for the past two weeks, though Finch hasn’t said he likes her, but they meet here everyday and have gone on dates which she brought up.
“Your exam?”he asked.
“Amazing since I got to study with you”she smiled.
“You look more happy today”he said.
“I do?”
“You’ve always looked happy but today…. it’s more”he said and she smiled more.
“Don’t know why”she muttered.
“I got you something”he said and she faced him well.
“Show me”she giggled and he chuckled.
“Here”he brought out a necklace.
“Awww….. beautiful”
“I’ll put it on”he said and got up, walking begin her to put it on.
“I love it”she smiled.

< Island >
Xavier just got home.
“What are you doing here?”he asked, he met his mom in the living room.
“You skipped classes for two weeks!”she shouted.
“Not gonna even ask how I am? he muttered.
“Off course you’re fine!”she said and he nodded.
“I h@ťě noise”he said as he climbed the stairs while she followed.
“You can’t stop college cause of June!”she said.
“It’s my life, I can do wh@ťěver I like”he said.
“You still have a year!”
“Stop it mom! I don’t know why you’re getting serious all of a sudden. You weren’t serious when I told you I want June back, remember mom, I lose her you lose me”he said.
“Five years! It’s no child play!”she shouted.
“I’m sure when you leave here, you’d get a call that I seat for the exam but I’m not sure of what I wrote”he smirked and walked into June’s room, shutting the door.
Ma Angel instantly brought out her phone to dial a contact but a call came in. Same person she wanna call.
“His exam”she said.
“I’m not sure he’s the one who wrote it, it’s all wrong”the caller said and she hanged up.
“Xavier!!!!!”
“Give me her contact and I’ll sit for the exam again”Xavier said from the room and she sighed.
“Fine”she said and the door to the room opened instantly.
“Here”he handed her his phone and she inhaled before bringing out her phone.
“She doesn’t have a phone yet, but that’s the contact of the person she’s staying with”she said and he smiled.
“Nice”he walked back to the room and shut the door.
Ma Angel’s phone rang again.
“It was a mistake, I saw the real one”the caller said and hanged up.
“Xavier!”
“You taught me well”he said and she walked away.
He paid the lecturer to lie.

June just finished eating.
“Are you ready?”Grace asked from the living room.
“Yes I am”June said.
“Let’s start today’s lecture then”Grace said as she got to the living room, sitting opposite her.
Grace’s phone interrupted her from talking.
“Who’d this?”she asked as she picked.
“Xavier, I wanna speak to June”he said and Grace looked at June.
“Who gave you this….”
“My mom hired you right?”he cut in and she sighed.
“Fine”she said and handed the phone to June. Just as she gave her, a message from Ma Angel came in but she didn’t see it.
“Who’s this?”June asked.
“Xavier”he said and she smiled.
“Xavier”she said. The first thing she learnt was the names she spoilt. Xavier as Zavier, Finch as fish while Diamond as die young.
“How have you been?”she asked, she could hear him chuckled.
“You just…. you said right English”he said.
“You heard right”she smiled.
