CHAPTER 37&38: A NIGHT WITH HIM.

I wanted to run and hug him so tight, but I couldn’t. The eyes staring at me won’t give me the chance to. Plus the fact that young Mr Jayden was present, what the f_ck am I thinking?
Pablo walks up to the bar table, sitting on one of the long stools. “Hey,”
“Hey.” I said, blushing.
It’s been long since I looked at this face. So long since I last stared into the eyes of the man I loved. And here we are, fulfilling all lost righteousness.
“Mind for any thing?” I asked.
“No, thanks. I’m full.” He glared around the restaurant, nodding his head with a smile. “Nice shop.” He said.
“Thank you.”
“Never knew you’d grow so big in just a week. I mean, look around, every one do talk about you in the street.”
“Really? They do?”
“They always do. All thanks to them, it gave me the chance to find you.”
I smiled. I never thought he’d come for me. I thought that bullshit of a letter I had dropped for would make him stay back and focus on what the future has for him, stupid me to think I can survive an entire day without him.
“Bella, you take care of the rest, I’ll be back soon.”
“No problem.” She agreed.
Pablo and I left the restaurant to have a private chat. It’s been a long time since we did that.
“How is your father?” I started.
“I don’t know. It’s been a week now.” He replied, sounding cold.
“Oh please, Pablo, don’t tell me you turned the request down already.”
“I had to, Ana. You don’t expect me to sit and pretend like I didn’t see your letter? You left without saying a good bye, and that’s all because of him. We made a deal, he broke it. So, I don’t give a d@mn about the empire any more. Whether Micheal owns it or not, I don’t f_cking care.”
“Pablo, Micheal shouldn’t take over the empire. If he does, every thing you hoped for will be gone. Think about it, you’re the reason why your father is alive, and now that you’re gone, who knows what condition he might be in now. Plus the fact that Micheal is hot headed to become the next mob leader, who knows if he must have strangled your father to death.”
Pablo looked at me.
“Yes. That @$$h0le is an idiot. Your absence is an opportunity for him to do wh@ťěver he wants and take the empire for good.”
“I already promised my father I wouldn’t return if I don’t find you. And if Micheal takes the empire, that’s good news. Besides, he’s the first born of the Escobar’s and he deserves that honor.”
“But you deserve it the most. You just don’t understand why your father chose you to take after him, he has seen that Micheal will bring nothing but destruction and he’s going to do wh@ťěver it takes to hunt you down for good. He doesn’t even want you alive.” We stopped walking. “If he eventually becomes the next leader, he’s gonna take me away from you and you don’t want that to happen, do you?”
He sighed.
“You want me to go back to New York City?” He asked.
I nodded my head. “I want you to go back, and I want you to become the leader your father has always hoped for.” I walked close to him, placing my hand on his left cheek. “When you finally become that leader, I’ll be waiting for you to come take me home.”
I know it would be so difficult to watch him leave, but I have to. Becoming the next mob leader is the only chance for me to walk into the Escobar family without fear.
I will do wh@ťěver it takes to watch Micheal fall on his knees and beg for my forgiveness. And I will make sure Pablo pays him ten times the pains he cursed to me. If not for any thing, but for stealing my pride from me.
“Promise me you won’t leave. Promise me you won’t let any other man into your life.”
“I promise you that I will not let any man into my life. I don’t care how long it takes for you to come back, I’ll be waiting. I’ll be waiting for you, Pablo.”
He grabbed me into his arms. “I’ll go home tomorrow, and I’ll take the empire. After that, I’m coming back for you, I promise.”
“I know. I believe you.”
