She opened the entrance door to see her mother busy with a full plate of popcorn and a full glass of wine on the table, with her eyes busily staring at the television.
She would throw a seed of the popcorn into her mouth, diluting it with her wine.
” What took you so long Esmeralda? I almost thought you were ki||ed on the way.” She said, not noticing it was Harmonie.
” I didn’t die.” Mrs Grant moved her gaze to Harmonie who’s face was plastered with a wide smile which reached her both ends, causing an invisible dimple.
” Oh, my daughter, you are back.” She rushed, pulling her into her arms. ” You just don’t know how much I’ve missed you. I tried calling your number but it keeps saying network busy.”
” There’s bad network in that area. Honestly, I did miss you too, mother.” They hugged again.
” Are you hungry? ”
” No. I ate before coming. Don’t worry, preserve it for tomorrow.”
” Okay.” They both sat down. ” So tell me, how was the marking ritual?”
” It went well, mother. ”
” Can I have a look at the mark?”
Harmonie shifted the collar of her shirt, exposing the teeth mark to her mother.
” Does it… hurt?” She asked, making painful faces.
” Before but not anymore. I feel like nothing happened.”
Mrs Grant smiled. ” Very soon, my daughter will become a woman.”
She forced herself to smile. Why would she have to keep saying that over and over again like she needed a grandchild now and then.
” You look stressed out, why don’t you get a shower and get some rest too.”
Harmonie nodded. ” Good night, mom.”
” Good night, darling.”
Harmonie took with her her bag up to her room. She didn’t even bothered taking her bath. As soon as she walked into her room, all her mind could interpret at that moment was sleep.
She yawned tiredly, rubbing her eyes gently. She dozed off.
There was a loud sound from the outside, she jerked awake. She went straight to the sitting room, the lights were off.
So soon?
” Mother?” She called but there came no reply.
She slightly opened the door, walking out of the door and out of the building.
There was something which looks like sparkles, it kept flashing after every three seconds.
Harmonie was staring confused. What was going on was unexplainable.
Would it be that someone was tampering with the multi universe?
The sparkles became brighter and slowly getting wider until it has formed a wide circle.
Harmonie kept staring inquisitively as an image appeared from the other side.
The wolf slowly walked but the gap it gave at each movement was able to cover ten steps of an ordinary man.
” What. The. f_ck.” Her mouth flew opened in shock.
The figure finally made its way out of the portal, transforming into a human form. She wasn’t just shocked, she was d@mn scared to the bones.
” Mr Anderson?” She called the name like it held burden.
” Hello, Miss Grant. It’s a pleasure to meet you unaware.” He smiled.
” What do you want to?”
” I’m certain you already know what I want.”
” I don’t know what you’re talking about. It would be better if you’d just go straight to the point.”
” Fine. I know what your pathetic mates are up against me. Do they think they can defeat me even if they have to join forces with the wolf wolves in the planet? They just don’t know who and what I am.”
” Well, I do. You’re a monster who feeds on human heart. Now let me ask you, what makes you think you won’t be defeated?”
” Because I am… Unstoppable.”
” Unstoppable my @zz. You know what? Just stop giving yourself the encouraging words to make you believe that you can survive them. As soon as your case is carefully planned, they are getting back to you.”
” Oh. Oh, I’m scared. Mommy please save me.” He mocked. ” Nonsense. Aren’t you surprised why I had to mount a CCTV camera after your lovely boyfriend ki||ed those girls back in school?
Do you think I didn’t know it was him? Of course, I do. But then, I didn’t want to create a scene. I know I’d use him for my gain but poor me, he changed all of a sudden. My plans was ruined.”
” And so will it be ruined again.”
” No. This time, I am alone. I don’t think I’ll ever rely on anyone anymore to catch my prey.”
” What do you want from us? Haven’t you had enough? ”
” Enough?” He chuckled. ” I haven’t even started yet.”
” Then get ready to embrace your death. Soon enough, you’ll join your ancestors. ” She thr_@tens.
” That doesn’t scare me. Watch this..” he moved his hand in a circle, creating a portal which led to a different dimension. In the portal, she could see a thousand number of Lycan creatures assembled in lines.
” This are my people who have devoted their lives to defeat your pathetic boyfriend and his newly found friend.”
Harmonie’s heart started to beat fast. The creatures looked horrific and scary, like soldiers ready for world war. ” Now you’ve seen what I have, who will fight along side Ace?”
