⟨ BACK IN THE COTTAGE ⟩
“Are these yours?” Cheng asked looking at the Chinese rose flower.
“Actually they’re for you” Tatiana asked.
“Really?” Cheng asked with a smile on his face, touching the Chinese rose flower.
“Yes Cheng. Prince Waylon was the one who gave it to me” Tatiana said.
“Waylon?” Cheng asked and Tatiana nods her head.
“Yes Cheng” She said and Cheng smiles lightly.
“He still loves growing flowers” He said.
“Yes he does. He even have a garden filled with different flowers in the main palace” Tatiana said.
“How is he like now?” Cheng asked with sadness in his eyes.
“He’s kindhearted, both he and Princess Narmada are kind-hearted people and easy to interect with. He’s handsome, but you’re more handsome” She said and Cheng smiles charmingly.
“I miss all of them. Queen Anjali and Thiago might have been mean to me back then, but I miss all of them. Queen Anjali’s child must’ve grown, right?” Cheng asked.
“Yes he has. He’s is a little prince who’s curious to know about you, but the royal family is refusing to tell him anything about you” Tatiana said.
“I won’t blame them. I’m a demon” Cheng said sadly.
“Don’t call yourself a demon Cheng. You didn’t choose to become a demon with dark power. If I have the powers of the heavens, I would have helped you get rid of the demon inside of you”.
“Powers of the heavens? What’s that?” Cheng asked.
“Just like how demons, witches and dark magic exist, Angels also exist too. They’re the guardians of the earth and helps humans from dark forces” Tatiana said.
“How did you know about that?” Cheng asked sitting beside her.
“From my late Mother. She usually tells me stories about demons and Angels. I didn’t want to believe that they existed, but after I got to find out that a demon is inside of you, then I began to have this believe that if demons exist that means Angels exist too”.
Cheng smiles and takes the Chinese rose flowers.
“I promise to look after this?” He said.
“Of course you should. It’s a gift from me” Tatiana said and yawns afterwards.
“Are you sleepy?” He asked.
“I think I’m” She answers. Cheng tapped his shoulder signaling her to place her head on his shoulder. Tatiana smiles and rest her head on his shoulder.
“Go ahead and sleep Tiana, I’ll take you back to the main palace” He said.
“How are you going to do that?” She asked.
“Since I already know your scent, I can easily tell where you sleep inside the palace”.
“You can?” Tatiana asked with her eyes closed.
“Yes I can. Once I know what you smell like, I can easily tell where you are. I can’t know anything about my family cuz I don’t know their scent” Cheng said.
He looks at Tatiana and she was already sleeping. Cheng smiles admiring her beautiful small face.
“Goodnight Tiana” He said. He caress her hair and Tatiana teleported back to Kira’s room, laying on the bed.
Cheng smiles after he has done that. He took the flower and added more life to it. He then looks at the the fire stick stand and in a twinkle of an eye, it went off.
He rest his back on the wall, closing his eyes. He doesn’t sleep in the bed, neither does he sleep with the fires on. And it usually takes a lot of hours before he can drift off to sleep.

⟨ NEXT DAY ≈ SUPRIYA’S ROOM ⟩
“Is everything okay with you? You look moody” Supriya said to Harlow who had a sullen face.
“Is Waylon” Harlow said.
“Don’t tell me you both fought again. You both are grown ups, when will your fightings end?” Supriya asked.
“Exactly my point Supriya. He always gets mad at me anytime I bring up the issue of the poor breeds being disgusting” Harlow said.
“Well you can’t blame him. He and his sister Narmada are the same. Always treating the poor breeds like they’re of the same class with them. That’s why we never get along and I’m kind happy that Thiago is nothing like Waylon and Narmada” Supriya said, sipping her cup of liquor.
“At least you are lucky, you got betrothed to the man you love, but as for me, I’m stuck in being his childhood friend” Harlow said sadly.
“Then tell him how you feel” Supriya said.
“You already know is not allowed in Maelstrom. A maiden can’t be the first to make a move on a man. And I’m from a Noble family which makes it more worst. I love Waylon, I don’t know if he knows about it or if he’s just to blind to see it” Harlow said.
“Don’t worry Harlow, I’m sure he’s going to come around” Supriya said.
“Have you noticed anything about him lately?” Harlow asked.
“Notice anything like what?” Supriya asked.
“The last time I came here, I saw him looking at a maid. I didn’t get to see her face, but Waylon was looking at her and smiling. Do you know who she might be?” Harlow asked.
“No I don’t. I just came back from my kingdom after visiting my family. I’m sure she’s one of recruited maids, but don’t worry Harlow, I’ll dig into it” Supriya said and Harlow smiles..
“Thanks Supriya” She said.
“Shall we continue with our drink?”.
“Yes we shall” Harlow answers.
And both laughed.

⟨ OUTSIDE THE PALACE ⟩
Swati heaves a sigh looking tired. She has just finished serving her master and was tired from the work. She was just strolling around Maelstrom and she indeed missed Tatiana so much.
“Is so boring without Tatiana. If I had known she’s going to leave me to go after her love life, I would have made lots of friend, now I’m stuck being alone since is not her off day yet” Swati said sadly.
A palanquin stopped in front of her and a man came out from inside the palanquin.
“Can I have a word with you?” He asked.
Swati looks at him to observe who he was. His face wasn’t familiar, but she could tell he belonged to the rich breed with the way he was dressed. His robe was expensive and sparkling as well.
“Yes. You can, how may I help you?” Swati asked.
“You’re familiar with Maelstrom, right?” The Man asked.
“Yes I’m” Swati answers.
“My name is Marcellus. I’m a scholar from succie kingdom. I’m appointed to teach the youngest prince of the Royal family. Do you by chance know a place I can pay for all through my stay here?” Marcellus asked.
Swati looks at him from head to toe and smiles.
“Yes I do, I know a good place for you to stay” Swati said smiling.
“Really? You do” Marcellus asked with a smile.
“Yes. But is going to cost you 65 coins” Swati said.
“65 coins? That’s not a problem, as long as it’s comfortable, I’m in” He said.
Swati looks at him and smiles.
