Esmeralda walked into Matilda’s suite
“My lady!”
Matilda turned and faced her
“Have you heard what’s going on?” Esmeralda asked and Matilda raised her brows
“What’s that?” Matilda asked
“The king left the palace with Adelaide” Esmeralda said
“What? They sneaked out together??”
“Of course my lady”
“I knew that witch is a bad egg the moment she came into this palace,how can she take the king out of the palace??!!” Matilda snapped angrily
“What are you doing to do now my lady” Esmeralda asked
“What am I going to do?? The king doesn’t even want to see me!” She snapped and Esmeralda bite her lips

Adelaide and Lucian kept on walking,watching different dramas as they walked. It was so fun since no one recognized him as the king.
“My son,please can you help me with this??” A woman suddenly called as she tried to carry two small barrels at a time
Adelaide’s eyes widened immediately and she looked at Lucian,he smiled at her and immediately walked toward the woman who already carried one.
“Please help me with the second one,I’m going to the last shop over there” She pointed
Lucian nodded and bent to carry the barrel but was shocked when he felt how heavy it is,he looked up immediately
“What,you can’t carry it?” The woman asked
“Let me help” Adelaide immediately said and moved closer to Lucian
“Oh goodness,are you even a man at all?? As a man,you should be able to carry the two barrels at a time,but you can’t even carry one?” The woman shook her head and Adelaide blinked her eyes
“Move,I will carry it” Lucian said and pulled Adelaide to the side
He lifted the barrel with all his power
‘What the f-__-k!!!” Lucian screamed in his head as he started following the woman
Adelaide also followed behind them
They kept on walking
Adelaide would glance at Lucian every second,he was really struggling hard to carry the barrel
She walked faster and caught up with the woman
“Ma’am,please where is the shop?” She asked
“It’s over there pretty,do you have a fiancee already? My son…..”
“She’s married” Lucian immediately said and Adelaide looked at him
“Wow really? You’re married,you look so young and pretty” The woman said and Adelaide smiled
She faced Lucian and he scoffed
After what took like forever,they stopped in front of the shop and Lucian dropped the barrel immediately,breathing heavily
“Thank you son,but you should be a man” The woman said
Adelaide and Lucian bowed at the same time and walked away
“My king,are you okay?” Adelaide asked
Lucian let out a wince when she touched his shoulder
“You’re hurt? Should we just go back to the palace?” Adelaide asked
“Don’t worry I’m fine,I don’t think I’ve ever carried something as heavy as that in my life,but it was fun” He smiled shortly and Adelaide nodded
They continue walking
All of a sudden,a drunk man bumped into King Lucian
“Hey watch….where you’re going!!” The man shouted drunkenly,pointing a finger to Lucian’s eyes
“You bumped into him,what are you talking about?” Adelaide immediately said
“What do you mean?? Who asked you to talk?” The man said and raised his hand to slap Adelaide who instantly moved back
Lucian grabbed the man’s hand and pushed him back
“Are you really trying to hit her?” He asked with an angry look
“Wow….is she your girlfriend?? Should I teach you two a lesson…..” Before he could finish,Lucian removed his sword from the sheath and the man’s eyes widened
“What….what…are you….trying to do?” He stammered
“Are you going to walk away in peace or you want it the other way?” Lucian asked
The man cleared his throat and simply walked away
Adelaide sighed
King Lucian pushed his sword back into the sheath and turned to Adelaide
“Are you okay?” He asked
“Yes my…..yes master” She replied and Lucian nodded before they continued
“Everyone seems to be busy with one thing or the other” Lucian said
“You’re right master,they have to work so they can eat. I know exactly how it feels like” Adelaide muttered
“Where are your parents?” Lucian asked
“I have no parents master”
“They are dead?”
“I didn’t grow to know my mother,but my father died just few months ago” Adelaide replied
Lucian was about asking more
“My king,look over there. I think a festival is going on,would you like to watch?” Adelaide aside pointing out at the place which seems to be so rowdy
Sounds of drums could be heard and it was filled up with people
“Let’s go” Lucian said and they walked over to the place
It was more like a gathering,the dancers are on the stage performing
“Wow,they dance so well” Adelaide smiled watching the girls as they moved according to the sounds
“Are you enjoying it? It’s different from the royal festivals even though I’ve never attended one” Adelaide turned to Lucian
“I guess it’s different but fun” Lucian replied and Adelaide smiled
They were still standing when suddenly a woman walked to them
“I guess you two have nothing to do,come over here we need servers” She said
Lucian and Adelaide immediately exchanged glances
“Why are you looking at each other?? There will be food for you two after the work,come with me immediately” She said and dragged Adelaide’s hand
Lucian had no choice than to follow
In a second,the other already gave them the food carriers
“Hey,are you not going to remove the veil from your face?” One of them asked Lucian
“No I can’t” He replied
“That won’t stop you from working anyway,you should be fast,go go”
“My king…” Adelaide whispers and Lucian looked at her
“I’m really sorry,it’s all my fault. I will never suggest something like this ever in my life….”
“What are you two waiting for?! You should not be lazy!” They heard the woman’s voice
“Let’s just do it” Lucian muttered
Adelaide groaned as they both started serving the guests
Lucian on one side while Adelaide in another side
“Did you see the maiden serving there?” One of the men Lucian was serving asked his friends
“She’s really hot,I’m sure what’s between her legs will taste delicious also” Another one said and immediately Lucian intentionally poured the wine all over him
The man sprang up immediately
“Are you blind?!!!” He called,calling the attention of others
“I’m sorry” Lucian apologized with a bow
“Sorry?!!! Will sorry clean this mess??!!” The man yelled again and Lucian glared at him
“How dare you glare at me like that!” The man yelled and pushed Lucian’s head
Adelaide immediately ran to the scene
“You can’t treat him that way” She said
“Why can’t I? Who the h*ll is he??!!” The man shouted and tried to remove Lucian’s veil
Lucian immediately poured the remaining wine on his face and grabbed Adelaide’s hand
“Run” he said and they ran out immediately
“Get them!!!!!”
Some young men started chasing after them
“I think we are in trouble my king” Adelaide said as they kept on running
“I know” Lucian replied
Adelaide removed her hand from his grip
“What are you doing? Do you want to get caught?”
“No my king,I know this place more than you do so just follow my lead” Adelaide said and grabbed Lucian’s hand instead
They started running again and the men kept chasing them
After passing different short conners,the men lost them and they appeared beside a river
They both stopped to catch their breaths while panting heavily and tiredly
“My king……please…..forgive me” Adelaide said weakly
Lucian exhaled and looked at her
“You are really a whole bunch of trouble” He said
“I’m sorry” Adelaide muttered
“What’s this river?” Lucian asked
“Oh,it’s called the Modoke River. You’re the king, shouldn’t you know everything in Suidan?” Adelaide asked
“You think so?” Lucian said
“Maybe not” Adelaide said
Her eyes suddenly went wide when she saw a giant spider coming toward them
*HIS BIGGEST FEAR IS SPIDER*
She remembered what Lisa told her and immediately faced Lucian who was still looking around
“My king,I think we should go now” She said
“Why? I’m enjoying the atmosphere here” Lucian said
“We need to go” Adelaide said and Lucian faced her
“Is it that urgent??” He asked
“Yes…because…”
“Because??” He raised his brows
“There’s a spider” Adelaide pointed at the big giant spider and Lucian’s eyes widened
The spider stood on a spot without moving
“That…that thing is not going to come here right?” King Lucian asked and started moving back slowly
“That’s why we need to leave,that’s not the way. It’s here” Adelaide said
“That means we have to pass the spider”
“Yes……” Adelaide didn’t finish when the spider started walking toward Lucian
“Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!” He screamed and immediately picked a race
Adelaide couldn’t believe her eyes as she stared at him running like a little kid scared of a spider
The spider followed him
“Help!!!!! Mother!!!!” Lucian Screamed as he started climbing the nearest tree in a hurry
