“For how long have you known my brother? Had no idea you two already know each other” Verity smiled.
She’s been talking and making Annika laugh since they got to her office.
“We’ve known each other since Highschool” Annika replied,she opened her hollandia youghurt and drank from it.
“Are you kidding?” Verity creased her brows and widened her eyes at the same time.
She began eating from her Ooey Gooey fries again,that she had stopped eating due to the sweet talk she and Annika are having.
After they both left Dexter’s Office,or rather,after Annika left Dexter’s Office. Verity followed Annika to her Office immediately,eyeing Dexter who was busy rolling eyes at her and chuckling.
So,they went to the cafe to get food,and that’s what they are enjoying right now while talking.
“Mm hmm” Annika replied,throatily.
She grimaced and held her stomach when she felt a sharp pain on her abdoment,but the pain left instantly.
“Are you alright?” Verity asked with so much concern in her voice.
“I am fine,Verity,thanks. It can’t be time already,can it?” Annika asked herself as she thought inwardly.
“Sure?” Verity asked again,and she nodded.
“You’ve known each other since Highschool and I had no clue?” She said. She suddenly remembered when they were at Dexter’s Office and she giggled.
“How has it been,working with my brother,and as his Secretary?” Verity asked as she eats more from her fries.
“Well,it’s been great,I must say….and shockingly,I love my job here. Only that your brother is annoying” Annika jibed,making Verity to chuckle.
“You two never get along,do you?” Verity asked,grinning.
“We don’t,because he’s always being a jerk,and always mean” Annika snapped with a little frown on her face. Verity giggled.
“Aside working here,do you have any other thing you want to do,or you really really love your job like you said” Verity said funnily,and that made Annika to laugh.
“You’re really crazy and funny. Well,I actually want to start up a business,clothing business to be precise,once I save up enough” Annika replied,smiling.
“Wow! That’s actually cool,I’d be your biggest buyer. Just make sure you stock your boutique with a lot of designers clothes and shoes” Verity gushed.
“As you wish,Miss” Annika replied,and they both laughed.
“I really love this outfit of yours,I can see you and your jerk brother love slaying a lot” Annika said,taking another gulp again.
Verity chuckled,but suddenly started smirking,staring deeply at Annika.
Annika began wondering why she’s suddenly smirking.
Nevertheless,she took the last gulp from the youghurt,and….
“Do you love my brother?” Verity blurted.
“Hmm?!” Annika spewed out the youghurt both from her mouth and nose.
^^TWO HOURS LATER>>DEXTER’S OFFICE^^
“Bring the stock files,record books and all the sales books to my Office in the next one hour” Dexter told Ryan over the telephone with an order.
“Yes,sir” Ryan answered with a bow,even when Dexter cannot see him.
Dexter hung up,and heaved a sigh of relief.
~~I still have like three weeks before resuming work,and I’ll be coming here more often till then ~~
Dexter reminiced what Verity said.
“Verity won’t be the end of me” He hissed,and scoffed.
“Where is that witch of a Secretary?” He questioned himself with fixed eyes on the door.
He sent for Annika,that’s why his eyes are fixed on the door,anxiously waiting for her to walk through it and get in.
He doesn’t know why,but he just feels seeing her face,and looking for trouble too.
He was still in his thoughts when Annika walked in slugishly.
A bright smile shone on his face the moment he saw her,but he replaced it immediately with a serious face.
Though,Annika saw him smiling,and she rolled eyes.
She felt the same pain again she had felt earlier,and she groaned inwardly.
“Sir….?” She respectfully said when she walked in fully.
“Schedule a meeting for tomorrow” He said,sharply.
“Okay,and….?” Annika said slowly.
“And nothing,you can leave” Dexter replied simply.
“Really? You sent for me just for that? A telephone call would have done that,yunno. I just stressed my legs for nothing!” Annika barked.
“At least,your legs didn’t break. You should even thank me for making you do a little excercise” Dexter barked too.
Annika scoffed,and turned to leave,as Dexter was busy chuckling.
“Annika,stop!” He stopped chuckling,and ordered her to stop.
“What!?” Annika snapped but stopped,anyway.
“You….you’re….stained” Dexter stuttered,as he forced the words out.
Annika understood what he meant by that immediately. And at that very moment,she felt like the ground should open up and swallow her right that instant,just to take away the shame she’s feeling right now.
She instantly froze on the spot and couldn’t move an inch. Anyway,she managed to turn,facing Dexter. Such that,her back cannot be seen by Dexter again.
“I knew it,I just felt it’s time. But this f-__-king came too early” She yelped inwardly,picking on her fingers.
Her heart literally flew out of her chest when Dexter got off his seat,and walked to her.
Well,it wasn’t quite what she thought it would be.
“I’m so sorry” He held her hand tenderly,and said.
Annika bit her lip hard,and found herself nodding.
“I’ll be right back. Just don’t leave my Office yet” He said,and left immediately,leaving Annika totally dumbfounded.
“This is the worst day of my life! But what’s Disaster up to?” She wondered aloud,still standing on the same spot,waiting for him.
^^TEN MINUTES LATER^^
Dexter came back with big different shopping bags.
One contains diapers and wipes,another contains pads and tampoons,then the other contains dresses and pants.
Annika widened her eyes when she saw him with the bags,looking like a crazy guy. She felt the urge to laugh,but held the laugh back.
There’s actually a shopping mall opposite the Company,and that’s where he got all those things from.
“Here….some diapers,pads,clothes and pants are in there. Go inside my Emergency room,clean and change up” He said,and Annika just felt like sinking into the ground.
“Diapers? Pants?” She said,nervously.
“Yeah,I can help you,if you don’t mind” Dexter smirked.
“Dexter…..” Annika called his name slowly for no reason,as if she should cry.
“Mmm…?” Should we go in?” He asked,picking up the bags that contain pads,dresses and p*nties.
“Dexter!!” She screamed his name.
