CHAPTER THREE

I couldn’t look away. Not when his eyes hypnotizes me. Not when his eyes bewitches me. I wanted to look at his eyes forever. The rise and fall of his stomach as he breathed under my weight was more fascinating. I wanted to lower myself to his stomach and touch his abs.

“Get off me now! You’re heavy!” His voice sounded and I felt strong hands lifting me away from his body.

I didn’t even struggle. Why would I? When his eyes is worshipping me. Who is he? How is he here? Is he among the men who came to beat me up?

I frowned. Then I began to struggle in the mens’ grasp. “Let me go! Hey yellow eyes! Are you not ashamed? Belittling yourself to my level! Isn’t that stupidity and foolishness?” I asked watching him rise from the floor to his full height.

My heart trembled at his long and large body. His body sliding towards me. I struggled to free myself from the men holding me but no, they weren’t gonna let me go.

And he was coming closer and closer. His yellow eyes getting dimmer and dimmer. I gulped. “You are too old to be playing games like this? Don’t you think so? You can’t gang up with kids to beat me up?”

He scoffed. “Why would I do that? If a child like you wrongs me, I’d just send you to the juvie.”

I frowned. He thinks me a child? I guess he’s got sharp mouth too. But where are those guys who were attacking me earlier, I looked around to see them kneeling, with their hands in the air. Okay, what’s happening? Why would he kneel them down when they are in this together? Just who the hell is this man?

“You hit me, and then you talk as you want to me too?” He lowered his face to mine, I quickly breathed in, sucking as much breathe as possible. His lashes were flapping like that of a woman’s as he stared at me. I swallowed. My stomach was rumbling. I was sweating. What’s wrong with me?

“Release her.” He said and the men let me go. And I almost fell to the floor. I didn’t know I was that weak until this man stood infront of me. I almost fell if not he helped me to my feet by sliding one of his large arms across my back, his fingers poking my ribs and touching my waist.

I never knew I was like musical instruments until his hands touched me. My body began to play like a guitar. The strings being his hands which were touching my skin.

I couldn’t even push him away. “Estás bien. (Are you okay?) They must’ve scared you.” He said softly, his hand touching my butt as he tried dusting off dirt on my pant. I didn’t stop him. I was enjoying the feel of his hand on my body.

What if I had his hand working on other parts of my body too? Won’t it feel nice? Oh! What am I thinking? “Are you really okay?” He asked me again, his eyes peering at my cheeks making me want to run into his arms and breathe him in forever.

I wanted his arms to wrap me up. “Your cheeks are so red.” He said making me feel flustered. I covered my cheeks while he smiled. “Hey, Montero, take her home.” He ordered one of the men who bowed and came towards me.

He pulled off his coat and put it on my shoulders, guiding my hands into the hands of the coat. He was smiling at me. “This will keep you warm. Don’t worry, these boys won’t ever thr_@ten you again, I will make sure of that.” He assured me while the Montero guy led me away.

RICARDO’S POV

I rushed the boys as they were about to pounce on her. She was whimpering, covering her ears and eyes. She must’ve been very scared as she squatted down on the floor. The guy wanting to slap her, I grabbed him and handed him over to my boys who closed in at me immediately they saw me change direction.

My body guards rushed the boys as they directed their anger at me. Trying to hit me They pinned them to the floor with their hands on their head.

I went to the girl. She was shaking. Her eyes shut tight. I was pained. How can they hit a girl as little and as frail as she is. I tried to touch her when I felt an instant pain in my groin.

Ugh! I groaned loudly, the girl had kneed me in my groin. I didn’t even know what was happening until I felt my back landing heavily on the hard floor with her on top of me.

Her hand in the air, ready to hit me but she stopped looking into my eyes. She must’ve been so shocked. Imagine her retaliating for what they’d done to her. Such a sweet little girl. She was cute. Her eyes brimming with anger and then subsiding to that of a cute stare.

“Get off me now! You’re heavy!” I said trying to bring her back to reality. She seemed to have fazed away. Maybe she’s troubled by what just happened to her.

But no need for her to be scared now. I’m here for her. I’ve saved her. I wanted to lift her off my body by myself but my men were grabbing and pulling her away when they heard me complain.

I sighed. My men will always be my men. I heaved and looked at the girl struggling. Trying to free herself from them. How weak! My eyes went to those teenage boys and my anger returned.

How could they be so cruel? This girl is too frail for them to touch let alone hit. Do they want to ki|| her? What if I didn’t show up? They would’ve done something worse than beating her.

But why beat her? How innocent looking she is. From her stature and her cute face, I’m pretty sure that she can’t even hurt a fly.

“Let me go! Hey yellow eyes! Are you not ashamed? Belittling yourself to my level! Isn’t that stupidity and foolishness?” Her tiny voice squealed as I got up to my feet.

A smile tugged at one corner of my lips. Her voice is just perfect for singing. So delicate. But the look on her face, as angry as I’ve ever seen any girl be.

I didn’t let her last words bother me. Not like that’s the first time I’m hearing them. She’s scared and everyone is a thr_@t to her now, that’s why she’s angry. And that’s why she’s talking too.

“You are too old to be playing games like this? Don’t you think so? You can’t gang up with kids to beat me up?”

I scoffed. “Why would I do that? If a child like you wrongs me, I’d just send you to the juvie.” I said trying to tease her but she wasn’t finding it funny.

“You hit me, and then you talk as you want to me too?” I said lowering my face to hers, her gray eyes shining and shaky. She was nervous. I could see that in her eyes. In as much as she wanted to avoid my eyes, she was drawn to it.

So cute. How can she be so cute? I asked myself again resisting the urge not to stroke her cheek.

“Release her.” I ordered and the men let her go. And her legs wobbled almost falling to the floor but I was quick to save her in order to avoid that from happening.

And she was looking into my eyes with admiration written all over her face and eyes. And her cheeks were bloody red. Another cute side of her again.

“Estás bien? (Are you okay?) They must’ve scared you.” I said as I began to dust her dirty pant while she just stood, not saying a word.

I pitied her. I just dreaded the thought of what must’ve happened to her if I didn’t show up here. Then I was done dusting, facing her again.

“Are you really okay?” I asked again as her facial expressions wasn’t looking healthy at all. She was deathly pale. I don’t blame her. She was heavily shaken by those boys. I guess she might even have a nightmare tonight.

My eyes dropped on her cheeks, they were as rosy as ever.”Your cheeks are so red.” I said while she shifted away, her eyes on her cheeks looking like a cute five year old girl.

“Hey, Montero, take her home.” I ordered and Montero bowed, letting go off the teenage boy in his grasp and coming towards us.

My eyes went to her again. Her jacket was ripped. She was looking like a mess. I sighed. I pulled off my coat and stood infront of her.

Her gaze on my face. I could feel the intensity of her stares on my body. Maybe she have never been saved from this sort of mess before, she maybe considering me her savior by now. I tried hard not to smile as I wore her my coat.

I smiled with assurance to her.”This will keep you warm. Don’t worry, these boys won’t ever thr_@ten you again, I will make sure of that.” I patted her shoulder and beckoned to Montero to take her away.

I watched them leave, with her looking back at intervals until they were out of sight. Then I shifted my gaze to the boys. Their eyes met mine and I could sense that they were scared too. But I am never going to let them off that easily.

“Why her? Why beat a woman?”

“You call that girl a woman? She’s not a woman but a troublemaker!” One of them growled and my men nearly hit him for talking back at me if not that I signaled him to stop.

“How can you call her a troublemaker? I’m only letting all of you go because I’m not in a good mood to beat up little boys like you. Don’t ever bother her again. Did you hear me?”

They nodded and I told them to leave. They scrambled away, offering their thanks as they passed me.

I turned to my men when they were gone. “Let’s go home.” I said and we all matched forward, heading home. Part of me reaching out to her. Is she okay? Did she get home safely.

Immediately Montero came back to the mansion two hours later, I couldn’t help but ask. “Is she okay? Did she cry? She looked so scared and nervous.”

He nodded. “Yes. She’s fine. She said that she’s thankful and you shouldn’t have saved her. That she’s stronger than you think.”

I smirked. Stronger than I think? She must think highly of herself then. “It’s alright.” I said smiling as I retired to bed feeling like a fulfilled man.

The world might curse me for being a fool, for not being what anyone wanted me to be but at least, I saved a little girl’s life today.

CARMEN’S POV

For the past one month, that guy was in my head. I see him everywhere, beside me, when I lie on my bed, I feel him lying next to me. When I sleep, I see him in my dreams and when I think, I see him in my thoughts.

His yellow eyes peering into mine when I sat on top of him always made my heart race faster than normal.

How can such an angel save my life and disappear just like that? I wondered why. I tried to reach out to him through social medias. But it was frustrating because I never knew his name, his address or even his family.

“Still thinking about that man who saved your life last month?” My father asked, interrupting my thoughts, smirking at me as he looked up from his tablet.

I sighed. “Dad, do I really need to go to school. All I need to do is find my angel shining in yellow eyes, get married to him and have kids with him. I don’t even care if he’s poor. And I don’t even think he is because he had hefty men all surrounding him.”

My father sighed. He dropped his tablet and asked the Chauffeur to stop the car. “Why? Why are we stopping the car.”

“Because we’ve arrived to our destination.”

I was confused. He had been confusing me for the past three weeks. All the things he did and said all left a vague meaning. Never straight. He speaks in clauses and phrases.

And today, after picking me up from college, he had insisted on going somewhere with me. Where? He won’t tell me.

“Listen up, Carmen. We’re going to go into that mansion over there and you must behave yourself. Okay?”

“What?”

“You wanted to get married, right?”

I nodded getting excited. Maybe he’s finally granting my wish since I granted his by going to college. “Yes, dad. I want to get married.”

He smiled. “I found you a suitable man. A man who will take care of you.”

“Who?” I asked not entirely interested. Why find a man for me? If I’m not getting married to my prince charming, then he should forget it.

“Mr. Ricardo Alejandro.” He said expecting me to be excited but my mind was racing, I wanted to recall where I’ve heard that name before.

And bingo! I got it! The stupid CEO. “Dad! You mean the foolish CEO whom everyone fools?”

“Watch your mouth Carmen.”

“I’m not going to marry him.”

“What?”

“Hey Chauffeur! Move this car, coming here is a waste.”

“Carmen, I told you to behave yourself!”

I flinched. “I won’t! How can you expect me to marry that man? That man who don’t even know anything. Did he even go to school at all, if he did, which school? I mean, how can he be so dumb and useless and you want me to marry him! Dad!!!”

“Carmen, can you please shut up?”
