Daisy Warren let out a sigh as she put down the phone.
“Is that a rejection too?” Oprah, Daisy best friend and room mate ask.
“It is. They say they can’t hire me” Daisy said slipping into the sofa and at the same time, she began throwing up her leg in annoyance while Oprah threw a pillow at her to stop.
“Why is it so hard to get a job? If I want to go back to college then have got to start working for it but I haven’t found any” Daisy whine.
“If you had the goal of finishing school in mind why on earth did you quit from the king’s residence” Oprah ask.
“It’s a long story” Daisy replied remembering the hot stew she had pour on Gianna, the girlfriend of Oliver King.
“You keep saying that anytime I ask. Didn’t you think about poor Monica who needed you?” Oprah ask again and Daisy thought drifted towards Monica.
She had just been eleven when Daisy began working in the king house as her nanny, that was five years ago.
The king parents had just died leaving the poor little girl with an older brother who never had her time. Although it had been awkward between them at first, Daisy soon grow to love Monica and leaving her was the only thing she regret, Daisy thought.
” Monica is now sixteen and not eleven, she can take care of herself and besides the kid is very strong” Daisy said.
Oprah was about saying more when they heard the door bell ring.
Daisy went to open it only to see a crying Monica there.
“What’s wrong love?” Daisy ask.
“Am sorry for coming here unannounced but I really need you” Monica said before hugging Daisy.

A while later, Daisy sat on the sofa while she pat Monica whose head was on her chest.
“Feeling better now?” Daisy ask and she nodded.
“Am sorry for coming to see you like this but I needed your hug” Monica muttered like a baby.
“You don’t have to apologise, am really happy to see you here. You were quite angry with me when I quit working as your nanny” Daisy said.
“That was selfish of me, I should have known that my unbearable brother would have done something to get you angry ” Monica said and Daisy nodded slowly.
Oliver King had indeed said some harsh words to her which got her quitting her job and leaving poor Monica on her own.
“How is he?” Daisy found herself asking.
“You know, he’s the same. Bitter, rude and always angry and it’s all thanks to that Gianna” Monica said.
“He isn’t upset about being blind but he is about a girl who dump him?” Daisy ask and Monica nodded.
“A fool right? He should focus on getting himself treated but instead he waste his precious time hiring detectives to find Gianna” Monica said again.
” He’s a total fool” Daisy echo Monica insult too.
Daisy had only met Gianna whenever Oliver brought her home for dinner and the two never like each other from the beginning.
Daisy always wonder what Oliver was doing with a woman who was so vague and shallow but it turns out that the arrogant devil had fallen deeply for her.
“What’s that?” Monica ask picking up a book.
“Well it’s the list of places where I submitted my CV, am actually looking for a job” Daisy admitted.
“Then come work for us again, I don’t mind having you as my nanny again, I really miss your company” Monica said but Daisy took hold of the girl hand, holding onto it.
“I can’t! The last thing I told your brother was that I will never set foot in his house again, I can’t possibly go against my word” Daisy replied.
“Okay but I do hope that you will reconsider” Monica said having a sad look on her face.
“You should try to cheer up love, don’t let those betrayer get to you” Daisy said referring to Monica boyfriend and best friend.
“I never thought they could do that to me, I trusted them both but they broke my heart” Monica said as tears slid down her cheek.
Daisy wipe it off before hugging her frail body again.
“Forget about them, they aren’t worth your tears. Cry all you want today but as soon as it’s tomorrow, let it go and move on. Show those two that you don’t need them in your life ” Daisy whisper into her ear before letting the girl go.
“I will, Daisy” Monica replied switching on her phone to see missed calls from Micheal and Stella but the one which got her attention most was that of Oliver.
“I need to go home, Oliver needs my help” Monica replied getting up.
“What do you mean? Aren’t there maids to help?” Daisy ask.
“His insults has driven them away. Am the only one who he can rely on for now” Monica explained.
The taxi arrive and Daisy followed Monica to it.
“Take care of yourself and always remember to have your inhaler with you” Daisy reminded which got Monica smiling.
“I always have it with me, I don’t have a choice since am asthmatic ” Monica gave a reply.
With one last hug, Monica got into the taxi which took her home.

“Have a wonderful time with your ex employer?” Oprah who had left the two to talk ask as soon as Daisy walk in.
“The poor thing caught her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend” Daisy replied before seating on the couch.
“Poor thing. It must be painful” Oprah commented.
“That’s why you should be with her, Monica needs you, don’t you want to work for them again?” Oprah ask.
“I don’t! Have you forgotten that I told you that Oliver King is a jerk! Working for him for five years have made me look older. He has no respect for the people who work for him, he treats them all like dirt, I suffered that treatment too, I suck it all because of Monica but now that she’s older and can take care of herself, I can be rest assured” Daisy said having a big frown on her face.
“Fine then. I won’t talk about it again” Oprah answered.

Daisy was in her room a while later checking her account balance when she got a call from Monica.
“What’s it love?” Daisy ask as soon as she pick the call.
“I need your help” Monica soft voice drifted down the line.
“Tell me” Daisy urge.
“Can you….. Can you….this is a bit hard to say” Monica said.
“Just say it” Daisy said.
“Can you pretend to be Gianna?”
“What did you just say?”
