ROGER’S RESIDENCE***
Layla came out of her room and ascended the staircase. It’s the weekend so she didn’t go to school.
She got to the parlor and she met her Mom sitting on the floor with different bottles littering on the ground. The sight didn’t surprise her at all.
That was how her mother had been since her Dad died three years ago. She suddenly became a drunker and she blames her every time for her Dad’s death.
“Are you seriously going to be acting this way?” She asked.
Mrs. Rogers stared at her drunkenly.
“Who are you?” She asked.
“Are you the cleaner?” She asked again.
Tears filled Layla’s eyes watching her mother this way.
“Mom!” She screamed.
“Oh…. You’re that bastard that ki||ed my husband” Mrs. Rogers laughed drunkenly.
She got to her feet and staggered to Layla. She pushed her to the floor roughly and grabbed her cloth.
“Bring my husband back, you bastard! Bring my husband back!” She screamed.
“Mom,” Layla whispered in tears.
Mrs. Rogers slapped her.
“Don’t call me that! Don’t you ever call me that!” She shouted.
She crawled to where the alcohol was and drank it from the bottle.
“Stay away from me or else I’m going to ki|| you” Mrs. Roger warned.
She stood up and mistakenly kicked a bottle, the bottle fell and broke into pieces.
She ignored what happened and staggered to her room.
Layla wiped her tears with her hand and walked to where the bottles are. She began packing the broken pieces.
“Ahhh!!” A small scream left her lips when a piece pierced her hand.
She sat on the floor as tears cascaded down her cheeks. This was her life ever since her Dad left the world.
Sometimes her Mom always beat her up, blaming her for her husband’s death.
This was one of the reasons why she became Wyatt’s girlfriend. To have someone who loves and makes her forget her pains.
But things were only getting worse for her.
“I h@ťě my life!” She whimpered.

ITALY~ A RESORT***
“Here’s your room, sir,” an attendant said to Alberto and Stephanie.
They entered the room and their luggages was packed to the side.
“Enjoy your stay” the attendant said before exiting the room.
Alberto checked his wristwatch.
“This is just 4pm, just a few hours left” he muttered.
“What do you intend to do now?” Stephanie asked.
“What do you mean? I’m f-__-king getting my company back to its place and Charles should be ready for me. I ain’t gonna leave him alone” Alberto said.
“You don’t have to stress yourself over him, I trust you’re gonna do better” she said and hugged him from the back.
“I know”
“Baby, I need some money. I need the clothes I’m gonna wear tonight online. I wanna look extraordinary for you” she smiled.
“Sure, I’ll send some money to you”
“Thank you baby. I love you” she muttered.
This was the reason why she’s with him, to exhaust his money and then move to another man.

“Tell Hailey to come over,” Mr. Monterio said.
Hailey stared at Charles in shock.
“What do we do?” She whispered.
“Seriously Dad? You really think I’m gonna leave Hailey behind??” Charles scoffed.
“You took her along with you?” Mr. Monterio asked in surprise.
“Of course. I’m attending a gala tonight and I need to bring my woman along. Were you expecting me to bring another woman along?”
“Oh, I didn’t know about that. Make sure she visits once she’s back again, okay?”
“Fine” Charles muttered and the call got disconnected.
He faced Hailey.
“I did good, right?” He smiled.
Hailey rolled her eyes.
“You mentioned attending a gala tonight, is that true?” She asked.
He nodded.
“Yes. And you’ll be my woman,,, for tonight” he muttered.
“That’s a joke, right?” Hailey laughed shortly.
“Does that sound like a joke to you?”
“You didn’t even tell me about this before”
“Because I know you were going to reject it, I had no choice,” he said.
Hailey sighs. He was right, she would have rejected it without a rethink.
“So, you’ll be my woman for tonight”
“I wasn’t prepared for this so I did not bring a suitable dress along” she muttered.
“Don’t worry, I got you covered. If you’re nervous, just stay by my side throughout, okay?”
She nodded.
He glanced at her clothes.
“Put on your clothes before you catch the flu,” he said.
“Or, should I put it on for you?” He asked naughtily.
“Get lost,” Hailey laughed softly.
Charles held her hands on the bed.
“I love this side of you better, please keep being this way…. For me. You can break other men’s head but not mine” he said
Hailey laughed.
“I have something to tell you tonight Hailey. When we’re back from the Gala, I have to tell you something” Charles said.
Hailey stared at him wondering what he wanted to tell her for his expression to change so drastically.
“I’ll send someone over to you. You can get dressed, I’ll be outside” Charles said.
He went out of the room and Hailey suddenly grew bored.
She was already getting used to his presence, there’s no doubt about that.

FEW HOURS LATER***
Hailey tossed over the bed for the umpteenth time. Charles was not yet back and she was almost dying of boredom.
“Did he really have to take this long?” She wondered.
She took her phone and got down from the bed.
She made her way outside the room and she found two of Charles’s bodyguards guarding the door.
“Miss, Boss said you shouldn’t go anywhere,” one of them said.
Hailey frowned. Are they kidding her right now?
“Charles did?”
They nodded.
“Well, he can’t tell me that. I need to take a stroll, I’m so bored right now” she said.
“But…”
“You can come along if you want but I’m never going inside” Hailey said and walked away.
They guys stared at themselves before going after her.
“Where the hell is he?” Hailey wondered as she took a look around the hotel.
She sighted him just when she got to the reception. He was on a call.
She was about to walk closer to him when she saw a girl with him. She didn’t even noticed her earlier
“Who the hell is she?” Hailey frowned.
She saw Charles placing his phone in his pocket before facing the lady.
“So, he left me for her?” She scoffed.
Her eyes widened when she saw them hugging each other.
The lady pecked his cheek and that was it. She lost her cool.
She marched towards them in anger.
She pushed the lady away from Charles roughly before landing a slap on her face.
“Stay away from my man!” She shot, giving the lady an angry look.
“Your…. Your man?” The lady stuttered, staring at Charles.
“Yes, so f-__-k off!” Hailey glared.
Charles stood there, watching the scene unfolding with an amusing smile on his lips.
“And you! How could you hug another woman? You left me in the room just to meet another woman outside! Was that the reason why you asked your guards to make sure I don’t leave the room?! Is that the kind of person you are?!” She shouted angrily at Charles.
“That’s because this woman is my cousin,” Charles said.
Hailey’s face fell.
“Wh..wh.. what?”
“She’s my cousin, Hailey,” he repeated.
Hailey stared at Charles before looking at the lady she just slapped.
“Oh ground… Just open up and swallow me” her mind screamed.
She has never felt embarrassed like this.
Worst still, Charles was staring at her with an annoying smirk on his lips.
