CHAPTER 06 — OPENING UP.

The next day, Lucille had walked into the office and already met Dominique waiting for her dressed in a black suite only his jacket hanged on the armrest and his sleeves rolled up.
Lucille had to admit they had not met with any progress during yesterday’s session but today she is going to try a different approach, one she swore she’d never use. Gone was the professional look she had on yesterday, today she was dressed in blue jeans and an oversized grey sweater with black palms and her hair up in a messy bun – a very causal look.
“Good morning Dominique.” She greets, he raises his head in surprise – surprised that she is looking very causal today and she had just greeted him like yesterday’s session never happened.
“Morning,” he clears his throat nervously.
She smiles, “welcome to our second session Dominique, during our first session, I noticed that the talking about what happened in your past is very difficult.” Her tone compassionate and understanding.
“But,” her eyes gentle as she kneels between him “I want you to look at me- not as Miss Lucille but as your best friend who you can tell anything too Dominique, I’ll never judge you.”
Dominique is stunned for moment, at first he was just going to tell her little bits of what happened but now knowing that she’d never judge him – it’s as if a big weight had been lifted off his head.
“I tried to committ suicide.” He admitted, her eyes widen in shock. Sighing he continuedthat’d everything for Claire, worked hard to succeed, made sure I distanced myself from other women and even destroyed our friendship. Yet, she still embezzled my money and gave out my companions ideas to my rival – Ethan, you she was having an affair with.”
“W-what?” Lucille is shocked to the core, Dominique loved Claire with everything he had and she–
“My family that had labored to see me through school almost went bankrupt and hungry. I felt so useless!” His tone rising in anger “I’d everything for her and she betrayed me in the worst way possible. I felt so broken and alone and I thought of the easy way out, if Mama hadn’t been there on time I don’t know–” Dominique was tongue tied, he knew he’d never forgo himself for trying to leave his family when they needed him most and now that’s why he puts so much effort into his work- to block out the bad thoughts.
They fell into a comfortable silence. “Look at me Dominique” he looked, his eyes red.
“I know it hurts. Loving someone with all your heart and having them betray you like that is terrible but you can’t let that define you Dominique. Now let me correct what you said: you said that Claire is the reason you worked hard but she isn’t. I knew you Dominique before Claire did and you were just as determined to make a name for yourself and family before you met her.” She held his chin and looked into his eyes showing she meant every word she said.
“Dominique Monet, multi billionaire. You didn’t get that name because of Claire no, you did it all by yourself. Claire made you harder because you wanted to prove her and Ethan wrong and you’d and you are far better than them…..” He smiles for the first time.
“Always learn to look at the bright side of things….” She pats him on the back and gets up.
“Am proud of you Dom, it’s takes gut to admit what you’d and that too on the second day.” She giggles lightly.
“Yeah….” He rubs his back nervously.
“I’ll see you tomorrow Dom….” She strides to the door when he calls her back.
“Wait!” She turns to him, “I’ll walk you out.” He offers and she nods.
Soon they were outside enjoying the cool breeze as they strolled through the town. “So how have you been?” Dominique broke the silence.
“Good. Graduated successful and got my P.H.D in therapy.” She replies, stealing glances at him.
“I thought you wanted to be a doctor?” Dominique asks confused.
“Oh my God! Dom…” She hit his chest lightly “that was Mark, remember”
“Shít your right! I completely forget. Oh God, he wanted to be gynecologist…” They laughed.
“Yeah… Because he thought it was just another word for a segz doctor only to find out that it is a doctor that treats women private area–”
“The idiot had to start another course all over again” Lucille finished as she and Dominique laughed hysterically.
“How are they?” She asks wiping the tears from her eyes.
“They are good, still the same Playboy’s…”
She nodded. “Listen… Am really sorry about what happened between us Lucille and I hope you’ll forgive me” he pleaded.
Lucille shook her head smiling, “I’ll think about it Dominique!” She said and caught a cab home leaving Dominique standing at the side smiling like an idiot.

Daniel sat on his seat, legs crossed on top of the table as he puffs out smoke. His blonde hair rough and his eyes bloodshot.
Most wanted criminal mob boss. Daniel is feared far and wide but that was the least of his problems now. The police are under his control and so there is no way he’ll get caught.
He needed to find her! That was the first reason he has everything, to find her. Sometimes, he actually believes she is dead, hell even Damien believes it but he couldn’t give up no not yet…. He knows, he has this feeling that somewhere around she is still alive and he’ll find her no matter what it takes.
But for now, he actually enjoys his revenge. He broke them. Just like he vowed eighteen years ago as he stood in that rain and watch them happily twirling their new born baby up in the air while he starved mercilessly on the streets.
He uncrossed his legs and turned towards the picture of a blonde hair with blue eyes standing in a garden smiling. He traces the picture “I did it Mama. I broke them for you, for us and I promise I’ll find Lucille.” He vowed.
