CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE: THE ROYAL BALL 2 ( THANATOS ANGER )
Chloe once again looked at the dress for the fifth time “This is ridiculous”moving my gaze to meet Freya, I just didn’t know what reasons Thanatos had for bringing her along “Even if lord Thanatos gave you his words, why on earth are you in my chamber ”
She remains seated on my bed ” I told you, I need a change of environment”
” But why my chamber?” She shrugs at my question and I roll my eyes, deciding to leave the room for her, I might feel bad for her but that doesn’t change the whole fact that I h@ťě her, the ball will be held tonight, I should properly think of how to behave, I don’t want to catch the prince’s eyes but it will be nice if I do.
The prince and I are basically half brothers, that will be cringe if he suddenly choose me to be his bride, before I know where am headed, my legs already took me to lord Thanatos quarters, moving close I stare at Asmodeus and Thanatos standing right outside his quarter, in a back corner.
” your mother will be here ” Asmodeus mumble, they both look calm.
” You still made the letter?” Thanatos reply has a hint of anger in them ” I told you, she will only cause trouble, what if she tried to hurt my Chloe ”
” Your mother will help resolve all these issues,if it means Chloe dying then so be it ” I step back at Asmodeus harsh words ” she will only bring trouble to you and I do not want that, I won’t stand for all that ”
” Asmodeus” Thanatos voice remain calm ” if by any means something happens to Chloe, I will ki|| both you and Freya ” his face stain with smile, scarry one ” understood”
” I refuse ” Asmodeus stood his ground” if we are in a honest battle, you don’t think you can easily ki|| me Thanatos, am just looking out for you….. Like a friend should”
“I didn’t ask for it, no body touches Chloe but me, only I gave the permission to ki|| her and I will keep her alive untill I wish to ” I blink at his words, in a way Thanatos is trying to protect me but I still feel horrible, why are this people treating my life like some kind of toy?
” Sometimes is better to let go of things that will cause you harm” Asmodeus look at Thanatos” you and I know why hades send Chloe ”
” You should also know why the curse keep……” Thanatos stopped talking when his gaze meet mine, I excepted to see surprise or worry as the only Expression but neither of them, his face remain void of all those expression ” Chloe ” his voice calm… Asmodeus turn and look at me, surprise on his face.
Asmodeus clear his throat ” we will continue this later ” and just like that, he walk pass me, leaving the corner, just me and Thanatos remain standing, after few minutes he avert his gaze.
” What is it that brings you here?” His questions short
” I wanted seeing you ”
“Then I suppose you can leave now ”
” I also wanted asking if you really invited Freya to the ball ” he nod his head ” will she be with us on same carriage ”
” No ”
” You will ride with me right?”
” Haven’t thought that far ” he look at me ” the ball is still eight hours away, I will think of who I wish to ride with, you should go ”
” Lord Thanatos” I mumble, didn’t bother moving close ” I hope you tell me all what I need to know soon, it’s my life anyway ”
” That would be preposterous” he smile ” you thinking you own your life is” those words made me realize what he meant, he simply keeping me alive just to entertain him, once am of no more use, he will discard me.
Several thoughts move in my head while the maids apply my makeup ” all ready milady ” hearing that, I stood up and stare at my reflection, the maids leave the room and my eyes lower to the red dress, red has always been my favorite colour, my hair loses down and slightly decorated with beautiful flowers. Before I could turn around and leave my chamber, a bird fly straight to my window and stop, I look at the legs only to find a note.
Someone is trying to send a message? Moving closer, I lose it from it’s leg before opening it to read
( What a pleasant Evening milady, I assure you that this message had nothing to do with thou death, this is clifor…. Apologies on my rapid disappearance the other day, am sure the sin of lust is already urging on your death and all these must put your mind at worry, you still have no idea how powerful thou is……. Forest of knowledge? Is the first time am hearing of such a place, how do I even find it? ” Milady, your carriage is ready ” hearing Trevor voice, I throw the paper to the trash bin before rushing out of my room and towards the exit, approaching the carriage, I smile at the fact that Thanatos is seated inside
” Chloe ” he seemed shocked to the fact that he called my name ” you look beautiful”my cheek heat up at that compliment
“Thank you ” getting into the carriage, the journey to the palace begin, for some reason they happen to be tension in the carriage, I have to say something to break it but why am I suddenly feeling nervous, this is not me.
” Chloe ”
” Yes” my answer came out fast and somewhat nerve cracking, he look at me with the furrow brows
” Are you sure you’re fine ” he move closer, his hands on my forehead ” your temperature is okay, how about your heart?” His hands quickly lower to my chest ” are you fine here?” Our eyes remain on each other ” your heart is really beating fast, are you okay ” is his fault, I can’t seem to stop getting nervous and his hands is not helping issues, the fact that I wore a handles long dress means my cleavage is showing and the funny part is the way he dip his hands in my dress, touching my bare Břě@Å¡Å¥ without realizing.
” Milord ” I smile ” am fine but….” He follow my eyes down to where his hands is, then his eyes move back to my face, I watch how his cheek gets flushed just a little bit
” Pardon me Chloe ” he clear his throat but no sign of him retreating his hands ” I really want to step back right now but my hands, it won’t bulge” he squeeze it just a little bit and I bite my lower lip, this segzual tension has been between us ever since yesterday incident, the fact he almost lost it to me, is literally giving me all the hope I need right now ” Chloe ” he lean close, take off his hands and touch my lips ” why do you look so seductive this night?” He frown ” are you planning on seducing those lewd men in the ball?”
” Of course not ” I reply ” I wore this for you ” licking my lips, I mumble ” I wanted you to feel the urge to touch me ”
” This is all new to me, how can I not think of any other thing but making sweet segz to you? It’s all that I have been thinking of ” I could feel his breath on my face, one more push and we will be kissing ” what did you do to me?” Giving him a quick kiss on the lips, I withdraw and smile
” Maybe am truly your downfall ”
” We have arrived !!!”
Thanatos step back at that, his eyes still filled with desire ” you might be right, get off ” ignoring his now harsh tone, I get off the carriage abd stare at the huge ball room, different nobles with their date keep stepping in….. Thanatos get off his carriage and Freya quickly join us, of course….we are both his wives.
Stepping into the ball room, I smile at all the designs, the huge lights, the classy music, the drinks and of course the people” lord Thanatos” an elderly man approaches, wine of glass on his hand and a slightly big tummy ” I see you brought your wife, you have eyes for beautiful ones ” the man look at Freya and just like that I was pushed aside
” Indeed ”
” You’re the princess of this kingdom right?” Freya smiles and nod at that ” a pleasure to meet you ” they shake hands and I look at Thanatos who doesn’t seem to care if people acknowledge that am also his wife, I do care and it hurts that no body knows that.
Everybody keep greeting Freya while no body look at me,moving to the side, I pick up a glass of wine ” you seem quiet bored ” turning to my left, I stare at the young man ” did you come here alone?”
” No” my reply short, proving I wish not to engage in a conversation with him, I did thought that no body recognize me until someone gasped behind me.
” Isn’t that the murderer princess?”
” You mean the shameless one?”
” She also did get married to lord Thanatos, as a second wife ”
” Am sure she throw herself at him, must be why he is literally not interested in her ” the rumors have always been harsh on me, is not like I care what people think about me, it’s their choice and nothing might change that.
if I don’t stay close to Thanatos, I just might call demons to this place, people might die….. I look around, trying to find Thanatos.
The people here are obviously too much, moving closer to the crowd, I stop at the ungodly sight of Thanatos, his lips sealed with that of Freya, I step back and his eyes meet with mine, he didn’t bother to push her back, just stared at me, from his eyes, he looks surprised…. Freya withdraw and his gaze move to meet with hers.
I knew Thanatos h@ťěd kisses without permission, what I didn’t expect for him to do in public was to slap Freya across the face, everyone in the ball room stopped moving, I stare at him, his rage still kicking in but before he could do anything more, I rush over, grab his hand and pull him into the dark corner
” What do you think you’re…..” I stopped talking when he pinned me to the wall and kiss me.
