CHAPTER ELEVEN : THE THIRD DAY 2 ( CHLOE’S DILEMMA 1)
Thanatos stopped in the dining room, king Gerald already seated there ” you are Early for breakfast” he smile ” hope you are not bothered with the rumor”
” Rumor?” I sit down and look at him” did you know she will end up that way? Is that why you wanted me to take her away?” Frowning he quickly shake his head.
“If I knew something about this, I would have told her about shamans to lower wh@ťěver curse has hold on her “he look at me ” I have no joy in this matter, Freya is the beauty of my kingdom, she is also my daughter ”
” Hmmm” folding my hands, I look at him ” you misinterpreted my words, I simply asked if you wanted to prevent this ”
” How will I wish to prevent something I know not of?”
” Don’t you think it is wrong to talk to a king in such manners?” Hearing that voice, I turn around and look at xilber approaching, he pull out a chair and sit down, looking quiet happy, did Chloe agree to wh@ťěver they were discussing?
” King xilber ” Gerald smile ” it’s nice to have you over here ”
” I heard about Freya wedding so I decided to come for your second daughter ”
Gerald frown ” my second daughter?”
” Yes ” he nod” I will wish to have Chloe to myself ” watching both of them mumble, I gently eat, in this situation, if I was really in need of Chloe, I know I would have fought and speak words about having her to myself but right now, I choose not to indulge in such act.
No matter what I do, the choice is all hers, she could choose xilber, the man she fancy or she could come with me, someone who she heart not and of course I feel nothing towards her.
” I have no plans of wedding Freya ” I mumble, gaining both of their attention ” I will rather leave the palace with some other gift, other than marriage”
” Lord Thanatos” king Gerald look at me, surprise by my words ” I assure you that the shamans will work this out ” I smile at his words, no shaman can bring back her youth, no one but me and right now, I don’t feel like doing her a favor.
As of this moment, I already returned her memory back to her, it will last for just today, just today, I want her to know the reason for her pain and then tomorrow, she will go back to having no clue why she is closer to her death bed.
” I have no interest in her ” standing up, I look at xilber ” if it was someone else I might reconsider ”
” Someone else?” Xilber furrow his brows ” are you thinking about my chloe ”
” Not everyone wants someone that cause death around her” my gaze move back, king Gerald, bow my head slightly and turn around ” and she certainly, is not yours ” before I could fully leave the dining hall, xilber words stop me.
” Is this all because of the one night you spent with her?” He move towards my direction ” that means nothing and do you know why? I was there first ” I look at this man, the one who dared to speak back at me without falling in fear, the bright light that surrounds him made me furrow my brows.
Of course, they are mortals which god’s love, ones they call their favorite, he must be one of them, covered by their grace huh ” what make you think that I cared about that night?”
” It just seem as though you are hung up on her ”
” I have nothing to do with Chloe, she is the one who is glue to me ” I step close ” you being her first means nothing, you could be her first and still be bad in bed ”
” What do you mean?” He clench his hands and I chose not to talk anymore, walking out of the dining room, I didn’t have to think about where Chloe will be, I know for a fact that she would be in my chamber.
How do I know that?
Even if xilber wants her, she won’t go with him, she won’t want to cause death for the man she loves, that’s how I know that she would still come running to me. Am her safest bet.
Opening the door to my chamber, I frown, I frown at the sight of Chloe and Freya fighting, what amazes me is the fact that Freya still have the strength to move, I lean on the door and watch them ….Chloe is using the opportunity to beat up weak Freya.
” This is all your fault!!!!” Freya yell
” Go to hell, they is no way Thanatos will do this to you!!!!” Chloe yell ” he is an angel not a devil ” I tilt my head to my left and smile at the sight of her supporting me but little do she know that am neither of them. Am someone even far greater.
” Two ladies fighting over me?” I mumble and they both turn to my direction, breathing heavily ” to the extent of ruining my room ”
‘ Lord Thanatos” Chloe gasp but Freya on the other hand, she move closer to my direction, rather slow…I watch the hatred in her eyes.
” Turn me back ” her old hand hold mine, I flinch in disgust, pulling my hands back ” give me back my youth ”
Furrowing my brows, I $h00t her a confuse look ” what are you talking about?” I smile ” one will think you have gone mad, not only old but mad ”
” What did I ever do to you?” She cry.
” You were beautiful ” looking at her, I walk into the room, giving her space to leave my chamber ” leave ” she has more to say but the look in my eyes, I knew she notice it, shutting the door at her dismissal, my gaze travel round my scattered room.
I look at Chloe who is confused ” why did she accuse you?” She move closer ” did you really do that to her?”
” Why will I make someone that beautiful old ” I frown ” she did nothing to me ”
” Of course, I knew you won’t do that ” I frown at how happy she seem, happy that I didn’t hurt someone for no reason.
” Why are you here Chloe ” I mumble, trying to distract myself from the fact that I just lied ” aren’t you supposed to be with lord xilber”
” I thought you would be mad “. She pout her lips
” Why would I?” Moving closer, I look down at her ” it’s not like am forcing you to be with me, it’s the other way round ”
” Men really know how to ruin a woman confidence” she frown ” can’t you just say you want me all to yourself? That I belong to you? Am your woman? That you won’t let me go?” She move closer and I rise my right brow.
” What kind of novels do you read?” I reply ” why will I really say that about you?”
” Am your woman ” she mumble ” right?” Looking at her, I know for a fact that she is trying to think, think about who she should go to, hoping she won’t make a mistake.
” Chloe ” I mumble ” you don’t have to marry me, go to xilber, he is capable of protecting you ” she look at me, with an odd expression, one I have no idea what it means ” you don’t need to come with me, I will feel better without you ”
” I can’t ” she smile ” am sorry but I will stick with you”
” Why?”
” Because with you, everyone will be safe, you are the safer bet, and if you are to die, I won’t feel hurt because I don’t love you ” I stood still, listening to her ” am I being horrible to you?”
” No ” I move closer ” it is quiet normal for human to be greedy and selfish ” I pat her head ” you are a perfect example of one ”
This after all is a marriage of convenience.
” First thing tomorrow morning ” I look down at her ” you will marry me ”
