” Arghh!!” Nike screamed out of fear, closing his eyes tightly. He couldn’t watch what was gonna happen. Alex made to stop the demon but Bobby was faster.
He pushed Chloe away and stood in her place but it got his arm.
” Why did you do that?” Chloe shouted in tears when she noticed his arm.
The possessed guy twisted the knife in Bobby’s arm and he winced.
” Justice..” He managed to say and the demon disappeared from there. He moved to where Alex had dropped the bandage they wanted to use on Thierry.
He sat on the floor and took the ointment and applied it on his arm before wrapping it up with the bandage. He stood up afterwards and looked at the others.
” Are we just gonna give up like this?” He asked but there was silence.
He looked at Chloe whose eyes were swollen.
” You blame yourself for their death and now, you’re thinking of dying too? Did you forget? You made a promise to your sister to stop this game but now, you’re thinking of dying too?? Is a promise a joke to you? You think she’ll be happy seeing y’all in the afterlife huh??” He ruffled his hair.
“You called me dûmb but all I see right now, are three dumb students” He added.
“What do you expect us to do?”Nike raised his head to look at Bobby.
” Look for the source and destroy it.” He replied.
“But I have no idea what the source is” Nike sighed sadly.
““ A game with the Devil” I think that book is responsible for everything happening right now. If we destroy that book, I’m sure we’ll be able to stop this monsters”
“A book?? Where? ”
” The library ” Alex replied.
Chloe kept sniffing as she stared at the boys who took turns to talk.
” Then we should get the damned book” Nike stood up. Alex did same but Bobby exhaled and sat down.
” Is something wrong?” Nike asked.
” You think it’ll be easy to destroy such books? It’s like giving out ourselves out to be ki||ed and that’s why he….” Chloe trailed off and pointed at Bobby.
” That’s why he’s having second thoughts” She added.
“What do you mean?” Alex asked.
” The thing is, we might not survive it cos we’re talking about the Devil here. Destroying the book won’t be an easy task cos it’s the Devil’s book” Bobby said.
“So in one word, none of us might survive it?” Nike asked and Chloe nodded as she stood up.
” What do you say Bobby? I see you aren’t all that dumb” She said.
“I’m in.. I don’t mind sacrificing myself to save those still alive” He smiled, stretching a hand forward while Chloe raised a brow.
” I’m in too..” Alex said, placing his hand on Bobby’s.
” I don’t wanna be among but I have no choice.. I must destroy the book which took my friends’ lives brutally, So I’m in” Nike added his hand too.
The three boys diverted their gaze to Chloe who was staring at them.
” Aren’t you joining us?” Nike asked and She inhaled before walking to them.
” Since we all want to end this, then I’m in..” She said, placing her hand on Nike’s.
” So now, it’s a do or die thing” Bobby said and the others nodded in agreement.
” So….
“Do or dié..” They all chorused, raising up their hands.
” Let’s get this done” Chloe said and they nodded.
They stared at the bodies of Kurr, Elodie and Thierry.
” I’ll make sure I stop all this even if I have to dié” Chloe smiled hurtfully, leaving the classroom with the others.
They were heading to the library, not minding what fate had in stuck for them, not minding what awaits them.
The zeal to end the game grew even more stronger as they walked down the hallway with straight faces.
The wind blew Chloe’s hair backwards as they stood side by side each other. She was in the middle of Bobby and Alex.
They suddenly stopped when three demons stood in front of them at once.
” Why are they three?”Nike asked, staring at the demons. A girl in between two boys. Their uniform had blood and the girl had a knife stuck in her throat. The guy at her left side had part off his face removed like it was eaten up by a zombie and the last guy had a knife in his skull.
” Havana would’ve vomited her intestines if she had seen this ” Chloe chuckled softly as Havana’s face filled her head.
” Get it right or get ki||ed” The three possessed students chorused at once and Nike exchanged glances with Alex.
” Why are the three of them saying it at once?” Alex wondered.
” I think this is the last stage.. I think there’s no more survivors.. I’m sure as we keep moving, their numbers would increase and I’m sure we’ll encounter our doom as we go” Bobby said and their eyes widened when the Demons said different riddles at a time.

They stopped at the same time and began to laugh.
Chloe blinked rapidly. Bobby and Nike had their mouths opened.
” How do they expect us to register those three riddles at once in our head? Why would they say them at the same time and now I’m confused” Nike muttered, then the clock start thinking.
Ten… Nine… Eight…
The had just ten seconds to get the three riddles right.
Chloe swallowed hard and shut her eyes firmly, trying to remember all the riddles but just the last riddle was vivid in her head.
” SCARF.. ” She said.
” ALPHABET” Alex replied to to first riddle.
“Then what was the second riddle? What’s the answer??” Chloe muttered and stared at Bobby who was trying to remember it too.
” Looks like water…” Bobby trailed off, trying to remember as the count down got to four.
Three.. two…
“ LOOKS LIKE WATER, BUT IT’S HEAT.

The possessed Students laughed as they all raised their blades while Chloe and the others took few steps backwards.
They got to them in the attempt of burying their knives in their bodies but Nike pushed his friends away and used himself as a shield.
The three knives went into him from the back and he vomited blood at once.
” Nike ” Chloe trembled, tears gathering in her eyes as she looked at him.
” What’s the answer?” He muttered and she quivered greatly trying to get the answer. She didn’t want what happened with Mitchell to repeat again. How her head went blank immediately Mitchell was stabbed.
” MIRAGE… IT’S MIRAGE” She screamed at the top of her voice, tears leaving her eyes uncontrollably.
The possessed beings laughed boisterously, removing their knives from Nike’s body before vanishing.
” Nike!” Alex called.
” I’m glad I took the blade, I was useless anyway” He smiled as his eyes went shut.
He fell to the ground and went rigid.
