“Or what if I decide to do….more?” Kingsley said.
Lucia’s throat immediately ran dry.
“H… Huh?”
“You heard me right” Kingsley said and her eyes widened. She blinked as she stared at him like she was running her mouth and throwing tantrums minutes ago
Kingsley gazed into her eyes. She looked stunned, surprise and he could see a hint of fear she was trying to mask.
Kingsley smirked at her before taking steps back and Lucia released the breath she didn’t know she was holding
“Wanted to see your reaction, didn’t know you will take it that serious. You honestly thought I’ll stoop that low? Like I said I’m single, not desperate” Kingsley smirked.
“Stupid jerk” Lucia glared at Kingsley like she wasn’t literally trembling a minute ago.
“Careful the way you run your mouth. I can still contemplate on adding 3 extra hours to to your time table” Kingsley said, heading to the exit.
Lucia’s gaze followed him warily, ready to run incase he tries back what he just did.
He stopped by the door and turned to her. His gaze went back to her chest as he smirked.
Lucia’s face reddened as she covered her chest with her arms.
“Pervert!!”

<NEXT DAY••THE WHITE HOUSE>
Kingsley’s car drove in the luxurious area and he parked his car. A guard immediately walked to his car and opened the door before he could do so.
“Good morning Sir” The guard greeted politely as Kingsley stepped down the car.
With a nod, Kingsley walked in the building. His father called him over saying it was urgent and he won’t take no for an answer so he had no choice than to come.
“Good morning Sir, Mr President is waiting for you at the dining room” The maid said and Kingsley left.
He got into the dining room and his mood got worse when he saw his father with Daphne but that wasn’t his concern. His gaze was focused on Maggie and her mother, Jade.
He already knew what they came here for and just the thought of that ruined his mood even more.
“Son! Come and join us for breakfast” Thomas said and Kingsley walked in silently.
“Good morning” He mumbled before taking his seat.
Maggie smiled at him but he didn’t return the smile and that made her sad.
“It’s been long we’ve had dinner like this, like a big family” Thomas said and Jade smiled, nodding her head.
“It’s so sad my old pal left us too early” Thomas said sadly, referring to Maggie’s dad.
Maggie’s dad died 3 years ago.
The maid walked in and served them food and they began eating. Kingsley ate slowly with a cold look on his face. Daphne couldn’t help but glance at him everyone once and then.
“He’s really hot with that look on his face” She thought and bit her lips.
“Just look at you two, already grown up. Time really flies, I can’t wait for few more years to pass so we can ring the wedding bells” Thomas said and Maggie blushed.
Kingsley stopped eating as he tightened his hold on the cutleries.
“They’ve been betrothed since they were young, just few more years and we can witness these two love blossom” Jade smiled.
Thomas smiled back and looked at Kingsley. “By the way son, what’s this thing I head from Maggie. You risked your academics for a girl” Thomas said.
“And how is that your business?” Kingsley said when he couldn’t stop himself anymore.
“King..” Maggie tried to pacify Kingsley but just one glare from him she went mute.
“What did you just say?” Thomas said already heating up. Kingsley looked front without a word
“Kingsley I’m talking to you!!” Thomas barked and hit his hand on the table but Kingsley still kept quiet.
“You deciding to attend a school doesn’t mean you should degrade my reputation by mingling with a lowlife girl whose cheap enough to sleep with men for fame” Thomas yelled.
“What reputation am I degrading when you married your son’s ex?” Kingsley said.
“Kingsley!” Daphne sparked up.
Kingsley stood up from his seat. “This meeting is pointless but I’ll still make one thing clear to you. I’m never going to get married to someone I don’t love, so just forget about all this betrothal of a $h|t coz it’s pointless” Kingsley said and walked out.
“King!” Maggie immediately went after him.
“Kingsley!” She caught up with him at the exit by grabbing his arm.
“You shouldn’t have done that King” Maggie said.
“Why? Why are you so hellbent on trying to ruin things for me? I will never love you the way you want! Why don’t you make things easier and make our family stop this betrothal of a stuff” Kingsley snapped.
“Because I love you King” Maggie snapped.
“No other girl can love you the way I love you. Whether you like it or not we’re meant to be together” Maggie said and cupped his cheek, slamming her lips against his as she kissed him hard.
Kingsley’s eyes widened and he immediately pushed her away.
“Stop this madness Maggie!” Kingsley said, wiping his lips.
“I will only stop till you’re mine” Maggie said.
“Is that how you want it? Fine, I’m cutting off our friendship right here. Everything ends here, don’t come any closer to me ever again” Kingsley warned her in all seriousness.
Maggie’s eyes widened. “You can’t do that” She said
Kingsley glared at her and began walking away.
“Kingsley if you leave right now, I swear to you I’ll make her life a living hell” Maggie warned him
Kingsley paused without turning to her. He knew exactly who he was referring to, Lucia. Kingsley clenched his fists tightly before walking away.
“King! Kingsley! Kingsley!”
Kingsley entered his car and drove off.
“Kingsley!!!” Maggie screamed maniacally.

<BOOKSHOP>
Lucia walked in a bookshop and her eyes brightened at all the books she saw placed neatly on their shelves.
She was wearing casual wears, a big black hoodies with baggy jeans.
The girls and her went shopping for the dress they’ll wear for tonight’s party and on their way back, she decided to stop by and borrow some books since she loves reading.
“I haven’t yet read this one” She thought, as her finger traveled through the book.
“Sir, can I borrow more than three books?” Lucia asked and the man in charge nodded with a smile
“Kahmsamida!(Thank you!)” Lucia beamed before she began picking the books.
Her eyes caught a book and she smiled widely. “Gosh! Finally, I’ve seen this book” She said.
The book was the only laying on its shelve and when she stood on her tiptoe to grab it someone grabbed it from behind, same moment as her.
She frowned and turned around. Her eyes widened and she could swear her heart fluttered when she saw Jayden standing this close.
“Lucia?” Jayden muttered, looking also surprised.
They both began staring at each other and when they noticed the bookshop keeper was staring at them, Jayden immediately released the book and took a step back.
“Ohh uhh.. I didn’t know you came to places like this” Lucia cleared her throat.
“I love reading so I sometimes drop by to grab a book” Jayden said.
“Really? But… Aren’t you an idol? You shouldn’t be doing these” Lucia said slowly and he chuckled.
“Well I love doing some certain things on my own” Jayden said.
“You can have the book” Lucia stretched it at him.
“Oh just read it, once you’re done you can give it to me.” Jayden said and Lucia nodded with a smile.
They paid for the books they borrowed before leaving the bookshop.
“Care for a coffee?” Jayden asked when he spotted a cafeteria.
“Sure!”
They both walked in the cafeteria and ordered for coffee which one was brought to them.
Lucia took a sip of her cup and placed it down.
“So mind telling me more about you?” Lucia asked.
“Well my life is pretty normal. My family live in the states, I have three big sister who treats me like a baby. It’s funny how I’m treated like a baby at home but I’m the oldest of my group” Jayden said and Lucia chuckled.
“You’re lucky, I have no family” Lucia said.
“Oh, I’m sorry…” Jayden muttered.
“It’s okay, I’ve accepted that” Lucia said and Jayden nodded.
“Sylvia paid huge money to the company I work under for the group and I to perform a short music at her birthday party, I hope you will attend. Looking forward to seeing you tonight” Jayden said.
“Sure” Lucia said and took a rough sip from her coffee and that burn her lips.
“Sorry” Jayden mumbled and she grimaced, pouting out her lips to see her burn lips.
Jayden smiled as he stared at her. “Cute” He thought.

<YOON’S MANSION>
“Sir Mason is in his room, please follow me” The maid said and Becky nodded, walking in.
She was wearing her usual tomboy outfits with a crossbag that had some textbooks in it. Since she got paired with him, she decided to come over and do the project today
“Who is it?” Quinn’s voice was hears as she rushed downstairs.
Her eyes widened when she saw Becky.
“OMG!!?” Quinn screamed so loudly, startling Becky.
“You scared me, jeez” Becky frowned
“OMG!! Becky!! In my house!!” Quinn said, fanning herself for air.
Becky’s brows furrowed even more as she stared at Quinn.
“I love your group’s song, I’m your number one fan and you’re my bias.. Gosh!!” Quinn screamed, hopping on her spot.
Becky looked quite surprised. She didn’t expect anyone would still love her group and more so that she was someone’s bias
“Uhh thanks” Becky smiled awkwardly.
“Can you show me Mason’s room?” Becky asked and Quinn immediately nodded.
She grabbed Becky’s hand and led her to Mason’s room. Music could be heard blaring louldly from his room.
“Brother!” Quinn opened the door to see Mason was doing his pushups.
He looked up and smirked. “Oh hi pretty” He said.
“I’m hungry, will be back okay? Gosh, Becky is in house!” Quinn said excitedly rushing downstairs to eat.
“What brings you here” Mason stood up, grabbing a towel to clean his sweat.
He was shirtless, wearing just a jogger that hung loosely to his waist.
Becky settled down in front of the study table she saw and placed her crossbag on it. “Let’s do our project” Becky said, opening her bag
Mason smirked, she locked like a reserved type.
“My brother doesn’t have good taste” He thought and walked towards her.
Becky immediately tensed up when she felt Mason’s hand around her shoulder.
“Why don’t we just relax before we start with the project” Mason whispered to her.
“Remove those bones from me or imma break it” Becky said and Mason chuckled, going to sit next to her.
“You’re feisty, I like you” Mason said.
“I’ll just overlook it today but next time you trespass my boundary. You’ll regret it” Becky said before she began flipping through the pages.
Mason stared at her for awhile and smiled.

<NIGHT••SYLVIA’S PARTY>
🎼We’re gonna party, let’s get it started
Gonna lose ourselves tonight, let’s light up the night
Gonna celebrate, gonna hit the floor

The hall was heating up with the crowd jumping up, cheering as ECSTASY did a short performance on honor of Sylvia’s birthday.
Kingsley sat at one corner of the hall with Velvet as he tried to pay his attention to the performance but it wasn’t working.
Not only was he not in his best of mood but his gaze was on Lucia. He was worried and felt a bit guilty he’ll be involving her in his family.
“Are you falling for her?” Velvet asked.
Kingsley scoffed. “Not in my wildest dreams” Kingsley looked at her.
“You two look good together” Velvet said with the aim of annoying Kingsley and it was a success as she watched him roll his eyes.
The performance ended and their cheers doubled. Jayden ran his hands through his hair and wink and that seem to drive the crowd even more crazy.
“Wwwooohhh!!!” Scarlett screamed loudly, waving her arms in the air.
“You seem to really like them” Jackson smiled.
“Yeah, Andy is my bias” Scarlett said.
“Is he more handsome than me?” Jackson said teasingly and Scarlett chuckled
“Maybe” She shrugged with a playful smirk on her lips.
Lucia was sitting down next to her friends, sipping from her can of soda as she watched the performance. She was wearing a black down that looked so beautiful on her.
So far the birthday party has been really lively and she was enjoying herself. Now it’s time for the friends of the birthday celebrant to say a short speech for Sylvia.
Avery walked up stage and took the mic to make her speech. Lucia glared at her from when she stood and when she couldn’t longer bear to way her, she stood up and made to excuse herself for some fresh air when the spotlight suddenly shone on her.
She stopped walking as that took her by surprised. Everyone was staring at her as to why the spotlight was on her, she turned to the podium to see Maggie.
“Before I give my birthday speech for my friend, why not entertain ourself for awhile with a video” Maggie said and the crowd began murmuring.
“No…” Scarlett muttered as the video was played on the projector. The video that was the genesis to all their problems.
A video of Lucia kissing and making out with an old man in bed, she was wearing extra revealing clothes as the man’s hand roamed her body
The murmurs immediately began.

The crowds kept murmuring and before they knew it, ‘boos’ and ‘jeers’ rented the whole the hall.
Kingsley glared at Maggie who looked directly at him with a look that say it was just the beginning.
Lucia began sweating as she watched as all h@ťěful comments were thrown at her.
She wasn’t in this way because of the video but because the scene was like a deja vu to her. How those students mocked and taunted her for being fat, how they belittle her and made her feel so worthless
“Get a grip of yourself Lucia, I thought you became strong… I thought you’re over this” Lucia repeated to herself with folded fists but deep down she knew she was wrong.
No matter how much she tried to act strong she will always remain that weak Lucia. All what she had gone through will always pursue her
A groan escaped her lips as her heart ached, her hands went to her chest.

Lucia felt the area around spinning dizzily as the crowd jeered at her. Her vision suddenly became clearer when an arm grabbed her wrist.
“Kingsley..” Lucia murmured when she looked at Kingsley.
Kingsley felt even more guilty when she looked at him. In those eyes she could see how scared and horrified she was.
“Follow me” He said
Almost immediately, the people in the crowd began throwing food and drinks at Lucia.
In a swift motion, Kingsley drew her to his arms and the food all landed on his back.
