CHAPTER THIRTY THREE & FOUR: KISS OF BETRAYAL
George run his hands through his hair, eyes moving everywhere in his living room, Alexandria having my child is something I found impossible, I never had segz with her that I remember.
Only an unfortunate night but I thought, no…. I knew that I had protection on so how? She must be lying, things like that just don’t happen ” George?” I hurried back to the bedroom at Monica call, she look at me ” is she gone?” I nod ” is something wrong, you look worried”
” Is just about work ” I smile, realizing that am hiding secrets from her again ” how about you, are you feeling okay?” Moving close, I sit on the edge of the bed, my palm connect to her forehead to check temperature.
” Am fine ” she pout her lips ” can I ask you something? It will be personal tho ”
” Go on ”
” Why are you so loyal to Arthur?” I didn’t meet her gaze ” is just something I want to know, you treat him like your king ” I chuckle at her last sentence
” Isn’t that a bit too much?” I retorted
She shake her head ” that’s how I feel ” looking at her, I tuck her hair behind her ears, those eyes of hers dance with curiosity ” tell me ” she blink her eyes and I nod
” It’s quite short ” my voice calm ” my parents died, I was only five then, went to orphanage home, was treated horribly” she gasp, what I h@ťěd was the pity in her eyes ” I survived okay, I escaped, stayed on the streets for two years, stealing to eat and that’s when I met Arthur, he came to me, while it was raining, I was looking for food in the garbage-can” I sign ” the words he said to me, still remain in my head ”
” What is it?”
” He asked me to be his friend, told me I should leave all these and follow him, he had no one and doesn’t want to be alone so he picked me” I smile remembering that moment.
” Why did he pick you? Did you ask him?” She ask and I nod.
” He said I looked dangerous” I mumble then clear my throat ” and now you know why am loyal to him ”
Monica frown ” he is your savoir but that doesn’t mean you should pick him over me ”
” Baby ” I lean close and kiss her cheek ” I can never pick him over you, not when they is a possibility of you being pregnant ” her eyes widen, don’t tell me she didn’t think of that ” you’re mine to protect ”
” I don’t think am pregnant” she mumble
” Why not?” I look at her ” you have all the symptoms” she lay down back on the bed, avoiding my gaze and not saying anything, from the look in her eyes she doesn’t want a child. Not with me. ” Monica?”
” Hmmm”
” Are you hating the thought of being pregnant?” She said nothing, just remain quiet ” are you kidding me? You don’t want my child?”
” Is nothing like that” she sit up and look at me ” why are you suddenly angry, I haven’t even taken pregnancy test, it might be fake…. I don’t want you to have your hopes up ”
” What are you saying?”
” This is still too early for me to be pregnant, I have my whole life ahead of me, getting pregnant and having a child is not in my plans ”
” You should have said something instead of letting me go in with you raw ” I stand to my feet ” and a child will hold you back?”
” Is not the right time!!!” I look at her, she seem nervous but her hands remain on her stomach in a protective manner ” I didn’t plan for this ”
” Monica”
” Try to understand me ” she scoffed ” in three days time I have bar exam to prepare for, I can’t have morning sickness, I have my career to focus on ”
” What are you planning?” I fold my hands ” let’s say you’re pregnant, what will you do? Abortion?” She didn’t reject it nor did she agree to it, which only means she is considering it ” unbelievable”
” George”
” Why did you agree to marry me?”
” Marrying is different from wanting a child!!”
” Let me give you a warning” I frown, my eyes emotionless ” if you end up pregnant, you dare not ki|| my child. I want that baby alive ”
” George!”
I didn’t respond to her, just walk out of the room, shut the door and punch the wall, the anger in me was something I needed to work on, how can she say something like that, not wanting my child? Thinking of an abortion?
I should take care of something else first, Monica won’t do anything to my child.
Picking up my phone, I dial Arthur number and call…it took five seconds before he pick up ” what is it?”
” I have a problem ” mumbling I move to the kitchen counter and speak ” Alexandria is in London ”
” You’re joking?” He mumble ” I told you to ki|| her after the divorce”
” I have sympathy for people” I mumble and then look back, making sure Monica isn’t there ” the problem now, is that she speaks of having my child ”
” Your child?”
” Yes, I have no idea how to react, what do I do?”
” Let’s say she do have your child, what will you do? Accept the child?”
” No ” I frown, hating myself for being such a horrible person ” I don’t want anything from that woman, this wasn’t part of the plan, when I seduce her into marrying me, I have no thoughts of children ”
” I will send men to trace her and eliminate both of them ”
” Thank you ” I hung up and exhale, feeling a huge weight lift off my shoulder, the thought of me ki||ing my child surprisingly didn’t matter to me but when Monica eyes looked like she is considering an abortion, I h@ťěd that.
Even if she decides not to marry me and eventually get the pregnancy test positive, I will simply ask her to give birth and hand the child over to me.
The thought of seeing a mini me and Monica version really excites me, that’s how much I love her.
Arthur close the car door and move towards his mansion, approaching the door, he slow down at the sight of Christine” just as expected, she left the car ”
” Christine ” I smile ” didn’t expect you to stop your pretence, at least not now ”
” I wanted to see you” she run towards my direction and hug me, the hug was short, she withdraw and I stare at her face ” I know you’re wondering how am alive ”
” Indeed ” a frown creep to my face ” I know for a fact that I push you ”
” You did ” she smile ” just not enough to end me ” her hands slowly move from my arms to my neck, my gaze didn’t leave that face of hers, for some reason, I miss this…. Christine is nothing like lacey, she is not the fragile type, have never been.
She loved everything rough, especially the bed scene ” are you picturing me naked?” Her eyes meet mine ” that will be such a disgusting thing to do ” she tighten the hold around my neck, I use just my right hand to drag her hand and pin her to the wall.
” Why are you here ” I hiss ” for revenge?”
” What do you think, that I will let you go free?” She growl, those eyes dancing with hatred, I grin, let go of her and watch her closely.
” Don’t you think you just run into the lions den? What do you expect ” I walk close and she step back ” I will let you go so you can plan something else and harm me?”
” Yes ” she grin ” I know you love surprises”
” People change Christy” the nickname I always call her roll freely from my mouth, I watch how she frown at the sound of that.
” Don’t call me that ” her voice filled with hatred ” because of you, I lost my child, the one thing I cherished and for that, I promise you….you must pay ”
” You want to take me to jail?”
” You will riot in jail ” her thr_@t made me smile.
” I know Christine, that you turn on your recorder at the beginning of this conversation ” her eyes widen which let me know that my guess was right ” give it to me ”
” No ” she stepped back, I frown, I know it’s not only the recorder she plan for this night, they are more. The struggle with her begin, I grab her bag and literally grip the dress she put on, ” let go of me!!!” Her yells and those punches didn’t mean $h|t to me.
Successfully taking everything off her body, I watch three phone fell from her bag and a camera, which means someone was watching and must have saved everything.

Christine chuckle ” you’re done for ” grabbing her hair, I stare at her naked body then her face ” are you scared?”
” You really have the guts to mess with me Christine ” I drop the camera, smash it and then did same to her phone ” do you think I will let you go after making me this angry?”
” What will you do?” She slap my hands off he hair and then move closer to me ” ki|| me? R@P£ me? Burn me? I don’t care anymore ”
” You must think you can make me go to jail ” I smile ” many have tried sweetheart ” I cup her face tightly, my gaze lower to her Břě@šť and back to her face, I watch how her eyes deepen with h@ťě.
I must be sick but that excites me ” let go of me” she slap my hands off ” you bastard” putting my hand in my pocket, I watch how she didn’t even try to hide her nakedness.
Instead, she move close, wrap hands around my neck and kiss me, I blink, her eyes wide open, looking at me, I didn’t reciprocate the kiss, oh no….. I found it daring that she touch me without fear.
Instead, my hands move to her hair, I grab it so that that she gasp from pain, blood drip down.
” Arthur” I immediately separate from Christine, turn around and notice the shock on lacey face.
Lacey ring the doorbell to Monica apartment for the third time but no response, the thought of her not being home just dawn on me, I should have known, I just needed a place to clear my head.
” You’re here ” hearing that voice, I turn around ” I knew I will find you here ” I look at Edwin, standing right there, blond hair neatly combed, putting on a suit while his eyes watch me carefully
” What are you doing here?” I ask, confused as to why he keeps following me around
” I saw you leaving the coffee shop with Arthur and then you storm out of his car, I just know I have to find you ”
” To accomplish what?” I move closer to him, fold my hands ” another video of me and you kissing?”
” Don’t be ridiculous”
” Ridiculous?” I chuckle ” I have been begging for you to love me and when am finally over you, you can’t seem to let me be ”
” Lacey ” he step closer ” I can’t do anything to harm my image anymore, am running for mayor”
” What does that have to do with me?”
” I just need you to know that am not going through any horrible lane to have you, I just can’t forget that kiss, it’s stuck in my head ” I watch him, he look really sincere ” I can’t stop thinking about you, can’t you see how you make me feel?”
” Do you really think I will believe anything that is coming out of that your mouth?”
” Lacey ” he hold my hand and I pull back
” Don’t you dare touch me, I have had enough of you ”
” Can’t you see that Arthur is going to bring only pain your way? They is nothing good to gain from him, he is into so many horrible business” Edwin growl ” he ki||s people lacey, he doesn’t have one ounce of sympathy in his blood ”
” That’s enough ” I groan
” If he can ki|| his own fiancee and child ” Edwin shake his head ” he can ki|| you ”
” Arthur didn’t ki|| anybody ” I frown ” he is not like that, Christine is alive and sound ” moving towards the elevator, I got in and look at him ” from now on stay away from me ”
” Am not giving up on you” he smile ” you know where to find me ” the elevator door closes and I exhale, glad I didn’t lose my cool at that moment, bending down I suddenly feel so weak and exhausted, it’s already so late.
I really don’t want to see Arthur now but I guess I should head back home.
The drive in the taxi didn’t take long, I used minutes to think about everything that have happened recently and decided to see it has just a misunderstanding, Arthur won’t touch someone else.
Am being too paranoid , he is not the type to do such a thing.
Paying the taxi driver, I open the gate, get in, close it shut and move closer to the mansion, I blink my eyes at two figures standing right outside the door, walking close I gasp at that sight.
Christine naked, hugging Arthur. their lips connect, Arthur didn’t even bother in pushing her back, instead he place his hand on her hair ” Arthur?” I gasp, my bag falling from my hand while I cover my mouth, tears swell in my eyes.
I couldn’t believe what am seeing, I knew it all along, the way he kept staring at her in the coffee shop and now this? Kissing her?
He quickly sperate from her” lacey ” I have no idea what am to think right now ” is not what you think ” should I go away? Give them space? What am I thinking? Why would I give them space?
Picking up my bag, I move towards Christine direction, the grin on her face, I h@ťěd it so much that I slap her as hard as I can across the face. She look at me, surprise and anger evident in her eyes.
” How dare you” she wanted to retaliate but Arthur grab her hand and push her backwards, she fell and I frown at her naked sight. Does she have no Shame?
” Lacey ” Arthur wanted holding my hand but I flinch, look at him dead in the eyes, before I went back in the house I set boundaries.
” Don’t touch me ” was my last word to him.
