Peyton has been trying to reach Skai but to no avail.
She looked really worried and it was obvious.
Nibbling on her fingers and pacing around,as she kept trying her number.
“Are you okay”? She heard someone’s voice,it was a familiar voice.
She turned,only to find Nolan staring at her deeply.
“I…I’m find fine,she cleared her throat and said”
“But you look worried” anything the matter? Nolan asked.
“I’m fine,thank you sir” she replied politely.
Why this sudden care and concern,what is he up to now? Peyton thought to herself.
“You can go home and rest if you’re tired” Nolan continued.
Peyton’s eyes widened in shocks.
“Okay,now this is getting really weird” she muttered.
“Do you need me to do anything for you,sir?” She asked calmly, cause she still doesn’t understand why her boss is being all nice and caring all of a sudden.
“Not at all”
I just saw how worried you looked,so I decided to come find out if everything was fine,he said,giving Peyton another round of shock.
Peyton raised her hand up to his body to feel his temperature, to be sure he’s okay.
“Oh gosh!? My boss is really going crazy,Lord save him,she said inwardly.
“What are you doing?” Nolan asked
“Nothing, sir” i have to go now, she said and hurriedly left.
Nolan smiled and shook his head.
“She thinks I’m going crazy or something” he chuckled.
“I will make it up to you, I promise” he said and went back to his office.
***THE MCKENZIE’S RESIDENCE***
Peyton got home but didn’t find Skai in.
“Where could she be?” Even her boyfriend’s number isn’t connecting, said worriedly.
She was still in her thoughts wondering, when the door creaked opened.
“Oh Skai” what happened? You got me worried,your line has not been going through all day. She said the moment Skai walked in.
“I believe you had lots of fun considering the time you’re coming home” Peyton said,but Skai bursted out crying instead, getting Peyton even more worried.
“Skai!’ What happened, what did he do to you? Did he rape you?
Skai shook her her sideways, meaning, no.
“Then what happened?
“He…he…she just couldn’t hold herself.
“He what?” Skai, talk to me,you’re getting me scared. Did he die? Peyton asked.
“He broke up with me” he said he doesn’t want me anymore, Skai said,her cries increased.
“Awww” come here,Peyton said and pulled her into a warm hug.
“Look at me,Skai” he isn’t worth your tears okay,please stop crying, she consoled her sister.
Just then,a knock came in.
“I will get that” Peyton said and heads for the door.
“Good evening, ma’am” here’s your package,i was asked to deliver it to you,the tall guy said.
“But I didn’t order anything, she wondered.
“Please, sign here ma” the delivery guy said,handing Peyton a pen.
“Sure” she said and collected the pen from him,signed and returned it back.
She collected the package and the guy left.
“Who sent it” Skai asked.
“I don’t know, Skai” that’s what I’m trying to find out,she said and started tearing the papers off.
She tore them off until she got to what was inside.
In the box was a bracelet,a pair of earrings to match and a rose flower with some chocolates inside.
“Were you expecting gifts from anyone?” Skai asked, sniffing.
“No,not at all” she said, still surprised.
“I think there’s something else,Skai said.
Peyton delved in and found a written note inside,she opened it and it read.
“I’M SORRY” boldly written in it.
“Hmmm,she hummed” who could this be?
“It doesn’t matter,please give me the chocolates, Skai said.
“I thought you were crying and heartbroken?” Peyton joked.
“Not anymore” she said,making Peyton laugh.
Now that’s the Skai i know,an always happy person.
“I don’t mind having the bracelet too” she added. Hearing that, Peyton quickly packed them and ran to her room leaving her to laugh.
***NEXT DAY***
? CHILLI RESTAURANT ?
“Miss, boss wants you in his office now,one of the guards said.
Peyton nodded and left what she was doing,heading to Nolan’s office.

“The door is open,Nolan said when he heard the knock on the door,knowing it was Peyton.
“You sent for me,Sir” she said politely.
“Get ready Miss Peyton, you and I are traveling tomorrow,he blurted out,making Peyton blink like she just got tons of sands in her eyes.
