AVERY’S POV
I woke up, did my normal morning routine with my baby, wore her a pink onesie and pink bow and I wore a light pink Mach & Mach wrap crop jacket, black tight high waisted tight skirt with slit, gold dangling earrings, gold choker and cuff bracelet.
I applied some makeup and fixed my curly long hair with gel.
I wore the baby carrier and put Ria in it then left the bedroom and headed downstairs straight to the dining room.
Mom’s already eating and our food is served, potato and chicken salad.
I sat down “Good morning mom.” I greeted as I started eating my breakfast.
“Morning sweetie.” She replied “So, about Ria.”
“What about her?” I asked as I took a bite of the food.
“Do you think you’re doing the right thing?” Mom asked.
I frowned confusedly “What right thing?”
“About Rex.”
“Mom please, I’m eating.” I said angrily.
“It doesn’t matter. Just because he cheated on you doesn’t mean you should be hiding Ria away from him all the time.” Mom said and I rolled my eyes “Ria needs her father, she’s gonna ask about her dad one day when she grows up…”
“When she grows up, not now. I’ll probably tell her that her father left me for another woman and Ria doesn’t really even need her father. I’m her mother and father, so…” I trailed off continuing my breakfast.
I’ve been hiding Ria away from Rex, everyday and it’s not that easy. Rex always want to get close to me or after meeting, he’ll lock me in a room and made out with me, I pushed him and started avoiding after business meetings.
“You know he didn’t left you for another woman, he just slept with another girl, he might not deserve you but just give him a chance to let him know about his daughter.” Mom said “I know Rexford and his father, in their family, they’re very aggressive, Rexford won’t take it easy with you if he finds out about his daughter.”

I dropped the fork, losing my appetite, feeling worried “Mom, I’m late for work, I have to go.” I said as I stood up, carried Ria and put her in my carrier.
Mom shrugged “Fine, I know you won’t finish your food so…” She gave me a lunch box.
I smiled as I collect it “Thanks mom.” I said as I carried my handbag and wanted to leave the dining room.
I stopped feeling worried again, I’m taking Ria to work, if Rex and his dad comes to my company, he’ll find out I have a daughter and he won’t take it easy.
I turned with a smile “Um Mom, can you help me take care of Ria till I come back?” I asked removing Ria from the carrier and I lift her “Be good for mommy. Alright? I’ll miss you you little cutie.” I squealed, kissed her nose and Ria smiled showing her teethless gum.
I gave mom my baby “But why?” she asked.
I shrugged acting innocent “No reason.” I took off the baby carrier, gave her the baby stuffs and left the mansion.
At least Rex won’t know and see my baby.
I went to the garage, sat at the backseat of my black Range Rover then the driver drove off.
*A’VERY’S COSMETIC COMPANY*
I arrived at my office building and came out of the car and was about to walk in.
My phone rang, it’s Mr Orlando, I answered the phone:
Avery? Hello sir?
Mr Orlando ? Come to the O’Empire now, we have an important meeting.
Avery? But… *hung up*
I sighed feeling a little pissed. I’ve not even entered my office building and still leave the office. God!
I rolled my eyes as I entered the car “Cam, take me to the O’Empire Company.”
Cam drove off and I sighed deeply.
*O’EMPIRE COMPANY*
I arrived at the company, came out of the car and went inside, walking down the office, gulping repeatedly because I’m going to meet Rex again.
I can’t believe this. Thank God I didn’t bring my child. I don’t even know how to face him because I can’t stop thinking about what mom said about the Orlandos.
I need to act confidence and hide my secrets from Rex.
I went straight to the office and met his secretary “Hi.”
“Good morning Miss Carmichael.”
“Morning, is the CEO in the office?” I asked.
She shook her head “No, not really. He went for some business stuff.”
I frowned “What? What about Mr Orlando?”
“He just left with his son recently, get said I should tell that he’s sorry for calling for no reason, they went to see Crownsberg mayor.” She explained.
I nodded “Okay.”
“Maybe you can just…”
I walked away without feeling angry but relived because I won’t get to meet Rex today.
I still feel like calling off the deal but Mom has already sighed the contract.
I went to the garage, enter the car and the driver drove off back to my office building.
I entered and noticed that the building is scanty than before, I don’t know what the f_ck is going on.
I shrugged as I went inside my office “Good morning Ma’am.” Hannah greeted.
“Morning Hannah.” I replied as I sat at my desk, checking some documents.
“Where’s Ria, ma’am?” She asked.
“She’s at home, with her grandma.” I replied.
“Why?” She asked.
“Why?” I frowned at her.
“Well… I’m sorry, I just miss her little cheeks.” Hannah said.
I smiled “Don’t worry, she’ll be here tomorrow. I just need a little break, okay?”
“Okay ma’am.”
“So, how many customers have come here to buy stuff, this week?” I asked.
“Well, like… 20.” Hannah replied.
I frowned “That’s it? What happened?”
I’ve never have such small amount of customers. My business might be small and growing but I’ve always have upto 100 customers in a week, sometimes I even turned down some clients because they’re too much. What happened this days?
Even last week I only had 23 customers, I’m losing them every week. What’s going on?
Hannah nodded “Well, we’ve only had 1 client but he back down because of new cosmetic company across the street.”
My eyes went wide “What company?”
“Some company called Gigi’s World Of Cosmetic that just opened 3 weeks ago, a lot of people go there because they said her products are very good. Didn’t you notice, ma’am?” Hannah explained.
I can’t believe it.
“Let me see.” I said as I stood up and went straight to the front yard of the building and gasped to see a pink cosmetic building taller than mine, filled with people walking in and out.
What the f_ck? Why would someone build a cosmetic company in front of my cosmetic company? Stealing my customers? Who does that? Why?
“That owner is foolish, I can’t believe she would build a cosmetic company over here where there’s already a cosmetic company.” Hannah complained.
“I need to check this place out, Hannah, I’ll be right back.” I said as I ran across the street and went inside the building.
The building is beautiful, pinkish and more luxurious than mine. It’s like they just spent a lot of money here but not hard work.
I saw shelves where the cosmetics are kept, people are checking it, the shelves is full of cosmetics like face creams, foot creams, hand creams, lotions, scrubs, soaps, lipstick, makeup kits and so on.
I went to the shelves and took a makeup package, didn’t bother to check the design, I opened it and took a lipstick.
I frowned as I noticed that this lipstick is from another cosmetic company called ‘Rare Beauty’, the name is just changed.
I returned the lipstick and checked the mascara. Wait, this is from my company. What the…?
I think the owner is a plagiarize person, stealing other companies ideas and presents it as hers. Why does the ‘Gigi’ name sounds familiar?
“You touch it, you buy it.” I feared as I heard the most familiar voice.
I turned and gasped as I saw Gianna, standing in front of me, smirking and folding her arms.
She’s dressed in pink spaghetti strap tight mini dress showing her curves, shady and to much makeup on her face, straight long hair and gold earrings and
“That’s right, I’m the CEO of this company and I’m better than you.” She said.
I couldn’t forget how she ruined my relationship between me and Rex, but what has happened has happened but I won’t forgive the both of them. I know she’s seeking some stupid revenge on me. Oh! No wonder.
I sighed as I returned the makeup kits to it’s shelves.
“So let me guess, you lose so many customers and clients because of the new successful company, you’re so lame and unlucky that you want to steal my products so you can sell it and steal my customers.” Gianna explained.
I frowned and scoffed “Seriously you’re accusing me of something you did. I won’t say anything more because I don’t wanna create any scene.” I said walking away.
“So now you’re jealous and still angry I f_cked my ex-boyfriend in your beautiful bedroom.” Gianna yelled and attracts everyone’s attention.
I glared at her, how can she say such lie out loud in front of everyone?
? Oh my God. Avery’s jealous of Gigi’s products because they’re in progress.
? A’Very is becoming a failure.
? I can’t believe Gigi slept with her boyfriend in Avery’s bedroom.
I smiled “You know, you just copied a bunch of companies products including mine, cleared the names and changed them to yours, built your company in front of my company just to steal my customers and ruin my business and it won’t work, because mine is real and yours is fake.”
Everyone gasped and Gianna glared at me.
“And for the record, I met Rex first and we fell in love before you even see him, you dated him, he dumped you, and still went to me all the way from Crownsberg to Damville because he loves me and doesn’t like you. You couldn’t live peacefully because of our long lasting relationship and for some reason you made him sleep with you thinking you’ve finally have him but guess what? He even made a restraining order for you to stay away from him.” I laughed as I walked away.
I feel good embarrassing her in front of her customers.
GIANNA’S POV
God! I just h@ťě that b*ych, at least I’ve taken away her customers and I’ll surely take away her business and life.
I’m glad I ruined their relationship. Avery watch out for more failures.
*CARMICHAEL’S MANSION*
AVERY’S POV
I arrived home feeling angry that Gianna is ruining my business.
I just hope it didn’t ruin totally because it’s my dream and life.
I entered the house and entered the living room and met mom sitting on the couch.
She stood up, starring at me nervously “Avery, I’m sorry.”
I guess she heard what happened to my company today.
I nodded “Hey mom, where’s Ria?”
“She’s inside with… I’m sorry.” Mom apologized again.
I frowned suspiciously “With who?”
I ran upstairs and went straight to my bedroom which is opened. Why?
I smiled as I saw Ria in her crib, playing, I approached her crib “Hey baby, missed me? Because I’ve missed you so…”
I heard my toilet flushed, my eyes went out in shock as Rex walked out of the bathroom.
What the…? What’s he doing here?
“What are you doing here?” I yelled.
He snubbed me as he walked past me and carried my baby and she smiled.
I gasped “Hey, I didn’t say you should carry her.”
“I didn’t ask.” He replied without stealing any glance from me.
“Give me back my baby!” I yelled as I wanted to collect my baby.
“Argh!” I screamed as Rex pushed me and I fell on the bed.
He scoffed “Don’t you mean our baby?”
What? How did he know? What…? No?
“Pack her things, we’re living.” Rex ordered as he wanted to take my baby away.
“Rex!! What are…?”
“Now!!!!” He exploded and I shrieked in fear, packing her stuffs.
Why is this happening to me today? Gianna tried to steal my business, Rex found out that he has a daughter with me. Why? I shouldn’t have come to work today.
