BLOCK 4
Sebastian just finished unpacking his things. Shaun had left to take care something which he didn’t specify.
He laid on the bed, bringing out his phone to see several text message and calls from his mum. He smiled sweetly as he knew how worried she would be.
At first they never wanted him to come to this school no matter how popular it is. They feared he won’t fit in as the school is for rich people with social status.
He dialed her number immediately and she picked up after the third ring.
“Seb sweetheart, I was so worried. Why didn’t you pick my calls or respond to my text? How is that place? Hope the students are not mean to you? Did you eat? Are you…”
“How will you get an answer if you keep asking me questions without giving me a chance to reply.” Sebastian chuckled as he expected this to happen.
“I just wanna make sure you’re comfortable. Call me if you…”
“I’m fine mother, don’t worry about me. It’s just school not prison.” Sebastian said smiling.
“How is dad?”
“He just finished his first treatment. The doctor’s said if he feels any pain within the next four days then he’ll start the second treatment if not he’ll just be put under surveillance.” She said sadly.
A knock on the door interrupted him.
“Okay take care of yourself, I need to go now and say hi to Lizzy for me.” He said ending the call.
“Who is it?” He called standing from the bed and heading towards the door.
“Natasha.” She replied.
He immediately opened the door and smiled on seeing her.
“And to what do I owe this visit?” He said inviting her in.
“I came to make sure you’re settled in…as your Chaperon, it’s my duty.” She said bowing like a male servant.
“Again, I’m not a lady and thank you I’m quite comfortable.”
“Okay then, I need to get going. I advise you to sleep early as tomorrow would be loaded with activities.” she said leaving the room before he could reply. He smiled slightly before closing the door.
NEXT DAY….
All students were already in their various classes awaiting the teachers as there is a strict time policy here. Any student that comes in a minute after the teacher would serve detention. Detention in Salvatore isn’t something to look forward to. Even the FAMICS kept to this rule as not even they could escape detention.
Sebastian entered the class and all eyes were on him. Chrystal rolled her eyes remembering the shirt incident while Swayer smiled seeing that they are in the same class.
Natasha waved her hand, tapping the empty seat next to her and Sebastian smiled, sitting beside her.
“Good morning.” I see you took me advice. Shaun said you slept like a baby.” She winked at him and he chuckled. The teacher got in not long after so everyone stopped talking.
“Good morning students. I’m not going to talk much today as I’ve already organized the practical section for this week. You all would be grouped into pairs and you’re not allowed to change partner.” Mr Griffin their biology teacher said.
He brought out two boxes from underneath his desk and opened it.
“Now If you would please kindly come up and pick up a name. The boys would be picking from this box which contains the group number and the girls would be picking from this box which contains the names of male students. Whichever name you pick would be your partner for the rest of the section.” Griffin said and everyone reluctantly left their seats to do as he said.
After picking the paper, everyone settled down and began opening it. Maeve immediately threw her paper on the ground the moment she saw the name.
“Maeve, could you kindly tell us whom you picked? You would like be sitting with him from now on.” Griffin said on seeing her throwing the paper.
Maeve shut her eyes and folded her hands into a fist before opening her eyes again.
“Kyle Hailey.” She said with a frown and Kyle also frowned.
“Goodluck with that one dude!” Ethan hit his hand playful before leaving the seat. Maeve slowly gathered up her books, moving to Kyle’s seat.
Others also did the same.
Fiona and Gideon
Anna and Ethan
Chrystal and Caleb
Ivory and Drake
Natasha and Shaun
And the rest.
Swayer watched everyone switched seats till it was her turn. She noticed no girl had paired up with Sebastian so she she gently opened her paper and smiled at the name written on it.
“Swayer, can you tell us your partner?” Griffin said even though he already knew who judging from the fact that everyone had partners accept the new student and herself. But since he asked everyone, he had to ask her as well.
“Sebastian Daniero” Swayer said turning back at Sebastian. Sebastian sighed helplessly. Just when he was trying his best to avoid her, they get paired up as partners for the entire section.
Swayer gentle packed her books and moved over to Sebastian’s seat. Natasha glared at them from behind.
“Hi, Sebastian. I finally got to know your name.” She said smiling sweetly.
Sebastian just ignored her and faced the teacher.
“Now everyone is paired up, I’m going to give your first assignment. This semester, we are going to have more of practicals than theory so get ready.” He said and everyone began muttering complaints.
“What do you think he’s going give us as assignment?” Swayer asked Sebastian trying to be friendly.
“Can you not talk to me like we are friends please?” Sebastian said not sparing her a glance.
“I thought I already apologized for my friends behavior..”
“This isn’t about your friends okay. That we are partner doesn’t make us friends.”
Swayer pressed her lips into a thin line and decided to focus on what Mr Griffin is saying.
“Our first topic would be on the reproductive system. I want everyone to give me a well labeled diagram of the male and female reproductive system stating the function of every part.”
“How we just show you how it works.” Ethan said and everyone started laughing.
“This is serious. You are to submit this in two days time and don’t think this won’t be added to you points.” He said sternly and the bell went off. Students began leaving the classroom one after the other.
“I’m sorry you got paired up with that jerk Maeve.” Anna said patting Maeve on the back.
“And to think our first project is reproduce system.” Chrystal laughed out but they just glared at her.
“What? It’s really funny.” She shrugged.
“Sebastian, we should get going.” Natasha said holding his hand. She glared at Swayer before dragging him out of the classroom.
“So you got paired with the new guy, he’s cute.” Ivory said bitting her lips.
“Every guy is cute to you.” Swayer rolled her eyes, leaving them in the classroom.
“What’s up with her?” Chrystal asked and everyone shook their head.
“So are we still going to Ethan’s party?” Fiona asked looking at Maeve.
“It’s not like my opinion matters. you’d still go even if I say no.” Maeve said hanging her bag on her shoulder and leaving the classroom.
“What’s with everyone today and the attitude?” Anna asked but the rest just ignored her, leaving the classroom as well.

Sebastian immediately removed Natasha’s hold of him the moment they left the class.
“I think we should work on the project today.” Natasha smiled.
“Don’t you have Shaun as your partner?” Sebastian raised a brow.
“We are all friends right, we should work on it together then.” Sebastian shifted his gaze and saw Swayer leaving the classroom. He sighed facing Natasha.
“Thank you but I think I should be working with my partner on this.” He said excusing himself and walking up to Swayer. Natasha glared at them before walking away.
Swayer smiled the moment their gaze met.
“We only have two days to work on this so I guess we should start now.” He said carrying a serious face.
“Okay, I think the library would be the best place. What time should we meet up?* Swayer asked.
“4pm.” He said turning around to leave.
“Wait!” Swayer called walking up to his front.
“I know you must have been told lies about us and Chrystal didn’t make a first good impression but if we are going to be partners, the only way for us to succeed if we work together as a team and not as rivals. I would like us to be friends.” She said, walking away before he could even respond.
Sebastian ruffled his hair and was about walking away too when a group of guys surrounded him holding spray paint cans.
He frowned at them but before he could say anything, they started spray painting him.
“What the hell!” Sebastian yelled as the ran off laughing at the act. Other students kept laughing and taking pictures.
“Sorry men but it’s tradition. All new students get spray painted on.” A guy said taking a picture before running off.
