…Derrick left late that evening, he was staying in an hotel,he had been to Benin only once before,be wanted to have a feel of the city,the next day he came to the house and ask me to take him round some exciting places in Benin,mother served us a breakfast of rice and vegetables stew, after which we went to the Victor Uwaifo’s Pallazo Museum,,, luckily for us the living legend prof.Victor Uwaifo was around,Derrick was glad to see the Joromi master in person,,, we left for the Ogba zoo,it was fun seeing those wide creatures,we finally saw a movie in Kada cinemas,,, it was really fun for the both of us,,,after staying for two more days he went back to Lagos…
I was already tired of staying at home,,I needed to do something,since going to school had become difficult I decided to learn a ski||,I wanted to learn baking and meals ,so I went to the catering school near by,but the money I was asked to pay was way too Much,I finally went to a family friend who was a tailor, and pleaded with her to take me as an apprentice, and begged her to allow me pay in installment.. But I didn’t have passion for design, I was gaining absolutely nothing, getting myself to love and learn the ski|| was very difficult for me,my dream was to go to school and nothing had changed…
My birthday was fast approaching, I had thought it will be a normal birthday for me,just eat and sleep,until Derrick sent a parcel for me,I had a knock at our door,the delivering ma was there,pls am looking for miss Charity he had said,I am,how may I help you,you have a parcel ma,please sign here,I did, and he handed me the parcel and left,my parent were out with me now, what’s that, my father asked,I don’t know dad,let me open it,i did, and saw a new latest Android phone in it’s carton, a little note was inside too,

He had attached his phone no,i was just so in shock,I didn’t see that coming,i remembered I had told Derrick my birthday while we discussed, but i never knew he had saved the date.i quickly put on the phone,which already had a sim inside, and placed a call through to Derrick, he had recharged the sim too,,thank you so much Derrick,I am very very grateful, I have the best birthday gift ever,am grateful, oh come off it birthday girl,stop the drama,we talked for hours and hung up,,my parents were happy too and prayed for Derrick.,..
Derrick kept in touch with me via the phone, he called every day,i was very happy to have Derrick in my life…..what’s going on between you and Derrick ,my parents had asked me,nothing mom,we are just friends, hmmmm just friends and he’s this nice to you, we gave birth to you,and we have been down that road,my dad added,come on dad,Derrick is a nice man,but dad seriously we are just friends, nothing more….okay ohhh,my parent had said….i had to stop my fashion ski|| acquisition, i wasn’t learning anytime, i registered on line for a very affordable catering classes and i was doing well following up,i was also doing practical of what i watches,soon i had developed a very strong passion for catering,,
After some months, Derrick came visiting again,,,he saw how much love I have developed for catering,,,since you so much love catering like this,allow me register you in one of the best catering school in Nigeria, it’s in Lagos, and luckily for you ,I know the owner,,,Ah Derrick thank you, I love the offer,but please,register me in any good catering school in Benin,we have good ones here too,,,come onnn, Teri’s Catering World is the best in the Country, you can google it Derrick said,I know ,I see them on line ,but I just don’t want to go to Lagos, my life isn’t there,,I had bad experiences the last time I went to Lagos, so I am done,I said….come oh Charity,winners never quite, and those who quite do not win, you cannot allow your fear,which I don’t know why,stop you from living life,,,learn from the very best ….
After much thought, I decided I can’t live my life in fear of what i do not know, indeed Teri’s Catering World is the best in the country, and it will be a privilege and an honour to be one of them……I decided to go with Derrick to Lagos for my catering course…
In two days time I was with Derrick in his car,on our way to Lagos.,
