Chapter 27
Violet’s POV
Replacing Clover. That’s the last thing I’ll do. His eyes were piercing into mine and I gulped. I couldn’t take my face away.
“Speak Vio… Why the hell is he hovering around you when he shouldn’t be?” He placed his hands on my chin.
“No.. I don’t like him and he’s not my Friend. The teacher asked me to show him around school” I replied. I don’t even know why I am explaining things to him.
I didn’t want him to get the wrong idea that I was now into Malcolm… But wait a minute, there’s no reason why he would do this if he isn’t jealous.
And jealousy comes in when he’s not afraid of losing me to another guy. Is Clover now falling for me.
The thought made my insides excited and I twitched my lips to prevent myself from smiling.
“Are you perhaps jealous” I said and he quickly let me go composing himself and he coughed looking away.
“How can you think that?… I’m not jealous” He said and I chuckled.
“You’re jealous Clover and anyways thanks for bringing me home last night” I said and stood on my toes and kissed his cheeks.
I heard Malcolm still calling my name and I appeared from behind and coughed.
“How did you get there? Was looking for you and you just suddenly disappeared like that” He said.
“You were the one who made me annoyed” I said and hissed.
“I’m hungry and I am going to the cafeteria before break would be over. I think you already know a little” I said and left.
His presence was annoying. I got to the cafeteria and I saw Ryan and Penelope conversing. They were too engrossed that they didn’t know I was coming.
That’s unusual. I don’t know when the both started getting along but either ways I liked it. It would be nice having two best friends.
“Hey guys” I said and they both looked up. Penelope tapped the space beside her and I sat down.
“So what were you both talking about?” I asked and took Penelope’s fork taking a bite of chicken from her plate.
“Hey” She looked at me.
“What? You could have ordered my food. You know I was stuck with that new dude” I rolled my eyes.
“Just admit it Violet. He’s handsome and cute. Students are drooling over him” Penelope gushed.
“He’s not. I don’t see anything good about that guy.” Ryan added and I turned to Ryan giving him a thumbs up.
“Well I don’t care about what you guys think. I think he’s totally my type” Penelope said and I nudged her arm.
“Awwn! You could have said you’re crushing on him. I’m supporting you on that one. Go girl!” I hailed her and she palmed her face.
“Quit that Violet. I didn’t say I have a Crush on him. He’s just handsome and I don’t know why you both are badmouthing him” She said and I eyed her.
“Okay I won’t say anything bad about him because of you” I teased her and she laughed.
Ryan had been quiet all the while and we both turned to him. He was quietly eating his food without saying anything.

It was finally the end of the day. I packed my books into my bag and turned to Penelope who has been persuading me so we could read together.
I don’t wanna involve them in this because I want to prove Mum wrong that I am serious this time around.
I couldn’t even tell Clover because I know that him finding out I might divert from what I wanted to read.
“No thanks Violet I am better off on my own” I tapped her shoulder and she frowned.
“I can explain everything to you perfectly just let me Violet” She asked again and I shook my head.
“I want to try understanding it by myself. You being there is like a distraction to me” I said and she finally nodded.
“Fine if that’s what you want and if you have any questions you can tell me by tomorrow. I’ll be there to answer it all” I guess she’s feeling good that she knows everything.
“Bye Vio see you tomorrow” She said and I glared at her.
“What there’s nothing wrong there ” She acted oblivious and I scoffed. She knew that I don’t like her calling me that.
Vio…..
I took my bag and headed to the library. I got in and the teacher there looked at me weirdly. I guess she’ve never seen my face before and wondering when I started reading.
I took the card and went to seat down at the back where they were few students. I was the only one at the back and then a guy that was seating beside me and then he stuffed his face inside his book.
I brought out my literature textbook. That was what I was going to do today. Read the whole textbook and make sure I understand every single f-__-king thing in there.
I searched for a pencil which I would use to jot down every important detail I understood.
I couldn’t find it inside my bag and then I saw a pencil beside the guy. I cleared my throat before asking him.
“Umm…. Could you please help me with the pencil beside you” I tapped him making my voice low so I wouldn’t be sent out of the library.
He looked up from the book he was reading and I gasped at who he was. What the hell was he doing here?
“Hello” Clover said and my eyes widened.
“What the hell are you doing here? ” I whisper- yelled and he chuckled.
“Reading.. what’s the point of coming to the library” He said and gave me the pencil.
Why the hell did he decide to punish me. There’s no way I can read at peace when Clover is the one seating right beside me.
I exhaled before opening the first page of the textbook and then I felt cold hands on my thighs and I looked at Clover.
He looked like he was engrossed in what he was reading. I tried removing his hands but it wouldn’t go.
With him here and doing all these, I don’t think I would Concentrate. I decided to tell him to let me be even if it was for this moment.
“I’m trying to read Clover so can you please get your hands off my thighs. Your presence is like a distraction” I whispered and then he brought his face closer to mine.
I moved back on my seat and then he moved to my ears and whispered;
“I’m like a leech Vio and my job is to be by your side always so deal with that”
