smile on his face. He holds a document in his
hands.

Lauren’s lawyer asked him. He just smiled and
handed him the file.
He checked through it and smiled at Ethan.
“Good job”
He muttered.
Lauren and every other person don’t seem to get
what’s going on.
Lauren’s lawyer looked very confident, he
tossed the file at Luke’s lawyer.
“That’s a file containing the signature of Luke
and Lauren. The file reads that Luke has agreed
to hand over Linde Plc back to Lauren Quinn
here”
He said.
Lucy and Luke’s lawyer looked shocked.
“What?
Luke will never sign that type of agreement”
Lucy said.
“Well, his signature is right there. you can check
through it also”

“She is going to turn me down for a second

“Well, there is no crime in trying again?
Ellie shrugged.
“Let’s go have lunch, the lunchtime is almost
over”
She pulled Ethan’s hand with her.
“So, how do you get a whole Luke, the son of Mr
George to sign out Linde Plc back to Lauren?”
Ellie asked.

“Do you think am not going to ask? Luke can’t
just wake up one day and sign out Linde Plc”
“Well, it’s a long story but am going to make it
short”

Ethan walked into the police department at the
dead of the night in a black suit and some
shades of sunglasses. He literally dressed like a
competent bodyguard.
He puts his hands in his pocket as he walks in.
“How can I help you?
A cop asked.
“Am here to see Luke Quinn, he was arrested
earlier today”
Ethan replied.
“And who are you?*
“Am his father’s bodyguard… His father sent me
to him”

The cop became scared.
” Yeah, can you lead me to his cell?”
“Sure… Right this way”
The cop replied gesturing him to follow him.
Ethan smiles and removes his shades.
“I guess that works”
He smiled and followed the cop like a
gentleman.
Ethan got to his cell and smiled on seeing Luke
lying on the bare cold floor.
“You can excuse us now”
He said to the cop and the cop walked out.
“Luke Quinn”
Ethan called and Luke opened his sleepy eyes.
He scoffs at seeing Ethan.
“What do you want?”
He asked and stood up to the iron bars.
“It seems you really enjoy this place”
Ethan said.
“What do you want, Ethan?”
He asked again.
“Alright, I can see you are in a hurry to go back
to sleep…
Who do you think is behind the reason you are
here?”
Luke smile…
“Have been waiting for you, you came here to
negotiate my release right?”

“Well, here I am”
“I am never giving you Linde Plc if that’s what
you are here for, I would rather wait for my dad’s
return, or if not, I would rather rot in jail”
“Then tell me, how are you going to run the
business while in jail?”

it rather than lose it to you”

“Who wore sunglasses by this time of the

“I brought them for you including the suit. Am
dropping them off here after you are released in
the morning”

“Reporters are going to be outside in the
morning… You have to dress nice and not in this
prison dress”.
“Why are you so sure of my release?”
Luke asked.
“Your release depends on you and what you say
now”.
He replied.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you…
Your father isn’t coming to save you, he is stuck
in Asia for the next three years.
The Mayor made sure of that”
Luke scoffs.
“So, all this was planned out by the Mayor? You
and the Mayor are working alongside each
other?”
“Yeah, it seems it’s not only one who wants to
bring your whole family down”
Ethan replied.
“So, right now… Your release lies on your hand”
He brought out a document.
“Sign this and you get the charges dropped and
also your secrets will remain safe with me.
Also, you will get your release”
“What are you planning, Ethan?”
Luke was suspecting a foul play.
“Nothing, just sign it”
He replied.
“Am not”
“Alright, you can rot in jail then, you said it
yourself that you preferred that”
Ethan said and walked away.
Luke thought it through for a while.
He will be at a loss, as long as he is inside these
four corners of walls.
If he wants to fight back, he wants to get out
there and take back what was taken from him.
“Wait”
Luke quickly called.
Ethan smiled and looked back.

Ethan got home and was very tired. Harry hands
him a glass of water.
“You must be really tired again”
Harry said.
“Yeah,… But am happy at the same time
We got back to Linde Plc and now I can leave
the recovery department and go back to the
administration department.
“Well, that’s good to hear but Lauren was so
stupid at first.
Why will she hand over Linde Plc blindly to
Luke?”
“Lauren isn’t stupid…
She just made a mistake which she deeply
regrets”
Ethan replied.
“Well, I think you are the stupid one here…
You’re doing all this for her, for her career but
still, she doesn’t want you as her man”
Harry said.
“Alright, I think you need to keep shut now
You have insulted both of us enough already”
Ethan replied and perceived a usual pancake
aroma.
“Are you making pancakes?”
“Yeah…

pancakes? This smells like my sister’s type of
pancakes”

“Yeah, it smells like popcorn mixed with creamy
milk”
Ethan replied and stood up suspecting

He said as he rushed to the kitchen.

The three of them sat down as they ate
together. Harry talked about how they were
being almost shot at their own home.
Ethan also talked about Luke’s first abduction,
his mission, and how he met Lauren Quinn.

They must be paying you a huge sum of salary
for you to be their best employee”
Hannah said.
