Chapter 49
(Walking into the Lion’s Den)
Kyla’s POV
Walking back to my room, I noticed its emptiness. Evans wasn’t in, perhaps he decided to leave thinking I wasn’t coming back
Poor boy, I made him do some chores, not like it was necessary, I gat maids, but just want to keep him in. Taking off my wears, I changed into my nighties, picking up my laptop to read some mails. I was expecting Emma to send the names and pictures of the girls being hired. I asked her to forward it in the morning, but haven’t checked it since then.
Clicking on the icon, new messages rushed in, I scrolled down to that of Emma’s. Good girl, she had sent it already. Checking the time, I noticed she sent it in the afternoon, meaning she didn’t do according to our agreement.
Clicking on the mail, I went through the names and slutty pictures of each girls. Good. I will just figure out the one I will replace. I was about making a choice when a message popped into my phone.
“The girl on red is for The Mask, he choose her himself” Emma stated in her mail. I smirked. This girl is really playing with danger. I can’t believe she is so foolish.
“Ok…..” I simply replied her. She sent a squinting emoji, tagging a message along
“Ain’t you gonna nap them, you know….” She asked
“When are the girls arriving the party?” I asked ignoring her message
“I can’t really say, but perhaps when the meeting is over, then the girls will be ordered in. Let’s say they will be there before then” she replied.
“Good….text me if there is any change of plans….I will let you know about mine before tommorow’s noon” I noted. She sighed
“Ok…I will be…” I hung up on her, I’m done with my questions, no time for chit chats. Leaving that aside, I place a call to Chief, he picked up at the third ring.
“Don’t tell me you left your phone in the toilet this time” I snickered, hearing a little grunt from the background
“Kyla…you should know that I’m already getting old….calling me this late is prohibited” he resorted. I chuckled briefly
“Sorry Chief…. didn’t check the time” I pleaded. There was silence for a while before his voice came up again.
“Did you just say sorry”
I rolled my eyes,….he shouldn’t divert our talk
“Yea…not bad right?”.
“Sorry isn’t a bad word…it’s just a no go area for the Lady Mafia I know”
“Nahhh…come on, I do say sorry…it’s part of me” I whined. ” Not in cases like this….the Kyla I know will always argue to be right, forcing her victim to surrender” he noted
“Good thing you know me….but that’s not why I called. I need some men for the mission, they will be on the ground floor, Jacobs already have it covered. Everyone will be in disguise”
“Hmmm…good plan then, but be careful, not all rosy plans ends up good….how many men do you need” he asked. Making a mental calculations, I gave him my reply
“10 will do, five will be in, the others will be out. I will send you the draft out plan of the location and position they are to stay, until they get orders from me, or notice an emergency.”
“Ok, I will be expecting it…any other thing…”
“No..for now, we gat just tomorrow to prepare…….goodbye Chief”
“Ok… good night….stay safe”

“Hey Jade” Evans called jogging towards her while she slowed down her pace. The senior members could be seen in different training sector, preparing for the impromptu mission they are going on the next day.
According to Kyla, their roles will be forward to them….but she made it clear to them that they will receive each mails in the afternoon…weird. This will be the first time she is changing mission plans.
“Wanna jog with me” Jade asked smiling slightly, her face suddenly changed to a sorry one
“Yea…kind of…at least we can talk this way…but I might get tired soon” he chuckled, expecting her to reciprocate. She smiled sadly, he noticed
“I’m sorry” she muttered, he squinted, looking at her
“Sorry for what?” He can’t remember her doing anything wrong…oppss, perhaps the kiss stuff
“About two days ago….hope Kyla wasn’t harsh on you, I heard you were locked up and later taken out.” She stated. I shrugged
“Nope ..well I did lot of chores…she almost ki||ed me with it. And about being locked up, I turned myself in”
“What?? You shouldn’t have done that…what if you were hurt in the process” she exclaimed frowning.
“It’s better than getting you locked up for disobeying orders…I know you wouldn’t wanna do it so I had to. But she came for me the next day, ordering for my release. It shows she didn’t mean what she said” he explained.
“Or perhaps she was just tasting my patience…f-__-k” She cussed and whispering the first sentence, but he heard her clearly
“You don’t need to be sorry Jade, you wanted it…and erm…I think you gat cute lips there” He winked, making her blush. She could feel tingling sparks building up within her, his wink alone is enough to paralyze her.
“Thanks” she smiled.
“Erm….about last night…boss held a meeting with you all”
“Yep”
“Is there a new mission.?” He asked, watching her closely to read her expression
“Oh ye…..” She paused, remembering Kyla’s words ” Don’t let out any of our discussion here to the maids, servants or anyone” her voice still sounds a warning bell in her mind. But Evans is now part of them, she wouldn’t give him a straight answer though.
“Kind of…not sure yet. But if we are, then boss will let us know” she cooed, grabbing his hand in hers. She paused to stare into his face, beaming brightly..
“Erm Evans….thanks for the kiss too” she muttered shyly. He almost laughed
“Nahh….come on, who wouldn’t wanna kiss a pretty girl like you” He winked, caressing her chin. Yep, he knows he is only flirting with her, but what exactly does she want. He loves her as a friend, but the green light she is showing is becoming annoying.
“And erm…” She was about saying something else when her eyes caught that of Kyla’s, walking towards them. She frown, turning to face her. Evans didn’t notice until Kyla came closer, glaring hard at the both of them.
“See me now Jade” she voiced out softly, not sparing Evans a glance. She left
“You need to go, we’ll talk later” Evans suggested, walking away after hearing her response.
She sighed, making her way to Kyla’s suite.

“So…ain’t you gonna say anything?” Jade asked after waiting for some seconds, hating the silence. She had arrived Kyla’s suite just after she came in. The latter only watch her without saying a word. Her face lit up in a brief smile before speaking.
“You are becoming a woman Jade” Kyla stated, earning a loud scoff from Jade..
“Where you expecting me to remain the same way I was, when I was brought in here?” She asked with grimace. Kyla shook her head
“Time flies…” “Why am I here…I believe it’s not for some flattery” Jade cuts in
“Ignoring the fact that we are sisters, I’m still your boss….you should add respect in your words” Kyla warned firmly. Jade only scoffed folding her arms
“I also believe you didn’t call me here to tell me that…. because I’m fully aware of that..”
“Jade please…I’m done tolerating this weird attitude you are putting on lately with me…” Kyla cuts in receiving an eye roll from Jade
“Hmm…is this about Evans?” She asked
“And what does my recent character have to do with Evans”
f-__-k, Jade is really getting on her nerves with these questions she is throwing back at her.
“You both are getting close these days” Kyla responded calmly, ignoring her attitude.
“We’ve been close from the beginning, do you have a problem with that Kyla?” Jade asked calmly this time. Kyla simply shook her head
“No….well enough of that. About the mission….I want you to stay back at the clan” Kyla noted
Jade frown, not getting her point
“What do you mean?”
“You heard me well, it’s gonna be deadly…I don’t want you getting hurt”
“And what is that suppose to mean. Are you doing some kind of favouritism or perhaps calling me a coward” Jade queried
“f-__-k Jade, that’s not what I meant”
“Then you have to tag me along…I can’t be behind all the time because of your selfish reasons, I’m part of the clan, I should go for any mission. Or what do you think the others will say, how do you want them to see me…huhn? As the lazy bird that’s always behind?” She slammed
“You won’t understand Jade…. I’m doing it for….” She paused as Jade gave her a warning glare
“Fine…it’s alright. I’m not stopping you, I only wanted you to stay behind and watch over the clan” Kyla muttered even though it was part of her reason, it’s still isn’t the main reason she wanted her to stay behind.
“We are haunting The Mask?” Jade asked, more like she had read Kyla’s mind. Kyla nodded slowly
“It’s gonna be a deadly mission”
“Then why did you decide to keep it secret from us, why make such mission impromptu” Jade seethed, already fuming in anger.
“There is mole…..I need to know who this betrayer is. Trust me, if he or she gets to know about this mission and sell out our plans to the enemy, then the mission will only end up bloody, without a fulfilled accomplishment.”
Jade’s mind flashed back to the night at a tavern where she saw someone with The Mask, he looks like someone she had seen, especially his hair. But no one has such features in this clan or was she just hallucinating. Perhaps when she comes across anyone like that, she might know.

Evans staggered into his room tired of the days event. He met his two roommates on their respective beds, on their phones. Justin looked up to him on entering.
“Hey” Evans mumbled a word of greeting. Justin responded while Raphael simply ignored him as always. He wasn’t bothered though; taking off his shoes, he walked down to the single couch in the room and slumped into it, exhaling.
“Did you get to see Jade? Justin asked, waiting eagerly for a response
“Yea….” Evans drawled, closing his eyes.
“So…what did she say?” He asked. Evans squinted, trying to get his point.” Oh…that…yea I asked her. I’m not sure, perhaps just a brief meeting concerning other things” he replied, groaning as he limped up on his feet. The exercise he did had taken a huge turn on his, giving him slight pains.
“oh ok” Justin mouthed, focusing on his phone as he typed into it
Next Day~~~
Wolves clan
The atmosphere seem tensed as the members prepared for the mission, setting the van where the ammunitions are kept, including the computer sets, which will be Jayden’s work point.
They held a brief meeting after getting set. Their roles had been delivered to them in the mails sent to them. They will be leaving by noon to the agreed location.
“I will be leaving now, Bruce will be in charge of you all.” Kyla noted staring at each of them. They were all eight in numbers, excluding Kyla as the boss.
“You might be wondering why I didn’t add the trainees this time, well, because the mission we are going on is more of deadly. But I want you all to be rest assured that as long as we stick together and follow orders, we will be safe.
Don’t let fear take over the better part of you. Here is the plan” she stated, pulling out a large sheet as she placed it on the table
“I know I shouldn’t be doing this now, it’s late…more like the right thing at the wrong time. But it’s the best for us….for all of us. We are eight members present, Jayden will be in the van, working with the surveillance camera monitoring us all.
” Kelvin, this will be your position. The tenth floor of the hotel close by; 38th room on the floor, which window faces the east. Set the snipper and wait for my command to gun down any of the enemy’s men who doesn’t go down” she explained
“Yes boss” he replied
“Wizard, Bruce, Autumn and Moonlight will be on the ground floor, east and west likewise. You will be on look out for Don, incase he tries to escape. Chief’s men will be at the venue scattered across each floors of the hotel…they will be of aid to you all.”
“And how are gonna differentiate them from the enemies?” Bruce asked the mind of others
“Their dress code with be a wine suit….on black” she replied
“Jade….you will be on the sixth floor, beside the elevator. You will wait there for my orders; there will be a lady called Emma, who will be leaving the floor for mine after my call. Enter the elevator with her and see how to delay her…but don’t ki|| her…until I give you orders to”
“One last thing…..if you find yourself on the top floor, either by mistake or following orders….do not taste any food or drink…stay clean” she ordered. They all responded positively
