It’s a beautiful Sunday morning and I feel very funny within my body system, I guess is that time of the month which every woman has to cross their red seas grudgingly or happily
The signs are showing already but I just pray it doesn’t come out fully today because I need to be in church. Is the first Sunday of the month so I dare not miss out service come what may.
I lazily got my ãss outta the bed and go take my bath to go prepare for service, I don’t want Vicky to come dragging me out of bed like she usually does.
Spitting is one of my symptoms once I’m about seeing or in my monthly flow and I’m just cracking my brain on how to deal with it while in church immediately I stepped out of the bath
Tonia, don’t tell me you’re not dressed for church already, Vicky half yelled when she saw me surfing through my wardrobe looking for clothes to wear.
I’m almost Vic, just searching for what to wear
I replied picking out a blue flowered flay gown
You emptied your wardrobe to the orphanage yesterday and ordered new clothes, so just pick anything churchy and you’re good to go girl, I just came to check on you, lemme go get dressed we are are almost running late
Vicky said and quickly dash out of my room before I could even show her the cloth I have settled with.
I quickly got dressed and applied a light makeover, spraying any cologne will trigger the level of my expectoration (pouring of spit)
So I didn’t even border wearing any atall
Tonia! can we get going already? Vicky called out from the hallway… I know she’s dodging to come into my room to avoid further delays from me.
I’m out already Vic, won’t you come check me out? I teased her knowing fully well she won’t agree to come into my room
You’re looking great sweetie, anything you’re putting on is just too perfect, she said hurrying me to come out or else she will leave me behind
I giggles and stepped out of my room… Just then, the smell of Vicky’s cologne hit my nose and I felt nausea
Awwch! I forgot to tell you not to wear a colongn Vicky! I told her as we began mounting down the staircase
Is your menses out already? she asked feeling kinda guilty and sorry towards me
Not yet, but the signs, I replied her…
My bad, I should have known already but it skipped my mind I’m sorry. Lemme quickly go change my dress while you revise the car okay…. Vicky said with so much compassion and was about going upstairs when I stopped her
We are already late Vic, never mind I can manage, I was saying but she’s already climbed the step up to her room.
In a jiffy, Vicky came out wearing a a different cloth without colongn and handing me to pieces of chewing gum.
I should chew this in church Vicky? I asked her surprised
Why not, God understand your situation and he knows this will help you from standing up every minute to go to the restroom or outside to expectorate. We both are not wearing colongn, what about other members that will sit besides you, will you tell them to go and remove their colongn? no right…
Yah, you are right for once in your life Vicky, I said pecking her cheek
I know you will still say this tomorrow, she said giggling as she entered the driver’s seat and stretched her hand for the car keys which I obidiently dropped in her hands.
We got to the church and before alighting from the vehicle Vicky said to me…
“Tonia, please chew the gum responsibly, no sounds, remember you’re in the church”
Yes mum I replied smiling because Vicky knows I like making loud sounds while on it
And yes one more thing, she said immediately I opened the car to step out
Common Vicky, let’s get going already, I said impatiently
Is just a quick one Tonia… She said feigning seriousness
What? I asked looking at her curiously
Please don’t tell God I gave you chewing gum to chew in His house, please, She pleaded making a puppy face
You’re kidding right Vic, you’re feeling guilty already, despite the fact that both of us knew that HE knows you gave it to me, but I promise not to tell HIM you did anyways.
I said shaking my head at Vicky’s childish attitude as we both walked into the church.
Wow! the service today was really awesome, every second in God’s presence is really worthwhile, I wished it never ended, I said to Vicky as I hummed the hymn “What a friend we have in Jesus”
Honestly, I truly wished it never ended, the sermon today hit differently honestly, it just renewed my hope and strengthened my faith in God. Vicky added with a wave of her hands
We both hummed the hymn together as Vicky swiftly drives us home.
Getting very close to the entrance of my house gate, a strong colongn smell hit my nose which sent my stomach into disarray which made mucus to pile up in my lungs filling up my mouth.
I whined down the car glass and without a second thought, I spit it out through the window and unfortunately everything went flying on the body of a male stranger.
