CHAPTER 61
MASON
After coming back from my favorite place I tried to sleep but all I could think of was Avery.
My parents called my phone, mostly my mom but I just ignored them.
But then I heard a knock on my door. I just sighed “come in”
“Young master there’s a girl standing outside she said her name is Avery”.
Hearing that made me fall from the floor hitting my head hard on the floor.
“Young master are you alright”.
“Yeah”
“Should I send her away”
There was silence for a while.
“I’m coming down”.
“Okay” he said before going out.
Was I ready to see Avery?
What if she says something hurtful to me?
I don’t think I’ll be able to control my emotions again.
I was feeling nervous as I walked downstairs.
Immediately I reached the sitting room.
My heart was beating faster than the normal rate.
But what shocked me the most was when she ran and hugged me.
I stood there frozen at one spot, I couldn’t move at all.
“I miss you”
This time my eyes went wide.
What’s going on?
Was this a dream
I pinched myself but it wasn’t a dream it was real.
The last time we ever spoke she said she h@ťěd me and I could see it in her eyes.
When she noticed I didn’t move she removed her hands wrapped around my waist.
“Are you alright?”.
Right now I was confused but what shocked me the most was when she pulled the collar of my shirt making me bend as age crashed her lips on mine.
What the hell is happening?.
But I couldn’t deny I missed her lips but I quickly pushed her slightly.
I had to protect her even if that meant pushing her away.
I quickly put on my cold expression
“What are you doing here?” I said harshly.
And I immediately regretted it when I saw how hurt she looked.
“Mason, I miss you and I don’t want you to get engaged to Arianna. You made me fall in love with you and now I’m crazy about you.”
Even if that touched my heart I resisted the urge to smile.
“And I’ve told you that I don’t love you, it was all a lie”.
Even if it hurts my heart I just have to push her away.
“You don’t have to do what your parents want.”
Immediately she said that my eyes widened.
“You don’t have to pretend to be me,I know everything you’re doing is just to protect me from your parents.
You don’t have to do that again. Mason, we can figure a way out.”
I wanted to say something but I didn’t have the voice to do so.
I just stared at her in awe.
“Mason, you don’t have to protect me. I thought I was going through a lot of pain but I didn’t know you were going more than I am.
Leaving someone you love, getting engaged, thr_@tened by your parents, commiting to a marriage you don’t want”.
“You are even suffering and now you almost lost all sense of morality, you became cold even to the people you care about the most.
You didn’t want anyone to bear the same pain. You didn’t want anyone to feel the way you felt because you felt you’ve already done enough.
You felt the pain I felt was enough so carrying the one you have is your punishment “.
“You know Mason it’s okay not to feel okay”.
“You don’t have to suffer again because of your parents, you have people that care about you. You have Westley, Roy, Oliver and me.
You don’t know how worried they are
This is your life Mason, you have to leave it the way you want.
We just have one life and don’t leave it like this , something you’ll regret later”.
I didn’t know when tears started to fall from my eyes. All the emotions I shut inside it felt like there was a crack and everything came out.
Pain, anger, regret and mostly guilt.
“You don’t understand Avery, my parents will do anything to make sure I get married to Arianna.
My parents will do anything and I just want to protect you Avery. If anything happens to you or your family I’ll never forgive myself.
I’m already living in guilt because if I didn’t force you to love me you wouldn’t be in my mess”.
“Who said you force me to love me”
“Mason, I knew what I was getting myself into when I fell in love with you.
I knew I had to deal with Arianna and also your parents “.
“I’m not scared of your parents again, I love you and that’s all that matters “.
I just stared at Avery, unable to say anything.
“Do you trust me?” She asked.
I just nodded.
“Then leave everything to me okay, it’s time for me to fight for my love for you okay”.
I shaked my head negatively, I don’t want her to get hurt . I’m not scared of her but I’m scared of what my parents intention and what they’ll so mostly my dad.
“Just trust me on this okay”.
I just nodded.
“Now stop crying like a big baby” she used her hand to wipe away my tears but I just pulled her close and wrapped my hands around her waist as I clamped my lips on hers.
She wrapped her hands around my neck as she kissed me back.
We pulled away when we were both out of breath as I smiled.
I missed her so much that I was already losing my sanity.

AVERY
Mason wanted to drop me but I told him no. I didn’t want to draw any suspicious to us because I’m sure is parents are watching his move.
After some argument he finally gave in.
I waved him goodbye before entering the taxi.
When I came down,now the problem is Arianna.
I need to find a way to change Arianna’s mind.
I sighed but I saw Tyler walking but he didn’t look like his usual self.
I decided to ignore him but I couldn’t be my friend.
I walked up to him.
“Are you okay ?”
“Avery, is it a crime to fall in love with someone”.
I was caught off guard.
Does he still have feelings for me?
I thought he said he didn’t.
“If you’re thinking it’s you you’re wrong “.
“Then whose it”
He sighed before he said.
“I know it will be stupid of me to say this but it’s Arianna “.
A gasp left my mouth.
“I know I shouldn’t but doing our plan to separate you and Mason I ended up catching feelings for her”.
“With everything going on we had a fight but today I finally had the chance to tell her out i felt even if I knew she loves mason.
I just wanted it out of my chest and I even kissed her . But she said “let’s act as if nothing happened, it was a mistake “.
I listened to Tyler and I kind of felt bad for him.
“But she didn’t reject you ” I said.
” Her saying that means she doesn’t feel the same. Sometimes Arianna confuses me, sometimes she acts as if she loves me but then she acts as if she loves Mason. But one thing I know is that she doesn’t love Mason.
She thinks she does but she doesn’t “.
I and Tyler talked for a while before we said our goodbyes.
That’s it all I just need to do is talk to Arianna. I’m sure she has a soft place for Tyler. But it’s not going to be easy.
I don’t want to use Tyler’s feelings at the same time. I want him to be happy even if I haven’t forgiven him yet.
But it won’t help but try.
