Chapter-Seventeen
Baek-Hyun was smiling at himself in the mirror as he was getting ready to go on the picnic with Ji-ho, his friends who came in earlier were staring at him.
“Why do you look all happy, is it not as if she asks you to marry her?” Chan-yeol teases.
“You don’t understand, This is actually the first time she has asked me out on a date, it means she starting to give in to me”. Baek-Hyun said.
” Are you sure about that?” Byung-ho asked.
“Yeah, and I know today is going to be perfect”. he said smiling.
I wish you luck, I guess Byung-ho and I are left here alone to have fun”. Chan-yeol said.
” No, am going out too,” he said.
“With who? Si-u? You two are going on a date with two sisters on the same day”. chan-yeol asked and they sighed tiredly at him.
” Am not going on a date with Si-u, am hanging out with Min-jun”. he said and they turned in his direction quickly.
“Min-jun?” both asked simultaneously.
“Yeah, she called me out for a hang-out earlier today”.
” Hmm, do you feel attracted to her already?” chan-yeol asked.
“No, why should I?”
“You really need to be careful of her, you know how cunning she is and with the way we see it, she is into you”. Baek-Hyun said.
” He is right,”.chan-yeol said.
“Alright guys, got to go, see ya later”. He picks up his phone and his car keys.
“Okay, have fun”. Byung-ho said and Baek-Hyun left.
ji-ho was done arranging the food and snacks on the basket.
“Are you done?” Si-u asked.
“Yeah, it’s all set”
“Okay, I wish you luck even though I don’t want it to end like this,” she said sadly.
“Well, it has to, I know this will never end well at first, I tried to stop it, but I couldn’t”.
” But it’s not fair, his dad is been unfair to you, is not your fault that his son fell for you first, love knows no age”.
“You are right, but something needs to be done”. She smiled forcedly and then they heard a car horn. ” he is here already, I will go now”.
“Okay, be careful” They kissed on the cheek.
” I will, take care” ” She left to meet Baek-Hyun standing next to his car, he rushed to help her with the basket, and they entered the car and drove off. along the driveway, both were smiling at each other as their fingers entwined, Cool music was playing in the car and they were nodding slowly to it. Soon, they arrived at the waterfall, Ji-ho spread a little cloth on the carpet grass and placed the basket on it.
“Wow, this place looks wonderful”. Baek-Hyun said smiling.
” Yeah, is the best place to have a quiet moment”. she said as she started arranging the food on the cloth.
“Hmmm, the food looks delicious”. He takes a bite of the sandwich.” Hmm, yummy, I love this”.he said with his mouth full.
“I know you will like it” ” She sat next to him and they started eating as well as staring at the waterfall.
” I am happy you bring me out here”. he said.
“And I am glad you honor my invitation”.
” Who am I to reject such an amazing offer”. they chuckle. ” I hope to be out with you every day” They stare lovingly into each other eyes.” Will you love to go out with me in the future, every day?”.he asked and ji-ho cleared her throat nervously.
“Baek-Hyun, I– she got interrupted as Baek-Hyun placed a finger on her lips to shut her up.
“Shh, you don’t have to say anything for now, am not in a hurry, I will wait until you are free with me,” he said smiling and then turning his gaze back to the water.
“Let’s have some wine”. she said as she popped up the champagne, Baek-hyun yelled in excitement, She served the drink in each glass cup and they cheered to life before taking a sip.” Hmm, I love the taste”.
“Yeah, is the best-selling wine in the city”.
” is nice, I love it”. She takes another sip. They continue staring out into the water smiling and having conversations with each other, Soon, the fun begins, they run around chasing each other and it continues till they call it a day.
Si-u was walking down the street holding a shopping bag containing some foodstuff, She stopped as she saw Byung-ho with the same girl from the other night, walking hand in hand talking and smiling, They all came face to face with each other, suddenly Byung-ho was caught off guard as Min-jun encircled her arm around his, smiling.
“Hey, you two”. Si-u said smiling forcedly.
” You are the girl from the other night, right?” Min-jun asked.
“Yeah”. she replied. ” I didn’t expect to see you two around here”. she added Byung-ho tried to talk but Min-jun cut in quickly.
“Oh, yeah, we are just having a good time strolling around, You know it’s been a long we saw each other”. Min-jun said smiling.
” Oh, that’s great, I will see you two some other time”. she said and walked away, Byung-ho sighed.
“Let’s go”. She said and they walked away.

Baek-Hyun drove ji-ho home and they parked outside the building.
” I had a lot of fun today, thank you”. Baek-hyun said smiling.
“Am glad you do”. She smiles back and continues.” I want a favor from you”.
“Okay, sure, what is it?”.
” I want you to promise me something, promise me you will always look after yourself no matter what”. she said both staring straight into each other eyes.
“Why are you saying that, are you leaving?” he asked confusedly.
“No, am just saying, do you promise?”
“Yes,” he took her hand tenderly and caressed her hair ” I promise to look after myself just for you”.
“Then also promise me you will never do anything that will hurt you, you will always be strong for wh@ťěver that happens”.
” Why do I feel uncomfortable with your words right now, Why do I feel that this is your last words to me, Tell me, are you leaving?”. he asked and ji-ho smiled faintly at him and caressed his face.
“No, am just looking out for you”. she sighs. ” alright, is getting pretty late, you should head back home”.
“Sure, let me see you off to your doorstep”. They came down and walked together to the doorstep, Si-u came over and saw them, she stood from afar watching and smiling at them.
” Thank you,” she said as both stood facing each other.
“No, I should be thanking you”He tucked her hair behind her ear and then placed a kiss on her forehead.” Good night my little pumpkin”. He pulled away from her and turned to leave, ji-ho called him back.
“Baek-Hyun”. she called and he turned to her quickly and she ran into his arms, Baek-hyun was caught off guard at first, but then he held her tight to himself.
” Are you missing me already, my little pumpkin?”. he teased and they pulled away a little to stare into each other eyes, ji-ho moved slowly and kissed him softly, Baek-hyun became confused first at her sudden attitude, then she pulled away from him.
“Good night”. She smiled lovely at him.
” Good night”. He smiled back and left to his car and then zoomed off, ji-ho stared after him and sighed sadly, Si-u came over and they went inside, ji-ho rushed to her room sobbing, She leaned against her doorstep, crying her eyes out.
“eonni,”. Si-u called sadly standing at her doorstep as tears filled her eyes.” Please don’t hurt yourself, everything will be fine soon”. she said trying to console her.
Meanwhile, Baek-hyun was driving along the road with a smile on his face, he couldn’t help but keep having a rethink of their sweet moment.
The next morning, ji-ho came to the manager’s office to submit her resignation letter, the manager was surprised at first.
“Why do you want to resign?” he asked.
“is what I want sir, I don’t want to put this company into a mess, I know Mr.Dae-Jung thr_@tened you and the company, and it is my fault”. she said.
” Of course not, things can be resolved, what if Baek-hyun– he got interrupted.
“Please don’t tell Baek-Hyun anything, don’t tell him, his father came here, please”. she pleaded.
” Okay, but will you be ok?”
“Yes, thank you very much for your support”.
” Is okay, I wish you the best of luck”.
“Thank you sir” ” She bowed and left to get her things from her office, Her colleagues were surprised and asked her why she was leaving, and she told them she was going on a short leave.
Later at home, Su-ho and Si-u were helping Ji-ho pack her clothes in her bags.
” Do you really have to do this?” Su-ho asked sadly.
“Yes, am not traveling out of the world, am going to my hometown”. ji-ho said.
“If Baek-hyun comes looking for you?” Si-u asked.
“I told you not to tell him anything, you two promise me that”.
” Fine! But will you be ok?”Su-ho asked.
“Yes, I will be fine”. She smiles forcedly at them and they continue packing.” Wait, let me get something from the kitchen”. She turns to leave, she stops as she feels a little dizzy.
“Are you ok?” Si-u asked.
“Yeah, I just felt dizzy”.
” Really? Maybe because you have been too stressed out lately”. Su-ho said.
“I guess so”. she tried to walk, but suddenly everywhere was spinning around, and she fell and lost consciousness, su-ho and Si-u were stunned and rushed to her quickly.
” Ji-ho!” Su-ho screamed
“eonni! si-u screamed.
“Quickly, let’s take her to the hospital”. Su-ho said they helped her up to the car, Si-u kicked the car engine and zoomed off.
