Chapter Thirteen
Baek-Hyun was relaxing in the living room with his friends and at the same time busy with his phone, suddenly, he notice Chan-yeol’s gaze on him.
“Why are you staring at me like that?”. he asked.
” What have you been up to for the past few days now? Whenever we needed you, you were never around”. Chan-yeol asked.
“Why are you asking? do I need to take permission from you before doing what I want?”
“What’s up with you, Chan-yeol? Do you have a problem with what he has been up to?”. Byung-ho asked.
” Yes! You two are beginning to drive me insane”. he said and turn to Byung-ho. “you when will you stop acting childish and hurry to confess your feelings to Si-u?”.
“How do you mean?” Byung-ho asked.
“You know what I mean”.
” Chan-yeol, stop being altruistic and focus more on settling down you know you are not getting any younger”. Baek-Hyun teased and they laugh.
“Yeah right! I don’t want to be love-struck like the two of you”. he said and they laugh.
” We got you, bro and we will always watch out for you”. Byung-ho said and he scoffs. they went mute for a while before Chan-yeol spoke out.
“So, how is it going with Ha-jun? What’s the arrangement between you two?”. he asked and Baek-Hyun raise his eyebrows at him.
” How do you mean? What arrangement?”.
“The engagement between the two of you”.
” There is no arrangement and there is no engagement either”. he said and Ha-jun who just came out of her car heading to the door went still to listen to their conversation through the doorstep.
“Did you tell her that?”. Byung-ho asked.
“I don’t need to tell her, she needs to know through the attitude I am giving her, the engagement thing is between my dad and her parents, and is not my problem”. he said and Ha-jun who still standing by the door was boiling in anger.
” Then try to make your dad understand”. Byung-ho said.
“And you think he hasn’t tried? You and I know, Baek-Hyun’s heart only belongs to one woman and he is ready to sacrifice his life for it “. Chan-yeol said.
” How about you introduce Ji-ho to your parents and tell them she is the woman you want to live with”. Byung-ho said and Ha-jun almost collapsed on the doorstep at the mention of Ji-ho’s name. She rushed back to her car as tears crawl out from her eyes.
“oh my gosh”. she exclaimed surprisedly. just then her phone beeped with an incoming message, She went through the messages and saw the photos and videos of them hugging, kissing, and dancing together, she grunt loudly in pain and drove off.
Later in the cool evening, Ji-ho sat beside the window staring out to the stars as the thought of Baek-Hyun was running through her mind, just then her cell phone beeped with incoming messages, it was a text from Baek-hyun.
💬”Are you sleeping already?” he texted.
💬”no, why aren’t you sleeping yet?”. she replied.
💬” I couldn’t, because I miss you right now and, I want you right now in my arms”. he texted Ji-ho sighed and he continued texting. “can you go out with me tomorrow? I want to spend time with you”.
💬” I will love to, but I have some clients to meet for work tomorrow”.
💬”Okay, let’s meet after then”. he texted and Ji-ho sighed and went back to sleep.
Ha-jun was feeling bitter as she pester around her room talking on the phone with someone.
” I want the news published tomorrow and let the allegations be pointed toward her, do you understand me?………Good!”. she hung up and grunt loudly.
The Next morning, ji-ho woke up looking paled and Si-u notice her mood as she was eating her breakfast sluggishly.
“Is everything ok?”. Si-u asked.
” I don’t know, I feel so worried”.
“Worried? about what exactly?”.
” I don’t know”.
“Don’t be, I understand, I know you have some clients to meet up with today, that’s why you are nervous”.
” I wish that is it, but this feeling am having is different”.
“Don’t worry, everything will be fine”. she said calmly and ji-ho sighed as they continue eating. A few minutes later, ji-ho walked into her office and was confused to see the staff murmuring towards each other and their gaze was on her, she marvel at what’s they look all about as she left for her seat, and just then two of the staff rushed to her.
” What is going on? Why is everyone giving me this look?”. Ji-ho asked and they sigh.
“is just that, there has been trending news about you”. 1st staff said.
” Trending news? What is it all about?”. she asked curiously
“You can see for yourself, check the net, the news is everywhere”. 2nd staff said and she immediately brought out her phone to check the news. She immediately went stunned. The headline of the news was written boldly.

She almost collapses as their photos were displayed on the net and videos of them hugging and kissing, her breathes seized and hoping for the ground to open and swallow her up. she continues to glance through the write-ups one after the other and all the false stories were about her and how she got chased out of her husband house because she couldn’t bear a child for his ex-husband and it was due to series of abortions she did when she was a teenager. She became even more shocked to see photos of her with different men on the bed half naked, she began to shake in fear as she fell loose on the chair, and the staff rushed to her to calm her down.
” Ji-ho, are you ok?”1st staff asked and then turn to the other staff. “get her some water, quickly!”.
” Okay”. she rushed off and everyone was staring at them still making repelling faces at Ji-ho. She stood up quickly and ran to the restroom, she lock up herself and started sobbing bitterly.
The news was spreading around that it got to everyone and they started making bad comments against her.
“How shameless can she be, seducing a boy old enough to be your little brother”. 1st commenter stated.
” She deserves jail for it, this is a child abused, how could she, “2nd commenter said.
“Serve her right for being chased out of her husband’s house, a woman like her is not meant to live among us”. 3rd commenter said.
” she is not even that pretty, she wants to snatch another lady’s husband, so shameless”4th commenter stated.
“very wicked! Ha-jun, don’t let her steal your man away from you” 5th commenter said.
“Shame on you, go and find a man of your age and leave the young ones alone, Baek-hyun is too young for you” 6th commenter stated.
“How can you seduce your student, unbelievable!” 7th commenter said.
“What is this world turning into, the old go for the young, while the young go for the minors, she deserves jail,” the .8th commenter said.
” She is too wild”. 9th commenter stated.
There were so many bad comment labels on her. Su-ho was shocked by the news as she relax in her office, she quickly dial on Ji-ho’s number, but it wasn’t connecting.
“Come on Ji-ho, don’t believe what they are saying”. she said as she pray silently for her while dialing her number. Meanwhile, Si-u was still trying to connect with her, so she decided to take an excuse from work to go and check on her sister at her place of work.
” Please sis, don’t do anything to hurt yourself, I know you are innocent of these accusations”. she said sadly as she continued to try her number.
Baek-hyun was feeling restless after reading about the news, he try connecting to ji-ho, but it wasn’t connecting, then Byung-ho and Chan-yeol enter.
“Baekhyun, what is going on? Who made this false story?” Byung-ho asked confusedly
“I have no idea, ji-ho cell phone is not connecting, I wonder how she is feeling now”. Baek-Hyun said sadly.
” This is unbelievable, how about we go to her place of work to see her”. Chan-yeol said.
“That’s a great idea, let’s go”. Byung-ho said. Baek-Hyun pick up his suit jacket and then his cell phone rang, he saw the caller and ignore it.
” let’s go”. he said and they walk to the hallway and saw the staff murmuring to each other, Baek-hyun stop walking and turn his gaze to them, they all stop talking and stay calm in their sit. he stare at them a while and left with his friends.
Mr.Dae-Jung was pestering around angrily in the living room and his wife was trying to calm him down, he was calling on Baek-hyun’s phone, but he wasn’t picking up.
“Your son is ignoring my calls, let all these I saw on the net, not be true”. he said angrily and walk away to his room, Mrs. I-jun sigh tiredly.
Mr. Dong-Geun and his wife sat down at the dinner table and they were confused about the story online.
” This is unbelievable, why will she do that”.Mrs.Do-Yun said.
“What do you expect from the generation of nowadays”. he said.
” I hope this doesn’t affect our daughter”. she said and just then Ha-jun came over.
“Hi Dad, hi Mom”. she greeted and sat down operating her iPad.
” Do you see the news going on air?”Mr.Dong-Geun asked.
“What news?” she asked feigning
“This,” he said as he handover the phone to her, she glance through it, and a little smile curve her face, suddenly, she snapped.
“What? Is this true, Dad?”. she stood up from her chair staring surprisingly at the phone in her hand.
