Chapter 15
The next day in school, Baek-Hyun and his friends, and some other students were playing a basketball game in the hall, some of the students came in to cheer them up and were screaming in excitement, then Ji-ho walk by, she stopped to watch as her attention was on Baek-Hyun and also saw the female students flirting with him and he winks at them, suddenly, he met eyes with her and ji-ho turn away from quickly and walk away.
Some hours later, Baek-Hyun was sitting under a tree operating his phone when one of the students approached him, ji-ho was heading to class when she caught sight of them, and she stood to watch.
“hey Baek-Hyun”. she said smiling faintly and Baek-Hyun raised his face to her, she was good-looking and very attractive.
” hey”. he replied as he smiled at her.
“I didn’t mean to disturb you, but would you mind if I joined you?”. she asked politely.
” Sure, it will be an honor”. he adjusted for her and she sat down fidgeting with her fingers they started talking and laughing, ji-ho who was staring at them felt jealous and walked away quickly. She got to her office and sat down angrily.
“What are you doing ji-ho? Why are you so jealous and bitter? Don’t let him affect you, you two are not compatible”. she sighs.
Later in the day, Ji-ho came to lecture Baek-Hyun, and they sat down on the veranda. Baek-Hyun was busy with his phone laughing and chatting and wasn’t paying attention to ji-ho teachings.
” Oh my, you are so funny”. he chuckles.
“Baek-Hyun”. she called.
” mm”. he answered still busy with his phone.
“Are you going to listen to my teaching or you are going to be busy with your phone?”. she asked looking upset.
” I listen with my ears not with my hands, I can practically hear what you are saying, so go on with it”. he replied nonchalantly still chatting on his phone she sighed and quickly grabbed the phone from him “What the hell!”.
” This is my lesson and you are going to listen to me”.
“Are you being serious right now? Can I have my phone back”. he said staring straight into her eyes.
” Never, this is my period and you are going to pay attention to me”.
“Why should I? You are just my teacher and it’s your job to teach and not to take people’s phones to gain attention, do I remind you that this is my house and I can’t take orders from you”. he said frowning at her, ji-ho was pained by his harsh words, she couldn’t believe Baek-Hyun will suddenly change towards her, but she managed to control her emotions.
” Yes you are right, but this is my time now and you are going to pay attention to my teaching”.
“And what if I don’t?”. he scoffs and leans closer to her.” listen, miss Ji-ho, I will remind you again, that this is my house and I can do wh@ťěver I want”. he leaned back and snapped. “beside why do you care if I listen to your teaching or not? You are only here to work and get paid at the end, so don’t tell me what to do… now let me have my phone”. he said unfriendly and both stared into each other eyes, then he grabbed the phone back from her and continued operating it, ji-ho was dumbfounded, and she let out a sigh.
Later at night, ji-ho was feeling restless and pondering Baek-Hyun’s harsh words to her. meanwhile, Baek-Hyun on the other side was also feeling restless and regretting the words he said to her.
Saturday evening, ji-ho was getting ready to go out on a date with Dong-Geun.
” Are you going to accept his proposal?” Si-u asked as she relaxed on the bed staring at her.
“What proposal?” ji-ho asked confusedly.
“Asking you to be his girlfriend?”. she said and ji-ho turned to her surprise. ” what? am just saying though”.
“don’t get your hope, high dear, Dong-Geun and I are just friends”.
“Really? But you are going on a date with him, what do you think of that?”. she raises her eyes Brown at her.
” Stop exaggerating, is just a friendly date”.
“hmmm, with the look of it, I think he likes you”. she smiled.
” you– she got interrupted by a car horn.
“He is here, have fun”.
“I will answer to you once I get back, but stay safe and take care of yourself “.
” Am not a kid, go and have fun and I will be fine “.
” Okay, see you later”. she picked up her purse and left. Some minutes later, they arrived at a fancy restaurant, and the waiter directed them to the VIP section.
“you like it here?” Dong-Geun asked as he drew out a chair for her to sit in.
“Yeah, the atmosphere is beautiful”. she said smiling then the waiter gave them a menu, and after glancing through it they made their order and the waiter left for their meal while they continued discussing.
” Tell me ji-ho how do you manage to come to this place when it is far from home?”.
“well I just have to do it, I just needed to stretch out myself for my family”. she said, soon the waiter came with their order and they started eating while chatting and laughing.
” Seriously, I must comment on your courage, you are indeed a selfless lady, and I admire you a lot”. he said and ji-ho blushed.
“Thank you”.
” Anytime dear”. they giggle and continue eating. Soon, ji-ho was caught off guard when she saw Baek-Hyun walk into the restaurant with an unfamiliar girl, both were smiling and holding hands as the waiter was addressing them, then their eyes met, and she quickly turned her gaze to her food, the waiter ushers them to their VIP sector and then write down their order, Ji-ho was stealing gazes at them. “are you okay?”. he asked as he notices her mood.
” Yeah, am fine”.
“Are you sure?”
“yes, I am “. they continue eating. meanwhile, Baek-Hyun on the other hand was stealing gazes at them and at the same time getting jealous.
” Are you okay?”. she asked.
“yes”. Baek-Hyun replied, soon their order was served and they started eating.
” But you don’t look much or are you scared that you will be caught by one of your girlfriends?” she teased and Baek-Hyun scoffed.
“Eun-U 은우
(This unisegz name means king in Korean) I am not any of that”. he said.
” No cousin, I don’t, we have been away for so long, so I don’t know if you have changed”.
“You are so annoying, I don’t know why I decided to go on this dinner with you”.
” That’s because you couldn’t go back on your words, you promised me already”. She said smiling he scoffed and they laughed, Ji-ho stared at them and became jealous. The dinner went well with Baek-Hyun and Eun-U laughing and joking around which made ji-ho more jealous as she tightened her fist.
An hour later, ji-ho and Dong-Geun stood up and left for the car and it drove off, soon Baek-Hyun and Eun-U came out and they left for the car and drove off. Along the driveway, ji-ho was lost in her thoughts as the image of Baek-Hyun and the unfamiliar girl kept popping into her head, Dong-Geun noticed her mood.
“Are you okay, you look lost”? he asked and she let out a sigh and turned to him.
” Am just having a slight headache”. she lied.
“Do you want me to take you to the hospital?”. he asked feeling concerned and ji-ho declined.
” no, I will be fine, all I need now is a long rest”.
“Okay, I will take you home now”. he increases the speed of the car. Baek-Hyun on the other side was also lost in thinking, Eun-u turned in his direction.
” You know you can tell me anything, are you sure you are okay?” she asked and Baek-Hyun let out a deep sigh.
“Yes, am just tired that’s all”.
” Okay, if you say so”.
Two days later, during the lunch period, Baek-Hyun and his friends were having their meal, when suddenly everywhere became rowdy as students were rushing to the window murmuring and smiling with each other.
“What’s going on?”. Chan-yeol asked surprisedly
” Is that Miss Ji-ho with a handsome guy?”1st students asked amazingly.
“He is so cute!”. they yelled in amusement, then Chan-yeol stood up to the window followed by the rest, they all went surprised to see Miss Ji-ho and Dong-Geun standing beside the car smiling at each other as ji-ho was holding a bunch of white roses, Baek-Hyun clenched his fist in anger and walk away, his friends stare after him confusedly.
